Chapter 15

Exams are coming up. And Kyungsoo is stressing. Hardcore. Let's just say he isn't the best under pressure. Although they're a few weeks away, Kyungsoo can't help but devote every single minute he has to study. He had to succeed in his exams to get into his dream University.

"Soo" Jongin whined for the 5th time, getting ignored. Kyungsoo's head was buried in his textbook, completely ignoring Jongin. "Hmm," he hummed in response. "Come on, Kyungsoo, put that away and eat dinner" Jongin was generally concerned. Kyungsoo had been avoiding looking after his health and it was starting to concern Jongin. "I will...later" he absent minded responded, making Jongin roll his eyes.

"That's it" he closed the textbook and slid it under Kyungsoo's bed. "Hey!-" Kyungsoo was cut off. "Eat. Study later" Jongin sternly cut in, making Kyungsoo pout and pick up his box of Chinese food. Jongin held back a smile at Kyungsoo's adorable expression. Kyungsoo quickly tried to devour his food so he could go back to what he was doing. 

"There. Done. Now can I have my textbook back?" He asked, giving Jongin googly eyes.

"No. I need to ask you something" Jongin bluntly responded, trying not to give in. Kyungsoo sighed, "Fine. What is it?" He asked. "So, I was maybe wondering if you'd like to go on a date?" Jongin had put thought into this question, to be precise how to casually ask Kyungsoo. 

Kyungsoo's face lit up as he smiled. "Yeah, sure" Kyungsoo responded. "Great. How's Friday? Since we don't have school on Friday" Jongin asked and Kyungsoo nodded, feeling extremely happy. He couldn't control the smile his heart-shaped lips shifted into. Jongin had finally asked him out and Kyungsoo was happy. He'd been waiting for a while now.

Jongin excused himself to the bathroom and Kyungsoo tried to calm his emotions. He didn't know what to do, he wanted to scream like a teenage girl but tried to control the urge. He pulled his textbook out from under the bed and started studying again. A few minutes later, Jongin appeared in the room again and groaned when he saw Kyungsoo had buried himself in the textbook again.

"Soo, I'm not here to see you study" he whined to which Kyungsoo dismissed with a wave of his hand. "Alright, fine" Jongin muttered, walking over to where his jacket was sitting and began to put it back on as he fished his phone out.

"Alright then, I'm leaving. Bye" Jongin said as he began to walk out the door. "What? Why?" Kyungsoo's head shot up. "Because I came here to hang out with you not watch you study" Jongin responded making Kyungsoo's eyes widen as he realized what he had just done. Kyungsoo threw his textbook onto the floor, "Study what? Study who? Pft" He said and Jongin tried to hide his laugh. 

"Stay? Please" Kyungsoo pouted as he gave Jongin puppy eyes. Jongin rolled his eyes, "Fine" he muttered as he took his jacket back off and sat beside Kyungsoo who clung onto Jongin like a koala. "Thanks Nini. Can we watch a movie?" Kyungsoo asked making Jongin smile at the nickname. He'd never let anyone call him that, not even his own mother but Kyungsoo was starting to become an exception. Jongin nodded as Kyungsoo pulled his laptop out from under the bed.

A lot had changed between the two. For the past couple of weeks, they'd become more affectionate towards each other, almost acting like a couple. Almost. But they were mainly affectionate behind closed doors or with subtle and small gestures. It had been almost 3 weeks since they had kissed for the first time.

Jongin turned the room light off as he joined Kyungsoo under his blanket. They decided on watching a random movie, whichever one comes up in the suggestions. Kyungsoo rested his head on Jongin's shoulder placing his laptop on top of Jongin's thighs instead of his own.

They watched but Kyungsoo didn't make it through the whole movie as he fell asleep, curled up to Jongin's side. Jongin smiled at the sleeping boy and paused the movie. He carefully got up and properly draped the blanket over Kyungsoo's body. Jongin carefully removed the male's thick-framed glasses and placed them on the nightstand before exiting the room.
