The Nerd and The Bad Boy

Prologue

    In the city of Summerville lived a family as known as the Darks. They lived happily surrounded by trees and a crystal clear lake. Mrs. Dark, who was the wife of Mr. Dark, was tending to the garden in the front yard. She smiled happily as she watered the flowers and pulled out weeds while humming a soft tune to herself. "Mama! Mama!" shouted a cute little voice from a distance. Mrs. Dark turned and smiled, seeing her son, Shadow, running towards her with a happy smile on his face and a bouquet of flowers in his hand. She held out her hand to him as he jumped into her arms and hugged her tightly. She giggled and hugged her son back.

    "Mama, I picked you some flowers from the lake!" he said as he held out the flowers to his mother.

    She smiled as she took the flowers and ruffled his quills gently. "Thank you, sweetie. Now, go play...Mommy has to finish taking care of the garden. Shadow nodded as he ran off to the lake. She waved to him, then continued tending to the garden. Shadow ran to the lake with a happy smile on his face. Once he reached the lake, he sat down near the edge and took off his shoes, dipping his feet in the water. He looked towards the sky. He believed that one day his life will change forever. He believed that he belonged here. He wanted nothing more than this life he has now.

    Suddenly, Shadow felt a presence walk up to him and stop in his tracks. He turned and looked up to see a blue hedgehog staring down at him. he smirked evilly at him. Shadow's eyes widened as he pupils shrunk in size. He raised his hand and slapped it across his face, leaving a red hand print on his cheek. Shadow then fell over and cried in pain as he held his cheek. The blue hedgehog then started kicking and punching him in the stomach, the face, and in the back. Shadow cried out for help, but he knew he was too far away for his mother to hear him.

He felt helpless...

He felt pain...

He felt...Alone...

    He thought his life would stay the same and forever be in utter happiness, but he thought wrong. After meeting the hedgehog who continued to kick and punch him countless times, would change that life he desired will be crushed beneath his feet.
