Chapter 24

The sun shined down onto Jongin's eyelids, causing his eyes to squint open. Yawning, he stretched his limbs and flipped over to check the time on his phone. 7:40 am, it read. His eyes travelled down to his lock screen, a photo of Kyungsoo with his glasses and cute button nose. It was when Jongin caught him off guard and took a photo. He smiled at the photo, wondering if his boyfriend is awake yet or not.

Kyungsoo had been feeling sick for the past few days and as much as he wanted to stay with him, Kyungsoo was, unfortunately, talking to his parents last night in his room. So, instead of staying, he gave them some privacy and came into the guest room only to fall asleep.

The door slightly opened, catching Jongin's attention. Kyungsoo popped his head in, checking if he's boyfriend is still asleep. Jongin caught his eye and Kyungsoo smiled, entering the room and closing the door behind him. He ran to the bed Jongin was laying in and picked the duvet up before laying down and covering himself with the duvet. Jongin chuckle, instantly wrapping his arms around Kyungsoo, heart speeding up at the sight of the smaller.

"Good morning, Beautiful" Jongin smiled down, planting a kiss on Kyungsoo's forehead. "Morning, Nini" Kyungsoo responded, burrying his head in Jongin's chest as he also wrapped his arms around the taller.

"You're warm, I like that. I was cold all alone" Kyungsoo's muffled voice said as he was embraced with the familiar scent. Jongin smiled, resting his chin on Kyungsoo's head. 

"How are you feeling now?" Jongin asked. "It's getting better" Kyungsoo responded but soon after he sneezed followed by another one. 

"Wow, it's totally getting better" Sarcasm dripped from his voice. Kyungsoo just shrugged, "It's better with you here," His voice was muffled, making Jongin's heart do a weird flip.

"I can hear your heartbeat" Kyungsoo giggled at the fastening thumps. Jongin pushed him away slightly, holding Kyungsoo away from his chest. But, Kyungsoo clung to him like a koala, laughing at Jongin's actions. He soon gave up and let his boyfriend cling to him.

"Nini!" Kyungsoo's eyes instantly lit up. "Yeah?" Jongin responded, confused as to what triggered him. 

"It's Christmas!" He exclaimed, sneezing afterwards. "Bless you. And yeah it is" Jongin smiled. "Oh, God! It's our first Christmas together...and, of course, I have to be sick" his voice flattened and a pout replaced his smile.

"Hey, it's alright if you're sick, as long as we get to spend time together" Jongin cupped Kyungsoo's cheeks, speaking gently. Kyungsoo sighed, nodding his head. "Baby, your cheeks are burning up again" concern laced Jongin's voice as he felt Kyungsoo's cheeks and forehead. 

"Did you take any medicine?" He asked, sitting up. "I did last night but it's beginning to wear off" he responded as Jongin nodded, instantly getting out of bed. "Wait here, I'll get you something to eat then medicine" Jongin rushed out of the room.

He went downstairs and into the kitchen. Seeing the cook there, he greeted her and continued doing what he came to do. Jongin managed to find eggs and cheese by himself. 

"Can I help you with anything?" She asked and Jongin just smiled, politely denying, "No, thank you, I'm just making something for Kyungie to eat before feeding him medicine" he explained and she nodded, smiling.

He waited for the frying pan to heat up before cracking the eggs in it along with cheese and mushrooms. While it cooked, he toasted bread. He went back to the omlette and waited till it was done cooking. Taking it out, he silently thanked his mum for the cooking lessons she gave him. The bread finished just in time and he placed both the items on a tray. Jongin then made green tea for Kyungsoo and also placed it on the tray along with a banana.
