CHAPTER NINE
Scott, Joe, and Josh MacDun, the lobbyist from the plane sat in Joe's office. Josh was not too terribly happy about this.
"You think my life is in danger because I went to Turkey?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Two of the men you travelled with are dead." Joe answered calmly.
"Their faces were eaten off." Scott felt the need to add in.
Josh scoffed. "This is Washington D.C. People have their faces eaten off all the time!"
Joe sighed. "Mr. MacDun are you a member of any fraternal order?"
Scott rolled his eyes. "We know you're a member of the Knights of Columbus. Says right here in your resume. We know you went to Turkey with the Knights, to visit the mythical site of the Garden of Eden."
Josh looked at Scott as if he were crazy. "And you think there's a cannibal out there, who has something against a group of civic minded men who do good works in their community?"
Joe rubbed his temples. "Look. The guy we're after? He thinks that the Knights of Columbus is an evil secret society."
Josh shook his head. "Crazy."
Joe leaned back in his chair and had a sarcastic tone about his voice. "You know, I think it's finally catching on with this one!"
Scott ignored this. "Mr. MacDun, your life is in danger."
"Why me? I mean, there were forty guys on that trip!"
Joe rested his elbows on his desk as he leaned forward. "How old were you when your father died?"
Josh rolled his eyes. "Six. What has that to do with anything?"
Scott's people skills were not the greatest. "You lost your father and you're a corrupter."
Josh stood up. "Okay. You want to talk to me? You do it through my lawyer."
Joe stood up as well. "Alright, listen. Mr. MacDun we're just trying to help here."
Josh pointed at him. "The FBI is investigating influence peddling. I am one of your targets. Somebody eating off the faces of the Knights of Columbus? How stupid do you think I am?!"
Scott shook his head. "Right now? Very, very, Stupid."
Josh stormed out and Joe closed the door behind him. "Okay. Bones, you didn't have to call him corrupt."
Scott looked confused as Joe sat back down. "Why? Because obviously he is."
Joe groaned as Agent Charlie entered his office. "Agent Hobbs?"
"What is it Cha- Oh..."
Koda walked in and looked at Scott.
"Koda?!" Scott asked in shock as he stood up.
Koda kept a straight face. "Where's Hayley?"
Scott was still in shock. "You came to the F. B. I.?!"
Koda shrugged. "Yeah, that was the deal."
Joe took a deep breath. "Wow, this just keeps getting better. Alright. Koda Hoying, you're under arrest. Come on, you know the drill." Joe said as he put him in hand cuffs for his past crimes.
Koda looked at Scott angrily. "You lied?! You told Dad Joe wouldn't arrest me!"
Scott's jaw dropped. "No! I never said that!"
Koda huffed. "I should have known better than to trust anyone in this family."
Scott shook his head. "Koda, I swear..."
