CHAPTER TEN
Joe tried to open his door but it didnt work. He stretched his leg over Scott, trying to kick his door open. When he realized that that isn't going to work either he decides to go out the car window. He looked over at Scott, who was slowly awaking. "Don't move, Bones."
He climbed out the window and fell to the ground. He quickly got up and made his way over to Scott's side of the car then tried to pull him out of the window. "Okay. Put your arm underneath my shoulder. Come on, you ready?"
Scott made a noise in pain but Joe had to ignore this. "On 3. 1, 2, 3, and... Move..." He held on to Scott as he pulled him out.
Scott got to his feet and said in a raspy voice, "I'm fine, I'm fine. I'm okay, I'm okay..." Scott and Joe both flopped on the pavement. "Now he knew who we were because I was sitting up front."
"No. It was because you were bad acting, that's what it was, Bones."
"What? Back at the vau-? I was good, Joe!"
"No, you were loud! That's what they call overacting."
"Well, you shouldn't have shushed me! That's how he knew-"
An agent coming over and Joe standing up instantly to question them interrupted Scott. "Who's got the motor cycle?"
The agent shook their head. "Nobody. We lost the follow car."'
"Dammit. Wait, what about the truck?"
The agent nodded this time. "Its fine."
Scott tapped Joe's shoulder. "Hey Joe?"
Joe turned around. "Yeah?" Scott showed him the wound on his arm, something was in it. "Oh. All right, easy. I got it." Joe pulled it out and looked at it. "What is that?
Scott took it from him and held it in the light. "It's a human tooth. He put human teeth in his bomb for shrapnel."
"Bones. He was trying to kill us because - we know his next target. The corrupter, that lobbyist..." Joe ran off, leaving Scott behind.
"HEY! WAIT! I WANNA COME ALONG, TOO, JOE!"
"Stay right there!" Joe yelled back as Scott stopped running, as a fire truck approaches. The paramedics ran over a few seconds later.
One approached Scott and sat him down. "You're going to be okay, sir."
Scott shook his head. "I'm fine, I'm fine, just a flesh wound, really."

Once Joe got to Josh MacDun's house, he kicked down the door and found Josh in his underwear and tied and gagged in the same position as the "Widow's Son". Joe ran up the stairs to untie him. "Believe me now? Where'd he go?"
"He ran downstairs, he got a knife... He has a knife!"
Joe sees the figure from the motorcycle running towards the door on the lower level of the house. He pointed his gun, but the figure has already fled out the door. Joe ran downstairs and hopped the fence, chasing him. The figure starts to throw things their wake down the alleyway to prevent Joe from catching them. The chase wound up in someone else's backyard, where the motorcycle rider grabs a young boy.
The boy kicked and screamed as Joe tried to reason with the familiar figure. "Hey, it's over. Drop him. Put the kid down. Put him down!"
Gormogon, who's still holding the child, jumps into the swimming pool. Joe hesitates, but jumps into the water. He saved the child but Gormogon escaped. Joe swam to the top as Gormogon ran away. The kid was coughing, and crying as Joe held on to him. "It's okay. It's alright. It's alright. It's over, okay? Okay, alright buddy. Okay..."
