Daisy ⬆️
Emily's POV
...
"Mom! I'm home!" I carelessly tossed my bag on the couch.
"Hey Em!" My sister Eva smiled. She was sitting on the couch with a big bag of chips opened on her lap.
"Hey, where's mom?" I wondered.
"She went out to get some groceries. Anddd... why are you early today?" She asked and returned to her bag of chips again.
"I didn't have practice, coach didn't come to school today" I said.
"Ok" she said.
I nodded and went up stairs to my room to change out of my uniform.
Yes, we had to wear uniforms. I know, I pity myself too.
But the advantage is that you didn't have to plan on an outfit everyday, you can just throw your uniform on and go to school.
Today was as tiring as any other day, so I decided to take a shower ultimately. My bathroom was fully white which consisted of a plain mirror with a sink and counter, a shower, a bath tub, a cabinet and under my feet was a purple fluffy rug. Some towels were neatly placed on the sink counter.
I looked at the mirror to find a very tired looking girl stare back. My usually smooth brown hair was messy and frizzy due to the long day. The colour of my eyes was a dark blue, it shone amongst all the other features on my face. I inherited it from my father.
The smell of my lemon shampoo filled the room. I reminded myself that this was just a quick shower and not to take a lot of time since I had loads of homework.
My major drawback was that I wore glasses, thick ones, I wasn't very proud of my body either, but all those days on the ground payed off pretty well, my skin was a little tanned to achieve that golden brown colour and I was pretty short for my age. 5 feet 1 inch is really short compared to all those giants in my school.
I wonder how they are so damn tall. Do they stuff something in their shoes to look so tall?
I took almost 10 minutes to come out, then I wore some light pink denim shorts and a mint green tank top.
My fashion sense isn't very good, but clothes are clothes right?
I finished the look off with my black rimmed glasses, not that I had another choice.
My mother said that she would allow me to use lens only after I turn 16 years old. So 2 more years to go! Yay....
"Hey Eva, mom home yet?" I asked my sister as I picked up my bag from the couch.
"Yeah! She's in the kitchen, putting away the groceries she brought from the store." She was watching Barbie life in the dream house. But what did you expect a 11 year old to watch?
I entered the kitchen to find my mom putting away some cheese. She didn't look very old, that's because she wasn't very old. Her family married her off at the age of 19, then she had me when she was 20 while graduating out of college.
"Hey honey! How was your day?" She smiled while placing the juice bottles in the refrigerator.
"Good!" I shrugged and started helping her.
"So what happened today?"
"Arabella invited me to a party in her house" I sighed.
"What?!!" She shrieked looking at me in horror.
I laughed at her reaction."mom don't be such a drama queen"
She shook her head " ok, but why did she do that? She is such a b-"
"Mom..." I gave her a warning look.
"What? I was going to say that she was such a brat!" She justified her words.
Arabella was once a very close friend of mine and so was her mother, my mom was close with them too. But her mother started complaining about how I was picking on her daughter, so my mom became pissed at her and that was the end of our friendship.
My mom and I agreed on not talking about them, because her mom was being completely bitchy to us, and we decided to act like the wiser ones and let go.
"Ok, so are you going?" She asked narrowing her eyes.
I shrugged "why not? I mean this is the first party after the school started and my friends wanted to go, plus we don't get invited to a lot of parties"
My mom sighed " ok, but be careful, when is it?"
"This Saturday" I said.
"Ok, again be careful." She said deep in thought.
I laughed "mom! Why are you so serious, it's not like they are going to bite my head off!"
"I'm just being careful" she smiled.
I turned around to leave and said " yeah, you sure are"
Then it took me almost an hour and a half to complete my home work.
I tried to attempt my math homework, but just by looking at the sums I felt as if I've watched a horror film all by myself.
I left that headache for tomorrow.
Well.. I didn't have anything to do now, so I opened my laptop and logged into my Facebook account.
There were a lot of new posts, but what caught my eye was the post from Arabella.
She posted a pic with the details of the party.
It was on Saturday at 7:00 pm. She even tagged a lot of people, whom I assumed she invited to the party.
My name was in it, including Daisy's, Natasha's, Alaska's, Paige's and several others', and suddenly I came across an unfamiliar name.
Adrian Cavallero .
I laid on my bed and propelled my elbow to support my head.
I had an internal argument, whether I should stalk him or not.
Well, looking at his page for a few minutes isn't called stalking, or is it?
His page was full of picture in which he was tagged, none of it was posted by him except for the profile picture, a lot of pretty looking girls were in the pictures with him, I huffed.
I don't know what was running through my mind when I clicked on the 'send friend request' option but I instantly regretted it.
My eyes widened, but I decided to play it cool, plus half of my friends were already in his friends list.
I spent some more time in STALKING his page. How more pathetic can I become?
I came across a picture in which Adrian was no older than 8 years old, he had a cheeky smile on, it was so cute!! My brain became incapable of processing things after looking at that picture, a stupid wide smile stretched across my face.
"Emily? Can you help me with diner?" I jumped at the voice of my mother and instantly shut the laptop.
"Yeah! Sure!" I squeaked at her.
"Ok.... " she looked at me suspiciously and went out of the room.
I waited until I heard her steps on the stairs and opened the laptop only to log out of my account and shut it again.
She was SO close to catch me drooling at a guy.
I put the laptop away and went down to help mom with the diner.
