    The bell rang to signal that school was finally over and all the students began packing up their things to go home. Shadow, who stood up, began packing his things to go home. Sonic, on the other hand, was talking to some of his friends while packing up as well. Shadow took a slight glance up at him and blushed a bit. Suddenly, a figure blocked his view of his beloved boyfriend and he looked up at the figure. "Eh?" Shadow said. There stood a green figure, who looked a lot like Sonic, but with blue eyes instead of green emeralds. "Hi, there! Are you Shadow?" the figure asked. Shadow gulped a little. " Um, yes I am. Who are you?" Shadow replied. "The name's Scourge! And..." Scourge started as he leaned in close to Shadow's face. Shadow blushed and leaned back a bit. "I find you very cute, cutie!" he finished as he winked with a sexy grin on his face. Shadow's eyes widened as he blushed more. Scourge then grabbed his hand and held it tightly in his grip. "How about we go somewhere private cutie?" Scourge asked as he licked his lips. Shadow grit in pain as he tried to pry his hand away from him. "No! I'm with someone else! Let me go!" Shadow shouted a bit. Suddenly, a hand grabbed Shadow into a hug. Shadow's eyes widened as he landed on the chest of his savior.

    He then looked up and saw Sonic, who glared into the eyes of Scourge. "Don't touch someone else's boyfriend asshole!" Sonic said as he gripped Shadow's shoulder. Shadow blushed red as he turned and looked back at Scourge, who had his hands up in defense. "Sorry, my bad! I didn't think he was taken." Scourge replied with a smirk plastered on his face. "If I dare catch you trying to handle my boyfriend again; I will rip you to shreds, got it?" Sonic said with a bit of a harsh tone and a growl. Scourge looked down at Shadow, then up at Sonic and nodded, putting his hands behind his back. "Cross my heart and hope to die," he replied. Sonic frowned, not trusting Scourge at all. "Anyway, I got to get going now. See you later cutie!" Scourge winked down at Shadow as he walked passed him and Sonic. Sonic watched his every move till he was finally out of the classroom. He then sighed heavily and looked down at Shadow, who looked back at him with a small blush plastered on his cheeks. "Are you alright? Did he hurt you Shadow?" Sonic asked as he checked him for wounds. Shadow shook his head and smiled genuinely. "No, I'm fine. Thanks for coming to my rescue." Shadow said softly. Sonic looked at him and smiled warmly. " Of course! I won't let anything happen to you. I will always protect you no matter what." Sonic replied.

Shadow grinned.

    Sonic leaned forward and kissed Shadow on the lips gently. Shadow kissed back as he gripped his shirt tightly into his hands. Sonic pulled away as he smiled and nuzzled him lovingly. Shadow smiled happily and giggled a bit at the nuzzling. 

"I love you..."

    Few hours passed, Sonic and Shadow were walking home together holding hands. Sonic smiled as he walked with Shadow to his house. Shadow blushed as he looked up at Sonic slightly. He loved looking at Sonic. He enjoyed being with him, but something was telling him he didn't want to go home. Shadow looked down sadly as he stopped walking. Sonic stopped and looked down at Shadow, frowning a bit in confusion. "Shadow, what's wrong?" Sonic asked. "Sonic, I don't want to go home...I want to stay with you a little longer." Shadow said as he lifted his head to look Sonic in the eyes. Sonic's eyes widened in shock as a slight blush forming on his cheeks. "Eh? But Shadow, I have to take you home. I don't want your parents to worry." Sonic replied. Shadow shook his head as he turned and hugged Sonic tightly. He buried his face in his chest. Sonic looked taken aback as his eyes widened more and blushed harder than ever before. "Please Sonic, I don't want to leave your side yet. I want to be with you!" Shadow cried as he shook a bit and sniffled. Sonic sighed as he hugged Shadow closer and started petting his head gently. "Alright alright, Shadow. How about this? I take you home first and we can ask your parents if you can stay at my house. Does that sound good?" Sonic asked with a small smile.

    Shadow looked up at Sonic with teary eyes. "You think they'll say yes?" he asked with a small sniffle. Sonic looked down at Shadow as he raised his hands and gently wiped his tears away. "Only one way to find out..." Sonic said softly as he leaned forward and nuzzled his nose with his own. Shadow smiled cutely and nodded. "Then let's go!" Shadow said as he pulled away, grabbed Sonic's hand, and began running to his house very quickly. "Whoa!" Sonic shouted a bit but smiled and laughed, following after him. In Sonic's eyes, all he could see was a beautiful future for not only him but for his beloved Shadow.

Nothing could ruin this moment.

Or so he thought...

Figures stood in an alleyway, who watched them carefully with a smirk. 

"Heh heh heh..." they laughed, then ran off.
