The Nerd and The Bad Boy

    It was around the evening time and Shadow was excused from the nurse's office. He walked down the hall and towards his locker. Once he reached his locker he put in the combination, then opened his locker. He grabbed his stuff and closed his locker. Suddenly, a hand slammed near his head and he jumped in fright. Shadow turned around and saw Sonic, who stared at him with a longing gaze. Shadow was terrified and backed against the lockers in fright. Sonic stepped forward slightly. Shadow couldn't take it anymore and started sprinting down the hall and up the stairs. Sonic's eyes widened as he watches Shadow run. "Hey! Wait!" Sonic said as he ran after him. Shadow panicked as he ran up the stairs.

    Once Shadow reached the roof her bust through the door and continued running, having Sonic on his tail. "Shadow! Look out!" Sonic said as he ran faster and grabbed Shadow's hand and pulled him back from the edge. Shadow jumped back and into Sonic's chest. He then felt Sonic wrap his arms around him and held him close. "Let me go!" Shadow exclaimed as he squirmed in Sonic's arms. "No! I will not let you go unless you hear what I have to say!" Sonic said.Tears formed on the rims of Shadow's eyes as he squirmed more. Sonic squeezed tightly, leaning his face on Shadow's shoulder. "Please...I won't hurt you..." he whispered. Shadow then seized his movements as he felt Sonic's hot breath near his neck. He shivered slightly and shakily breath out a sigh. "O-Ok..." Shadow said. Sonic pulled away as he looked at Shadow, watching him turn around and look back at him.

    Sonic blushed a bit and looked away shyly. "I..I wanted to say I'm sorry...I'm sorry for everything that I have done to you over the years. I never meant to go this far into my problems." Sonic said. Shadow frowned a bit. "You're sorry? YOU'RE SORRY?! Do you have any idea how much pain I went through because of your beatings and abuse over the years?! Do you know how many times I cried myself to sleep every night?! You're not sorry! You never was sorry!" Shadow shouted as more tears formed. Sonic looked at Shadow and frowned angrily, walking up to him and raising both of his hands. Shadow's eyes closed tightly as he looked down, thinking Sonic is going to hit him, but what he expected was wrong. Sonic cupped both of Shadow's cheeks in his hands and made him look up again. "Shadow, look at me..." he said. Shadow opened his eyes and looked up at Sonic. Sonic looked at Shadow and stared longingly into his eyes, a bright red blush painted his face. 

"Shadow, I'm...I'm in love with you..."

    Shadow's eyes widened in shock after hearing Sonic say those words again to him. "Y-You're lying... You of all people could never love a loser like me!" Shadow said as he looked down. "I heard you in the nurse's office! You said those words to me when I was asleep!" Sonic looked taken aback, his eyes widening as well in shock. "Y-You heard me...?" Sonic said softly. Shadow nodded and looked up at Sonic once more, blushing a bit at seeing Sonic trying to cover his completely red muzzle, looking slightly far away in his eyes. "Shadow, I meant everything that I said then as I do now... I really am in love with you! All these years I have loved you and wanted to be with you..." Sonic said as he looked at Shadow slightly. Shadow's eyes lids lowered slightly as he held his hand to his chest. "Then why did you hurt me all these years...?" Shadow asked. Sonic sighed as he looked down sadly. 

"Because I was going through some things... My mother and father divorced and I was always abused and beaten... For years I had to deal with that until one day I was with my friends and I found you... I thought it would have been better if I had taken my anger out on you so...I bullied you because of my problems... I never wanted to hurt you... I was just a kid and I didn't know what I was doing! From then on the more and more I got to see you the more I fell in love with you..." Sonic said.

"Sonic..." Shadow started.

    Sonic held up his hand to signal him to let him finish. "At first I didn't know what this feeling was so I decided to bully you even more... Until I realized that this was love....my first love is you... And so I tried to see you every morning to try to say I'm sorry and I regret everything I have done to you, but you would always run away... So I thought today would be perfect and I had to do something I would surely regret... in the gym I had to hurt you in order to get you to the nurse so I could tell you my feelings. When you left with Silver, my heart hurt so much to see you like that, but now I think it was all worth it to get you here to tell you my feelings..." Sonic finished. Shadow looked at Sonic and blushed a bit, then looking down. 'So, he did all this for me...?' Shadow thought. 

"Shadow.." 

    Shadow looked up. "yes?" he replied. Sonic bowed and blushed bright red. "I am honestly and truly sorry for everything that I did and I want you to please forgive me! I don't expect you to, but I just wanted you to know my feelings for you! So....Will you please forgive me and go out with me?" he asked.

Shadow stared at Sonic and watched him carefully. 

"Sonic I...."
