The group showed up at the hospital after hearing what had happened. Dobium and other lawyers were talking to Kirstie while the rest of the group stood outside the window, watching.

Kevin turned to see Joe coming back, sweaty from the mission. "Did you get him?"

Joe nodded. "Got him."

Scott looked over. "Who was he?"

Malo snorted. "Nobody. Am I right? He was nobody. An invisible man, angry at history for not seeing him."

Mitch raised an almost angry eyebrow at Malo. "Yeah, for a nobody, he sure wrecked a lot of lives, didn't he?"

Dobium stepped out with the lawyers just before an argument was about to spark. "Kirstie confessed to killing the Lobbyist - stabbed him in the heart."

Mitch looked up at him hopefully. "So he didn't eat anybody?"

"No."

"So how did this happen?" Mitch asked.

Scott could answer this. "Logic."

Dobium cut him off. "No. I'm sorry, Hoying. That might cut it with you eggheads, but this happened the way this always happens: a strong personality finds a weak personality and takes advantage. I hope we fry the guy."

Joe shook his head. "Wont be necessary."

Dobium nodded. "Good riddance."

Max looked at Kirstie through the glass, worried for his friend. "What'll happen to her?"

"I cut a deal. She pleads guilty, cooperates, and we find her non compos mentis. That way, Kirstie is moved to a secure psychiatric facility instead of going to prison." Dobium answered.

Malo shook his head. "No, that won't stand up. Kirstie isn't actually insane." Joe pulled him away for a moment. "What?"

"You're gonna give this one to Bones, alright?"

Malo nodded. "I understand."

Later that night, everyone sat around a table in the lounge area of the lab. Max sat a large box down. "Thith is, uh, Kirthtie'th favorite thtuff."

Mitch looked over at it. "Well, what're we gonna do with it?"

Kevin shrugged. "Where she's going, they just might let her keep it."

As items are pulled out and commented on, Scott watched but something is obviously bothering him. Joe pulled out a harmonica, then Kevin pulled out a trophy that says, "Kirstie M - Queen of the Lab" with a smile. "Oh I got her this!"

Max snorted. "Yeah, thankth. She waved that in my fathe every day." Max took a book out of the box. "Pocket Kama Thutra. I gave her this so he'd stop asking Joe sexth questionth."

Joe started to play the harmonica. "Got Kirstie this before she went to Iraq..."

Mitch pulled out a piece of paper. "Hey, I drew this for her!" It's a place mat with a caricature of Kirstie, saying "KIRSTIE, QUEEN OF THE LAB"

Malo watched intently. "It's interesting that all of her favorite things are objects you people gave to her."

Scott frowned. "I never gave her anything..."

Mitch leaned over on Scott. "Scott, she totally loved you. I mean, as much as she was capable."

Scott got up. "But I never gave him anything." He left and Mitch starts after her until Joe placed a hand on his shoulder.

"I got this, Mitch." Joe then followed after Scott, who was sitting on the stairs, head in his hands, when he finally catches up to him. He sat down next to him and starts reading the letter that he had pulled out of the box earlier. "'Dear Miss Maldonado. It is my pleasure to offer you the post of my intern in Forensic Anthropology. I choose you from hundreds of applicants because of your knowledge, your desire to learn and because I feel you will find a home here.'" He put the letter in the envelope. "I think you gave her something great, Bones."

Joe handed him the letter, which he takes it and then places his head on Joe's shoulder. He placed his head against Scott's as the two looked at each other. Before the two knew it, their lips were locked. Not the worst day ever. Not the worst at all.
