The next few... hours? Days? I couldn't tell – were blurry and disoriented. I wasn't stupid, I knew I was probably now in hospital and the white and the figures around me was the hospital room I was in with nurses and doctors checking up on me. I remembered a woman speaking to me occasionally whom I assumed to be a nurse or doctor but I could never figure out what she was saying.

Until I finally managed to open my eyes when she was talking to me.

"Anastasia? Ana?" She asked in a comforting voice and knelt down next to bed I was lying in. I made a noise in recognition I was now awake and started to sit up. My eyes adjusted to the lighting and I could see normally again. The woman was just your average hospital worker who was now smiling at me. "Glad you're awake, how are you feeling?"

I had to think about it for a second, trying to get my mouth to move again. I cleared my throat and answered, "Alright my head's pounding though." I said slowly.

"That's ok, I'll go get you something for that." She assured me and started to leave. "Don't get up."

"Wait!" I stopped her before she reached the door and she turned around. "How long have I been here?"

"Well they brought you in Saturday night and today its Tuesday so about 2 and a half days." She shrugged and reached for the door handle. "Oh and I'll let your boyfriend know you've woke up." She said quickly then left without shutting the door behind her. It took me a while to figure out what she said as she was talking so fast. After what must've been at least a minute I looked up toward the door.

"Boyfriend?" I spoke aloud in confusion was squinted eyes. And just as I said that, as if my magic or just unfortunate coincidence, some guy comes nearly running into the room, looking completely disoriented himself.

Then there were a few seconds where we sort of just stared, me with furrowed eyebrows and slightly parted lips, trying to think of the words to say and him blinking way more often than usual like he'd just woken up and stumbling a little struggling to keep his balance.

He opened his mouth to say something but then closed it again. This happened several times before I spoke up.

"Who the hell are you?!" I nearly shouted it. His face immediately looked less disoriented and more confused like me. He shut the door gently then quickly turned back round.

"Boyfriend?" He asked, repeating what I'd said earlier.

"The nurse told me she was going to tell my boyfriend I woke up but I don't have one." I blurted quickly.

"That's funny, a nurse just came to me telling me my girlfriend woke up." He replied simply, shoving his hands in his pocket.

"How did you know to come here?" I wondered, keeping close eye on his every move.

"Come on Anastasia you can stop messing now, it's me." He chuckled and started walking toward the bed. As he did though a moved backward in the bed further and pulled the covers over me. I could easily tell this hurt him as he stepped back again.

I have to admit, he did look strangely familiar but I was still a little disoriented to tell. His black slightly spiked up hair, his pale skin tone, the small almost button nose and distinct, high cheekbones. His eyes were the most familiar though. They were rounded and framed by dark eyelashes. Deep hazel with slightly dilated pupils, specked with hints of dark gold.

Just then, the nurse came back in behind the guy.

"I got your medicine." She announced and handed me two pills and a glass of water. "Well you can sit down you know." She gestured to the guy who was still standing. He took the offer and sat on a chair next to the bed I was in as I was still drinking water. Closer, I could now see him better and his features more clearly. And somehow I still felt like I knew him but I couldn't pin point it.

"So when can I go home?" I asked the nurse.

"Probably later today. We'll have to check you're still ok and probably book you weekly appointments with a therapist in your area. You did try and... you know..." Her voice went quiet.

"Kill myself?" I breathed out quickly finishing her sentence. "Well it wasn't for god damn fun..." I said under my breath but I think the guy heard as he looked at the floor and chewed the inside of his lip.

"Well I'll leave you two to it. And also, more than one person can come in now so your friends can come say hi, Brian." She smiled to the guy then left in a hurry.

Brian... Brian? Where had I heard that? How did I know him? And how did he know me?

"Brian... Brian what? Brian..." I said under my breath, thinking out loud but again he heard.

"Yeah? That's me." He said moving slightly closer. I looked up to him, scanning his face over with my eyes, repeating that name. "Anastasia what's going on with you?"

And it was those few words that kicked my memory back in. That voice. That face. That name.

"Brian. I... I know you?" I said half as a statement, half a question.

"Yes. Brian Haner. You are Anastasia Hunter. Why don't you remember me?" He said the last part sort of disgusted but mostly hurt. I still couldn't fully remember.

"Yes. I know. I know you. I recognise your name, you voice, your face but I don't know. I can't remember you." Tears started filling in my eyes as I could see how sick and tired he was getting.

"Anastasia! Stop! I'm fed up of this joke! I thought you'd be happy to see me again! Or do you still hate me over that petty thing with Michelle?!" He stood up but didn't get any closer. His voice was raised but he just walked out and slammed the door behind him.

Then I couldn't help it. I burst into tears and pulled my legs up to my chest, burying my face in my knees. I stayed like it for at least 10 minutes until my tears stopped and I was left staring at the patterned bed sheets and sipping water every so often.
