    Shadow and Silver finally reached the nurse's office as they walked through the door. The nurse, Ms.Vanilla, looking up and gasped in horror seeing Silver holding an injured Shadow. She stood up quickly and ran up to them. "My chaos, what on earth happened?" she asked slightly in a panic. Silver looked up at Ms. Vanilla and frowned a bit. "Shadow was hit in the face with a ball in the gym..." he said. Vanilla bent down and looked at Shadow, who covered his nose and looked at her with pain in his eyes. "Oh dear, let me see the damage Shadow...I hope your nose is not broken..." she said with a kind smile planted on her face. Shadow nodded as he carefully removed his had and showed his bloody nose to her. Ms. Vanilla looked at Shadow nose. 

"It doesn't seem like it's broken, but you should come with me to the back..." Vanilla said. 

    Shadow nodded as he let go of Silver and walked to the back, where the medical beds were. Vanilla looked at Silver and smiled kindly. "You are free to go back to class Silver... Thank you so much for your help~" she said. Silver nodded as he turned and walked out of the nurse's office. Vanilla stood up and walked towards the back of the office to find Shadow sitting on one of the beds. She then pulled up a chair next to him and sat down. "Now, let me treat that bloody nose of yours so you can feel better and less messy~," she said with a tiny laugh. Shadow looked at her and watched her carefully as she opened a drawer on the side of the bed and pulled out some alcohol, cotton balls, and some bandages. Shadow uncovered his nose and looked at his hand, seeing it shine bright red with his blood. 

    Ms. Vanilla then carefully and gently cleaned Shadow's nose and blood off his face with the alcohol, the began wrapping his nose gently, still making sure he can breathe. Shadow winced a little but sighed. Vanilla then smiled and put the used materials in the trash and the rest back into the drawer. "There, you're all done~ Do you want me to call your parents to come get you while you rest?" she asked. "No, I'll just rest up for a bit, then continue my day at school..." he replied. Vanilla frowned a bit. "Are you sure?" she pressured. Shadow nodded. She sighed and nodded back as she stood up.

 "Well, call me whenever you need anything... Oh and you can go wash your hands at the sink over there near the blue cabinet," she said.

    Shadow nodded once more as he stood up and walked towards the sink. After a minute of washing his hands, he dried them, then went back to the bed and laid down, kicking his shoes off. He then pulled the blankets over him and turned on his side and nuzzled into the pillow. Tears began to form as he thought about Sonic. Why does he hate him? What did he do to deserve such horrible treatment....? Shadow sniffled as he closed his eyes and fell asleep.

    While Shadow was sleeping, Vanilla quietly stepped out of the office for a bit. While she was gone, a figure quietly walked in and towards the back and up to Shadow's bed. He then pulled up a chair and sat in front of Shadow's face, watching him sleep. Shadow, who was sleeping soundly, felt a presence near him. He shifted a bit as he opened his eyes a tiny bit to have a peek at his intruder. What he saw was Sonic the hedgehog sitting in front of him, watching him carefully. In his mind, Shadow was scared and thought Sonic has come back to get his revenge for getting him in trouble. Sonic the reached his hand out to Shadow. Shadow mentally panicked and closed his eyes tightly. Sonic was going to hit him, but Shadow was shocked to feel Sonic's hand land on him and rubbed his ear and quills gently.

    He was confused. He thought Sonic was going hit him, instead, he's....petting him ever so gently. "Shadow..." Sonic said with a soft whisper. Shadow carefully listened, pretending he was still sleeping. "If only you knew how much I loved you...Ever since we were little I loved you... It hurts me to hurt you day after day...If only I could have told you my feelings earlier...." he said softly as he rubbed his quills. Shadow was completely confused. He thought Sonic hated him, but now...Sonic says he loves him... Then the next thing shocked Shadow the most when he felt Sonic lean over and kiss his forehead and cheek gently. "I have to go now... I can't stay..." he said as he stood up and walked away after putting the chair back to where he found it. After the nurse office door closed Shadow opened his eyes and sat up. He had a fresh splash of blush on his face as he touched his cheek and forehead.

Sonic loves him...

Tears formed in his eyes as he curled up in a ball, lying his head on his knees.

His heart beat fast in his chest as the tears fell...

It hurts...

It really hurts...
