Unveil the Secrets

Prologue

I am studying in one of the prestigious universities in Manila. I am taking up Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. Being the only daughter of the two most influential people in the field of medicine, it is expected of me to follow my parents’ footsteps. But my heart is set on a different line of work. I love to debate, love to fight for the rights of those who are impoverished; in short, I want to be a lawyer.

Audrey Lorraine Ramos is my best friend. Mysterious dark eyes, slightly upturned nose, full red lips and drop dead gorgeous body and also a sensible, funny and witty individual. I grew up with Rain because we live close to each other. In fact, her house is just 2 blocks away from mine, like there is just one house between ours. We live in this fancy subdivision where everyone knows who’s who. Also, our parents know each other because they all go to the same high school and have been friends ever since. Rain knows all my secrets and flaws. I love her so much and I trust my life with her.

Everything in my life is dull and flat until I met him. He spun my world out of control and everything felt out of balance. Now, he’s gone and I am left there hanging. I struggle to regain my balance but every time I try to stand up, I fell on my knees. I am desperate, until someone came back, ease me up and help me build my life that has fallen to pieces.

I am Cassandra Cortez or simply Cassey. Pretty, model built body, smart; that is how they usually describe me. But I say:  “that behind every façade lies a whole different person.”
