Alice ⬆️
Emily's POV
...
Friday is my most favorite day of the week mostly because my friends and I can have a sleepover at someone's house.
I dragged my lazy butt out of the bed after lying there for a while, today I woke up before the alarm went off. So I hope the day will turn out good too. I grabbed my glasses off the night stand and wore it.
A loud bang awoke my senses, the sound came from downstairs, I frowned. What happened? I quickly rushed downstairs to see what it was about.
The sound startled me again, but this time I was a tiny bit prepared, the sound was coming from the kitchen. I panicked, what if a burglar entered my house?
I quietly tiptoed to the kitchen door and peeked inside.
My eyes widened at the sight, Eva was gobbling up all the cookies that was given to us by my grandma.
I stepped inside and put my hands on my hip.
"What do you think you are doing, young lady?" I asked with my eyes narrowed, shooting death glares.
She was caught red handed, her mouth was full and her eyes were wide.
She chocked on the cookie in her mouth, I patiently waited for her to recover, after she swallowed all that, I snatched the box of cookies and placed it in the cupboard.
She looked at me sheepishly, guilt all over her face.
"Umm... well.. you see..." she mumbled.
"Save it," I raised my hand to stop her "I'm calling mom and dad"
"N-no!! You can't do that!" She panicked.
"And why can't I?" I smiled slyly.
"B-because, because..." she trailed off.
"Ok, I won't tell if we make a deal" I smirked.
She frowned "what deal?"
"Hmmm.... let me think..." I thought about it for a while.
"Ok how about you give me that white dress of your which is too tiny for you" I said
"What? No way sis! Even if that dress is too small for me, I'm not gonna give that to you, I planned on wearing it to my first date" and as soon as those words left her mouth, her eyes widened and she put a fist on her mouth.
My eyes widened in reaction "oh my my, what do we have here?" I circled around her viciously, like all the villains do in movies.
But, it was hard to believe that my 11 year old sister who watches Barbie movies got a date and I still haven't got one.
I sighed "ok then I should go tell mom about that date" I turned to go upstairs.
She grabbed my wrist and looked at me pleadingly.
"I'll give you the dress, but can you please cover for me?"
I pursed my lips "when is it?"
Her eyes lit up "this Saturday, the same time around that party you are having"
"Oh... WAIT how did you know about that party?" I narrowed my eyes.
"Everyone knows in our school, and kids in my class practically begged Arabella to invite them."
"Ok, I'll help you. But you have to give me that dress"
She nodded " deal accepted!"
We fist bumped.
I turned around to leave but looked at her " and one more thing, you looked like a pig, stuffing those cookies in your mouth like that, you have to apply a lot of make up for your date!" I said and ran to my room laughing when I heard her yell my name.
It was already 6:00 am, the normal time when I wake up.
So I walked into my shower and finished my morning routine which consisted of the normal thing which all the normal people do in the morning.
Dad dropped us at school and went to work, the whole time Eva looked very uncomfortable because I kept making kissy faces at her while dad didn't notice.
We parted our ways once we were inside the school building.
I snickered at her when she blushed at a guy who blushed at her.
Omg!! So cute!!! I ship them.
The guy had blond hair which fell on his forehead, I remember him from the junior football team, his name was Max.
I hope he doesn't break my sister's heart, or else he has to deal with a very angry me.
"Hey Em!" Natasha greeted me out side of our class, she looked muck better than the last time I saw her.
"Hey Nat!" I ran to her.
"So, did you do your math homework?" She asked me snickering.
"When did I ever?" I gave an eye roll.
"So did you?" I asked her
"Um.. yeah!" She beamed at me.
"That's so unfair! Now Mrs.kale is going to kill me, you weren't even supposed to do your homework! Like seriously, you were supposed to rest the entire day! Why are you doing this to me?" I ended my rant when we entered the class room.
"At least give me your notebook" I sighed.
"Here you go!" She laughed at me and handed her book, which I gratefully took.
I cradled the notebook in my arms as if it was a newborn baby and gently placed it on my table.
She laughed at me.
Alaska entered the room and sat next to me in our usual place.
"Hey! So did you pick our your dress for tomorrow night?" She asked excitedly.
"What about tomorrow night?" Natasha asked looking confused.
"Didn't Paige tell you?" I asked surprised.
"No?" She frowned.
"Well, there's this party tomorrow at Arabella's place and she invited all of us including you. So are you going?" Alaska asked Natasha.
She thought for a few seconds and said "I need to ask my mom"
We nodded understanding her, but her mom never allows her to go anywhere except to our houses for sleepovers.
The went very slowly, I was completely tired, and finally it was over. It was time for hockey practice, Daisy and I picked up our stuff and went into the girls changing room to change into our hockey team uniforms.
It was a blue and white top and skirt, kind of like the cheer leader outfit, but it was cute and practical.
It was way cuter than the ones Mrs.jenny chose for us, she wanted us to wear a vomit green top and red pants. I know, nightmarish right? But the girls from the hockey team decided that it was not what they had in mind, so her two favorite students, which is Arabella and me, went to convince her and change her mind. Of course, I did all the talking and convincing while she just stood their like the mighty lord that she thinks she is. The design was Arabella, but I gotta admit that it was pretty cool.
We had to wear short white tights inside the skirt because it was 3 to 4 inches above the knee.
Daisy braided her hair, while I tried to put my hair in a high pony tail and failed miserably. The fact that my hair was thick and long didn't help either, it weights down and feels like my hair in the front was being ripped apart. So I finally decided on a side braid just like Daisy's.
One thing I did not know is that, why was I extra cautious about my appearance.
I shrugged the question off and went on with the practice.
There was that feeling again, something in my stomach. I didn't feel like puking or anything, but the sensation was overwhelming.
We all started our warm up, daisy jogged beside me.
"So, are you going to Arabella's party tomorrow?" I asked her.
"Yeah! Of course! Who in their right mind would not?" She tried to talk but it came out in short breaths.
"Did you pick a dress?" I asked feeling hard to talk myself.
"Um.. no. What do you say if we went out to dress shopping before that sleepover of yours?" She suggested.
"Hmmm... good idea, will it be okay if I called my friends too?" I asked her.
"Yeah sure! I wouldn't mind going with them" she nodded her head.
"Perfect!" I smiled.
We finished our warm up, and I was a sweaty mess. Daisy who was beside me looked more exhausted than me, that was because she was a little bit fat, no a little TOO fat.
But she was one of my closest friends in this school.
"Okay everybody, today you get to play a match" Mrs. Jenny said and smiled.
We all cheered.
"Ok, I want Emily and Arabella to step forward," which we did "now select your team" she said.
I picked Daisy first to be my goal keeper, and Arabella picked Alice, who was a fast runner.
I picked people who are good defenders, but Arabella took all the good offence.
We tossed the coin, and my team got the opening. I went to my position as the centre-forward facing Arabella.
I smiled and said "all the best"
She gave me a smirk "you too". Then we shook hands and started the game.
At first I passed the ball to Jessie, who I decided to make my partner for offence.
She dribbled it skilfully from Alice and passed it to me who was ahead of her, waiting for her to pass the ball.
I pushed the ball inside the goalpost once I was near it, it went right under the legs of the goal keeper, my team cheered. Arabella glared at me while I smirked.
I felt like some one was watching me while I and Daisy did a hi-fi. It was none other than Adrian, he was watching with amusement on his face. I smirked and went back to my position.
This time it was Arabella's time to start the game.
Immediately after coach blew the whistle, she ran swiftly towards the goal with the ball in her control all by herself. Miranda blocked her way while Stacey snatched the ball with her stick. I smirked to myself, how more foolish can Arabella become? She had no one to help her. The ball was passed to Jessie who passed it to me.
We kept dodging everyone, finally the ball was with me but Alice blocked my way. I looked around for anyone from my team, my eyes quickly found Stacey's but I looked around for a faster person, then I saw Jessie waiting for me to pass the ball, I hit it towards her and she stopped the ball with no difficulty and scored a goal for our team.
We cheered again, Jessie came to me and said "thank you so much for trusting me"
I nodded and smiled at her. Team work was all about trust and mutual understanding.
The match went for another 15 minutes when coach blew a whistle, we all stopped in our tracks. The score was 3-1, so obviously my team won.
Arabella's nose flared in anger, she stomped to me and sneered. I rose my eyebrows amused.
Her sneer turned into a forced smile, "congratulations Emily! You won only because I let you" and she turned around on her heels and jogged back to the changing rooms.
I shrugged it off, her ego is the size of an elephant.
Daisy came beside me "what was that all about?" She asked looking at the direction Arabella stormed off.
I shrugged "just some overflowing of jealousy" I snickered.
"Hahaha, she really is dumb" Daisy laughed while shaking her head.
...
Once again, thank you for reading my book!
