Suddenly, Nate is surprised to see the basement door open and someone he knows standing in the doorway. Nate backs up. The person looks shocked to see Nate there.

"Becca?"

"Nate!" Becca whispers as she enters the basement and shuts the door behind her. "What are you doing here?!"

"I honestly do not know." Nate says. "The mysterious serial killer sent me here because I tried to kill him. I guess as revenge, trying to get me to kill you to spare the rest of my loved ones and family."

Becca gives Nate a shocked look.

"You were going to kill me?" Becca asks.

Nate looks at Becca with a worried expression on his face.

FIVE DAYS EARLIER

Nate hears a knock on his door. It reminds him of two days ago when Becca came for a surprise visit. He was drunk and she came begging for his help. She finally believed he was right about people coming back 8 minutes after they died. She mentioned her close cousin that died and came back. Nate reminded her she will be next. Becca tried to ask for his help but he refused because he said that there was nothing he could do.

Another knock occurs at Nate's door. He rolls his eyes and gets up off the couch. He is drinking...again. A lot...again. So he walks a wobbly line over to the door to see who it is.

He opens the door and sees Becca standing there.

"Why you again?" Nate rolls his eyes as he tries to walk to the couch as Becca walks in and shuts the door behind her.

"You ask why?" Becca says, clearing her throat.

"Yeah, what of it?" Nate says, picking up a drink again.

Becca walks over to him and grabs the drink.

"Honestly I know you're gonna hate me and that might not ever change. But I have to tell you something that has never changed." Becca says, clearing her throat again. "I love you. You know that. I still do...and that means I care about you. A lot. I can't help myself but help you through this difficult time."

"Wow. That has never changed but you're suddenly here for me when you haven't been in what feels like forever." Nate says sarcastically.

"Nate, I'm not perfect, I know." Becca says. "But I'm really concerned about your drinking."

Nate rolls his eyes, crosses his arms, and looks away.

"Ugh." Nate groans.

"I've already taken the liberty for you to see a doctor about it." Becca says.

"Taken the liberty?!" Nate says, looking at her, pissed. "Bitch, you're my ex!! We're not even dating!! I don't know you!!"

Nate pauses and thinks for a second.

"Hell. Well, I wish I didn't know you!!" Nate huffs and puffs.

Tears come to Becca's eyes as she tries to dismiss the comment, at least being aware that he was drunk.

"Here is his card and I wrote your appointment time on the back." Becca says, handing him the card. "Please go. You need this. He's not gonna send you to an AA meeting immediately or some shit. He will really help you and give you options. Even the option to not do anything about it, but that's up to you. All I ask is that at least you go to see what he offers, okay? Please?"

"Maybe, but I doubt it." Nate responds. "I'll think about it."

"Alright." She says. "You have five days."

"Five days." He repeats under his breath, considering actually going to the appointment, deep down understanding his problem is very real and needs fixing.

"Five days."
