Opening my eyes, an unsettled feeling washed over me. My body felt lighter, yet my lungs felt heavier. Chest rising and falling with my breathing, it felt as if there was a weight resting on my ribs.
My breathing quickened once I realised something. My eyes were open, yet all I saw was complete darkness. The darkness wasn't like my room enveloped in night's absence of light. It was like an evil darkness, something lurking within and watching me.
My fingers moved at my side, trying to figure out what I was laying down on. Only feeling a chilly, hard ground I then knew I definitely wasn't in my carpeted bedroom.
Something urged me to stand up, a gravitational pull almost that forced my body upwards.
My breath left my mouth in a gasp as I was now standing, my bare feet numb and the least of my worries. Right now I wanted to figure out where the hell I even was.
My arms stretched forward, feeling for anything. Instead of feeling nothing, I did touch something. Or I thought I did when I went to touch it again but it wasn't there. I didn't know what I felt, all I knew is it was like a weird entity I could push my hand through. My hand had gotten reasonably colder and squashed as it was pushed through. But now, I didn't feel anything.
Not wanting to be the stereotypical girl in horror movies, I didn't bother yelling out a 'hello'. A part of me didn't want to know what responded.
Convinced I was dreaming, I simply decided to just walk forward blindly. My body was covered in goosebumps from the cold breeze that whispered against my skin. At least, I hoped it was the breeze that sounded like it was whispering and not anything else.
I got more afraid by the second. I felt wide awake. Was I dreaming? Or was I actually awake?
A dim light struck in front of me and I stopped, startled and curious as I watched on. I could just about make out a figure stood about ten feet away from me. The faint light behind it making whoever it was look sinister.
I scanned the person. Slightly taller than me and the body shape of a man was all I could make out through the darkness.
It suddenly dawned on me how screwed I was. I had no weapon and was in my pjs.
I debated on whether to turn around and dip it, hopefully finding a door or an exit of some sort. I didn't know whether this was a prank or a kidnapping, but what I did know is I didn't want to be around long enough to find out.
Before I could move a muscle, the man spoke. His voice resonating throughout the darkness, traveling across my body and soul, igniting more fear in me.
"Park Isla."
I didn't decide to reply. Frankly, I didn't know if I could talk, my mouth was opening and closing like a goldfish.
His body was still and almost lifeless how unmoving he was. He seemed like a statue and his posture made him seem way more intimidating.
"Do you know where you are?" He asked, voice just as chilling and bone shattering as it was before. It wasn't particularly deep, just demonic.
I shook my head slowly, making a plan in my mind when the right moment to run was.
A small light seemed to materialise by his chin, as if a torch was pointing upwards. I saw his face. An emotionless look, painted with a smirk. His eyes were a soulless black, almost as if they were just holes going into his skull. His features were soft, yet his demeanour suggested his personality wasn't as soft. The horrific aura and the angle of the light made his face look sharp.
