The Nerd and The Bad Boy

    Shadow stared down as Sonic as a slight blush lingered on his cheeks. Should he consider forgiving him and go out with him? Or should he say no and yell at him?

"Sonic..." Shadow said softly.

    Sonic looked up at Shadow and looked at him with hopeful emerald eyes. "Yes Shadow...?" he replied. Shadow looked down shyly. "I...I want to forgive you...I do, but it's gonna take some time for me to get used to you...." Shadow said as he rubbed his left arm. Sonic frowned sadly and stood up, looking down. "I see... I guess it was pointless to even as for your forgiveness...I'll just go..." Sonic said as he turned and walked towards the roof door. Shadow quickly grabbed Sonic's hand. 

"Wait! I wasn't finished!" Shadow said.

    Sonic stopped and looked back at Shadow. "What is it?" he asked. Shadow blushed more and gulped. "It's going to be hard to forgive you, but I want to get to know you! I want to go out with you!" Shadow said as he closed his eyes tightly. Sonic's eyes widened as he turned fully around and looked down at Shadow. "D-Do you mean it?" Sonic asked. Shadow nodded. Sonic smiled as he stepped closer to Shadow and hugged him close. Shadow's eyes widened as he blushed redder. "Thank you! I promise that I will never let anything happen to you..." Sonic said as he pulled away and looked down at Shadow with a warm smile stretched across his face. Shadow looked up at Sonic, his blush still visible. 

"T-Then please take care of me...." Shadow said.

    Sonic blushed as he cupped Shadow's cheek in his hand. "Shadow, may I kiss you...?" Sonic asked. Shadow's eyes widened. "K-Kiss?!" Shadow replied. Sonic nodded. Shadow's face turned completely red. He nodded a bit. Sonic blushed at how cute Shadow was and leaned down and pressed his lips to his softly. Shadow closed his eyes tightly. Sonic held Shadow close as he pulled away and smiled down at him. Shadow opened his eyes and covered his mouth with his hand. "I'll take good care of you..." Sonic said. Shadow nodded and looked down shyly.

    The next morning, Shadow stirred as he rose from his sleep and stretched upward. He then climbed out of bed and walked to the bathroom to take a shower, brushed his teeth, and washed his face. After he was done, he got dressed in his school clothes, grabbed his bag, and walked downstairs to the dinner table. Shadow's mom looked at Shadow and smiled warmly. "Good morning Shadow!" she said happily. "Good morning mom..." Shadow said as he sat down. His mom then walked towards him with a plate of breakfast in her hands and set it down in front of him. "Eat your breakfast and hurry up to school ok?" she asked with a gentle smile. Shadow nodded and smiled as he began eating his breakfast.

    Once finished he washed his dishes and put it in the dishwasher. He then grabbed his bag and walked to the door. "I'll be going now!" Shadow said as he turned to look at his mom. His mom smiled and walked to him, giving his a hug and a kiss on his forehead. "take care of yourself!" she said as she pulled away and continued to smile at him. Shadow nodded and waved, putting on his shoes and walked out of the house. Shadow breathe in and out slowly as he smiled happily. "What a beautiful day~," he said as he walked to school. Suddenly, Shadow felt a pair of arms wrap around his waist and hugged him close to the person. Shadow gasped and struggled. 

"Let me go!" he shouted as he struggled more. He then heard a soft chuckle and a tender kiss land on his cheek. "It's me Shadow.." the person said. Shadow stopped struggling and turned to look at the person, seeing Sonic, who smiled down at him. Shadow blushed red as he stared at him. "G-Good morning Sonic..." Shadow said softly. "Good morning to you too Shadow..." Sonic replied as he released Shadow from his grip on him. "Was there something you needed from me Sonic?" Shadow asked as he looked up at him.  Sonic smiled warmly and nodded. "I wanted to ask if you mind if we walked to school together?" he replied. Shadow's cheek burned bright red as his eyes widened.

 " U-Um... I guess you can..." Shadow said as he looked down shyly.

    Sonic's eyes brightened as he smiled happily. "Great!" he shouted happily as he grabbed Shadow's hand. "Come on! Let's get going before we're late!" Shadow gasped as he felt Sonic pull him as Sonic ran down the street. Shadow's eyes widen as he felt like this moment was happening in slow motion. He watched Sonic carefully as he ran behind him. Shadow for once in his life smiled. 

'I wonder... Is this what happiness feels like...?' he thought.

For once in Shadow's life, he felt happy.
