"Do you have to go?" Aleks whined, "I preferred us doing nothing all week."

"Aleksandr, I have things to get done. As much as I'd love to argue and lounge with you, I have shit to do at school."

Aleks grumbled and groaned. "Fine."

They both walked to the front door together, and James shared a small unexpected kiss with Aleks.

"I'll see you in a bit, kay?"

Aleks nodded. "Love you."

And with that the door was shut, and James made his way to school. He hadn't been to school in a week, and he was sure all of his friends would be worried about him.

The past weeks with Aleksandr had been lovely, and he almost forgot he had a thing called "life" to deal with. They had done literally nothing but watch t.v and bicker about nothing, and James loved it. There relationship was slowly turning into a playful love - hate high school romance and once again, James loved it.

Walking through the halls, James searched every where for at least one of his buddies, but the bell had rung, and none of his group friends were found. He went to his first period class, thinking that they had probably just figured he was absent again today and didn't bother waiting up for him. At least, he hoped that was what happened.

"Well, fuck me! James is here today, boys!"

James sat at the cafeteria table furrowing his brows towards Eddie.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You and Seamus have been gone for the past week." Jordan informed.

James wondered as to why Seamus would be gone, but he didn't dwell on it. That's something he could ask later.

They sat and ate for what only seemed like 5 minutes when another joined the table.

"And now the gang is back as whole." Dan commented.

James turned his head toward the body who had slumped down next to him.

"Hey," James started a one on one conversation, "Why weren't you here the past week?"

"Why weren't you?" Seamus turned the question around.

James looked around the table; the others weren't listening.

"Well, after you decided to just get up and leave us, I decided to spend time alone-"

"Spend time alone with Aleks." Seamus finished for him.

James stared at the blonde boy. The harder you stared into his eyes, the harder it was to read them. He needed to talk to him.

Just like his normal routine, James reached into his left pocket for his phone to check the time, though, there was no phone. Right pocket - nothing.

"Shit." He muttered to himself.

He figured he'd get up and go to his next class anyway. The tension at the table killed him. The faster he can get through this day the better.

"James!" One of the boys shouted from the table, "Do you wanna hang out today after school?"

"Sure!" James yelled back, not really taking time to think if he even wanted to hang out. He just wanted to chill with Aleksandr.

He still walked to his class, though, wanting to get the day over with.

~

James walked home alone when school ended. He didn't see any of the guys for the rest of the day. His suspicion was slowly beginning to rise. Why would they just avoid him all day? James closed his eyes while walking down the gravel road, he still needed to get his phone. He'd been stressing out about it ever since lunch.

Opening Aleks' unlocked front door, he could hear the conversation he was having. It started with dim shouting, until James loudly shut the door. Then, Aleks got quiet, and he couldn't hear him  anymore.

"Aleks?" James shouted through out the house.

"One moment!" Aleks yelled back from what seemed like the bedroom.

James trudged to the bedroom and reached out for the door knob, but the door had swung open, revealing Aleks with James' phone.

"You left your phone."

"I know I did."

"Your friend called."

"What did they want?" James had a feeling he already knew.

"They wanted to know if you could hang out, but got too interested in who I was when I picked up."

"Oh," James' breath went shaky, "What was said?"

"Well, I said that I was your soul mate."

James ran his fingers through his hair. "And they said..."

"They said you were soul mates with a girl named Aleksandria."

James let out a breath he didn't know he was holding. "Listen, Aleks -"

"No. Don't you dare even try to fix this right now. I explained to them who I was and now they know. That is all that matters."

James furrowed his eyebrows for what seemed like the billionth time that day. "Really?"

"No."

And the door was slammed in his face.

WOAH. I DID THE THING. I DID THE THING AFTER LIKE 2 MONTHS.
