the next few mornings, hoseok began to try and come up with reasons to explain the boy's behavior.

maybe he was afraid of getting hit by cars?

but then he really only did that at that specific crosswalk, all the other crosswalks hoseok has seen him cross, he had done it at his normal walking speed.

maybe he had someone waiting for him?

hoseok immediately shook that off because for one, he had never seen anyone accompanying the boy, and two, he still didn't walk fast after that.

none of his other ideas were reasonable either, so he asked his friends.

"maybe there's a sewer under the street or some exhaust that smells really bad?" namjoon suggested, and hoseok shook his head.

"but then i would smell it too."

"maybe he's scared of you or doesn't like you? you said he's looked at you before." yoongi shrugged, and hoseok shook his head again.

"then he would speed the whole way, but he only does that for that one crosswalk."

"maybe he's hungry?" seokjin tried, making hoseok sigh and put his head down while his other two friends just looked at the eldest with incredulous looks on their faces.
