The Nerd and The Bad Boy

    Once the couple arrived at Shadow's house, Shadow grabbed his key, unlocked the door, and walked inside. Sonic followed after. "Sorry for the intrusion..." Sonic said as he took off his shoes and placed them right next to Shadow's. "Mom! Dad! I'm home!" Shadow smiled as he walked forward towards the kitchen. Sonic gulped and followed after. In the kitchen stood a black female hedgehog that red stripes around her eyes just like Shadow's. In the dining room sat a black male hedgehog with a few blue stripes on his arms, who was reading a newspaper. Shadow walked in along with Sonic and smiled.  "Hey mom, I brought home a friend from school!" Shadow said happily. Shadow's mom, Annalise, turned and looked at the two. She smiled. "Oh, you did. And just in time for dinner," she said as she continued cooking. Shadow's father, Shade, looking up from his reading and looked at Sonic carefully. Sonic caught his glanced and gulped a little. 'This guy is scary,' Sonic thought as he sweatdropped. 

"My name is Sonic. Sonic Maurice Hedgehog. It's very nice to meet you all.." Sonic said.

     Shadow's mom, Annalise, walked over to them and smiled. "Well, it's nice to meet you Sonic," she said with a sweet smile planted on her face. Shadow watched them and smiled. "Hold on." a person said. Everyone looked towards the table where the voice came from. Shade, Shadow's father, stood up after closing his newspaper and glared at Sonic. "Isn't that the boy that bullied you and made you come home bruised up and badly injured when you were younger, Shadow?" Shade said as he frowned angrily. Shadow jumped as his booming voice and trembled a bit. "Y-Yes father, but Sonic here has changed! He's not like he use to be back then!" Shadow said. "Nonsense! This boy almost killed you several times! This boy is a menace to society!" Shade said as he pointed his dark finger at Sonic. Sonic's eye lids lowered slightly as he looked down sadly, his ears pinning to his head. He then gripped his hands tightly into a fist and shook. "Honey! How could you say something like that about our guest?!" Annalise, Shadow's mother, shouted. "How could you not see it?! This boy was the one that has scarred our son for life!" Shade argued back. 

"You're right..."

     Everyone stopped and looked at Sonic, who stood still. "Eh?" everyone said. Sonic looked up with tears brimming the ridges of his eyes. "You're right... I did do all those things to Shadow! I did hurt him! I did everything I could think off to hurt him! But I regret nothing!" Sonic said. Shade's eyes widened. "How dare you! You-" He started, but was stopped by Sonic's hand that raised high in the air to stop him from speaking any further. "I didn't finish..." Sonic spoke. Shade quieted down and waited for Sonic's explanation. Sonic looked down as he gripped his fists tighter. "If I hadn't't did those things, I wouldn't be the person that I am today... Shadow he... he helped me see the light again by staying by my side. Discover new things around me that I didn't know exist. He helped me through the bad times. You see, I lost my mother due to sickness when I was really young, and my father... Well, he went drank a lot and abused me constantly... He was the reason why I hated seeing everyone happy. One day, when I was in elementary school I went to the principle's office and got a call from a police officer who told me my father had died in car crash. I never was the same after that.I bullied others due to father's retched behavior, but I realized later that what I was doing was wrong and I wanted to change myself. That's why I hunted Shadow. I never meant to do any of those horrible things to him!" Sonic finished.

Shadow's eyes widen as he stared at Sonic. "Sonic..."

     Sonic looked up with determination in his eyes. "Mr. Shade! I have changed! For Shadow and for everyone! You don't have to believe me or my story, but I know that I will never ever hurt you son again! I will protect him with my life if I have to! No matter what I love Shadow!" Sonic said, clenching his tie in his fist over his chest. Both Shade's and Annalise's eyes widened in shock. "Oh my!" Annalise said as he lifted her hand to her mouth. Shadow walked up to Sonic, looking up at him. "D-Do you mean that Sonic?" Shadow asked softly, blushing a bit. Sonic looked down at Shadow, a true smile planted on his features. "Every word..." Sonic replied. Shadow smiled happily and hugged Sonic tightly, wrapping his arms around his in a loving embrace. Sonic smiled more as he wrapped his arms around Shadow's waist, pulling him closer. Shade stared at Sonic, speechless due to his outburst. Annalise smiled as she turned towards Shade. "Honey, come one... At least give him a chance. I believe that Sonic here is a good boy~" She said softly.

Shade looked at her, then back at Sonic. "Hm...Fine... Boy!" Shade shouted a bit, crossing his arms across his chest. Sonic jumped and looked up at Shade. "Y-Yes sir?" he replied. Shadow looked back at his father. Shade frowned a bit. "I'll give you this ONE chance! If you ever hurt Shadow you will regret it, got it!" Shade said. Shadow's eyes widened. 

"Father..."

     Sonic smiled and nodded. "yes sir! you have my word! Thank you so much sir!" Sonic said happily.

"Don't thank me yet boy! I still hate you for hurting my son.." Shade growled.

   Sonic flinched. Annalise stepped in and looked at Sonic, smiling sweetly. "Sonic dear? Would you like to have dinner with us?" she asked. "oh, I uh..." Sonic started. "Wait, mom! I wanted to ask if I could spend the night with Sonic tonight?" Shadow asked, cutting Sonic off. Shade's eyes widened. "Absolutely not! MMM?!" Annalise covered his mouth and looked towards the duo. "Sure dear! Just be back home after school tomorrow, ok?" she said. Shadow smiled happily and nodded. "Yes! thank you mom!" Shadow said as he ran to her and hugged her tightly. "You're welcome sweetie~" she replied as she hugged him back. Shade closed his eyes and turned around. "HMPH?" he huffed under his breath.

     Later on that night after Sonic, Shadow, and his family had dinner Shadow packed a small bag for his night clothes, toothbrush, quill brush, etc. He then ran downstairs, but ended up bumping into Sonic. "Ow! Oh, I'm sorry Sonic..." Shadow blushed embarrassingly. Sonic chuckled and ruffled his fur gently. "It's ok love~" Sonic smiled. Annalise walked up to Shadow and Sonic, bending down and kissed Shadow's temple gently. "Have fun and be sure to keep In touch what's going on~" She said softly. Shadow smiled and nodded. "I'll take good care of him Miss..." Sonic said. Annalise giggled and nodded. After a few minutes, both Sonic and Shadow walked out the house and began their journey to Sonic's house.
