Raise a glass

Today was the big day. Ant was getting married, to Lisa.

Dec was walking round his house getting ready, he kept feeling like he was going to break down and he didn't know why. Maybe he felt like he was losing his best mate? Maybe it's the fact Ant is settling down and he's not? He doesn't exactly know, but whatever it is he wants the feeling to stop today isn't the day to feel like this.

"You ready Ant" Dec asked straightening Ants tie, Ant didn't dare look at Dec it hurt to much especially today "ready as I'll ever be" Ant said just loud enough to hear him. Dec, he felt his eyes tear up, he took a deep breathe in and walked out to the car feeling like he's just lost everything "alright James that's us mate" Dec said getting in the other side of Ant "alright boys...let's get you married Anthony" he smiled back to them in the back seats

In the car Dec was a nervous wreck, his leg never stilled. He was looking out the window just staring into space. He was thinking about how far him and Ant have come. Being two lads from the north east, they'd never thought they'd be where they are now. Ants smile could light up a dark room, that smile he only does towards Dec makes him get a fuzzy feeling. The glint in his eye when he's laughing makes Decs heart burst with love just pure love. Dec can't describe it how he feels towards ant it's indescribable. If he could describe it he'd probably say he feels like he's walking on air when he's with him. They arrived at the church and Ant was staring to panic and get nervous "I don't think I can do this" Ant panicked running his hands over his face as Dec undone his seat belt off and sat on his side to look at ant, the love of his life, "Ant" Dec smiled "you've been with her since early 20's what's there to be nervous about" Dec asked as Ants face dropped too "I'm so sorry Declan I am" Dec just winked at him and smiled "don't think about it okay you're happy I can't hold that against you" Dec said feeling his heart break "I just...it was never going to work was it" Ant said trying to explain what happened between them all those years ago "please" Dec closed his eyes to remain calm "please just don't try and explain anything you met Lisa and left me" Dec got emotional, he closed his eyes to remain calm then plastered on a smile "I broke your heart though" Ant said sadly "let's not dwell eh? Not today" Dec pleaded feeling his heart shatter into a million peaces, the man he loves, is now getting married to the girl of his dreams "come on" Dec said buttoning his suit jacket up and got out the car, Ant, he sat and thought for a minute, wondering if he's done the wrong thing in marrying Lisa. He loves Dec, but It'd never work, not with them being famous

"I do" Ant said holding Lisa's hands, Dec watched from the front row, the love of his life now is legally married to someone else, he's just promised to love her forever and always protect her. It crushed Dec to hear those words leave Ants mouth he never thought this day would come and now it has he can't cope, it's all getting to him. All he wanted was a beer, and now since they're heading to the party that's exactly what he's doing

"Hello...me again" Dec chirped up standing up in front of everyone picking up his glass of champagne, he just looked at everyone, how is meant to give a best man speech when he and Ant knows there's so much more than best mates "Lisa couldn't of picked a better man...sounds cliché I kna but it's true" Dec warmly smiled, he didn't dare look to his left as he knew ant was looking up at him "he's the best person I've ever had the pleasure of meeting, Ant is a caring, loving, kind, sometimes idiotic man" Dec said as everyone laughed at the last part "honestly love good luck he can be a right plonker" Dec laughed looking at Lisa "today he begins a journey with a amazing lass" Dec said finding it hard to stay standing and say them words, ant had tears in his eyes he knew how hard this was for Dec "so please join me and raise a glass" Dec sadly smiled, not that anyone noticed but Ant, "to the new happy couple Mr and Mrs McPartlin" Dec said loudly as everyone raised their glasses and drank from them, as Dec drank from his he looked down to his left and seen ant looking up at him, tears in his eyes 'I'm sorry' he mouthed Dec instantly dismissed it and downed his drink, then he friendly winked at Ant showing he's okay.

He's not he's just lost his everything.
