Emily's POV
...
It literally felt like hell.
And Daisy wasn't helping at all
We were in the school ground for our after school hockey practice.
Our Coach was making us run 10 laps around the ground and I was really pissed.
Our school ground was big, like really BIG.
I was a sweaty mess by now and we haven't even finished half of it yet, this was just our warm up!!!! Urggg...
Daisy kept asking me the exact same question for like half an hour now, and I kept giving her the exact same answer.
She wanted to know who my crush was, but I kept denying the fact that I have a crush.
"So... Tell me Em! I know that you are crushing on someone! You can't be not liking someone in freaking 8th grade" she whined
"No talking!" Yelled our coach Ms. Jenny.
I rolled my eyes at her but luckily she didn't see that.
"Keep it down will you. And no, I seriously don't have a crush on anyone" I said while catching up with the others.
My calves hurt really bad, but Ms. Jenny wouldn't let us go, especially me since I was the captain of the school's girls hockey team.
"Come on Em! I know that you are lying." Daisy whispered at me.
I desperately looked around for help and spotted a guy in athletics training, he was goodlooking and he was probably new too, so I assumed that It would do no harm in telling a small lie.
"Ok, but don't tell anyone.... I like that new guy.." I whispered to Daisy.
She squealed making everyone look at us weirdly.
"Sorry!" She squeaked.
I shook my head.
"omg omg omg!! My god, now I can make sure that my friend is straight" she whisper yelled.
I gave her a blank stare while I slowed down my pace and started to jog.
"Anyways, guess what?" She asked.
"What?" I asked breathlessly.
"You are just lucky to have me as your friend!"
I glared at her.
"Ok I was just kidding, but that's 100 percent true. So, I know his name!!" She squealed.
I nodded an ok.
She stopped mid track, I stopped to look back at her.
"What?? No 'thank you so much Daisy, you are the best friend in this universe and I'm so lucky to have you'?"
I shrugged "ok whatever" I resumed my jog.
She soon caught up with me," his name is Adrian. He's a new student who transferred from England. He's in section c" she completed it just as we assembled in front of Ms. Jenny.
"Ok! So today we won't be having a match" she said to all of us.
We groaned.
"Now go pick up your hockey sticks and I will show you how to trick your opponents, drink some water if you want." she continued.
I lazily went to my bag and picked up my water bottle to drink some water.
My eyes gazed the whole ground to find something interesting, a habit of mine.
They landed on the new boy, Adrian. I really have to admit that he was pretty good-looking, he had dark brown hair which was fell on his forehead, it was pretty long compared to the hair length of the other jocks and athletes in my school.
And he was lean built, well he didn't have much muscles but that was common for the 8th graders.
"So... Adrian huh?" Daisy nudged me with a teasing smile.
I rolled my eyes, but a blush rose up my cheeks for the first time in my entire life!!
Wow...
"Wow..." Daisy spoke my mind. "This is the first time I'm seeing you blush"
"Shut up" I spoke up.
" well, I have a feeling that this guy is going to make you blush more often from now" she said and jogged back to Ms. Jenny with her hockey stick in her hand.
I was flabbergasted, ok.... This was my first.
Then we went on with our usual hockey stuff,
I couldn't help myself so I stole some secret glances at Adrian.
But I had the feeling that he was never going to even spare a glance at me...
