Jackson ran down the halls at full speed with his friends next to him. The three boys hadn't kept track of time and now they were last to their first class. He hoped Professor McGonagall wouldn't be to mad at them.

He didn't want to get yelled at his first day. His head hurt enough from tiredness anyway. They made it to the classroom and Jackson spotted a tabby cat sitting on the desk and no Professor McGonagall. The class was quiet as they were writing and the three boys walked down the aisle.

"Whew, amazing, can you imagine the look on old McGonagall's face if we were late?" Ron said to the other two boys with relief. Before Jackson could share that same relief, the tabby cat jumped forward, its small body transforming into something that definitely wasn't a cat. Instead, Professor McGonagall had taken form, looking at them disapprovingly. Jackson didn't know whether to be amazed or frightened. Ron had chose amazed, "that was bloody brilliant."

"Thank you for that assessment, Mr. Weasley." She replied, sounding rather sarcastic. "Maybe if I were to transfigure Mr. Potter, Mr. Samson and yourself into a pocketwatch, maybe one of you would be on time."

"We got lost." Harry said apologetically.

"Then perhaps a map? I trust you don't need one to find your seats." She looked at them pointedly, making her way back to her desk and sitting down. Staying in her human form instead of changing back.

The three shared a look and Jackson walked over to an empty desk, sitting down. Ron and Harry seemed to rush for the seat next to him. Harry won and with a huff, Ron had to sit next to Hermione since she was the only one with a seat next to her. Jackson snickered at Ron's disdained face before getting his book out and focusing on what Professor McGonagall was saying.

Their next class was with Professor Snape. Jackson didn't know much about him, except what Fred and George had told him, which was he was mean and harsh. The smallest thing would get you a weeks worth of detention. He wasn't many people's favourite teacher, except for Slytherin because apparently he favoured them. Jackson didn't know what to believe since the twins told him he would also be fighting dragons.

There were long rows of seats in his class so the three boys got to sit together this time, much to Ron's happiness. The door opened with a loud bang and Jackson jumped in his seat, whipping around the see Snape in all black, looking rather intimating, "there will be no foolish wand waving or silly incantations in this class." He stopped at the front and slowly turned around to face them. "As such, I don't expect many of you to enjoy the subtle science and exact art that is potion making. However, for those select few who possess the predisposition, I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory and even put a stopper in death."
