Lisa

"Glad to be back?" I smiled briefly at Carol whilst nodding. "Don't seem like it. Are you sure you're fine?" I sipped my bottle of water and smiled at her once again. "Yeah I'm fine, I get my results today from my blood test, just scared I guess." Dave had persuaded me to go back to work for the last two weeks before the summer term, at first I was hesitant but I needed to get out of there. Seeing him so weak and sick made me too upset, the nurses will take better care of him whilst I work. I was visiting him every other day, it wasn't going to be long till he passed, it's hard to believe that the person I once loved could look so frail. "It'll come back clear don't worry, let me know what happens?" I nodded and she went off to teach a class. I sat there for a few moments before putting on a smile and walking off to the exam hall to see how my students had got on. I hadn't spoken to Jordell in a while, after getting that mysterious phone call from that female I just felt angry. I couldn't even contact him because I had deleted his number, if he wanted to talk to me he would have done so by now. "Miss, you're back?" I turned around to see one of my students Kirsty. "Yes just for the last two weeks. How did the exam go, I hope you revised?" She nodded and we conversed about the exam and the questions that came up. "Miss" I turned my head to see Jordell standing there staring at me. I felt flushed and hot all of a sudden, he looked different.. good different. He had grown a beard that was neat and shaped and his scent smelled as good as always. "Jordell how did you find the exam?" Kirsty walked off and he took her place standing right infront of me. "It was fine. How are you though?" I shrugged my shoulders and he raised a brow. "You look ill, have you been eating?" Like he cares pft. "Yes" I lied. I hadn't been eating well with all the stress from Dave's illness and waiting for the blood test results. "Don't lie to me" He whispered whilst students walked past us. "What's it to you? Don't you have a girlfriend to care for now?!" I said with a bitter tone. "What?" He raised his brow again. "I got a call from her.. whoever she is. She told me she's with you and you want nothing to do with me." He scoffed. "You're crazy what are you talking about? I don't have a girlfriend. You're my--" He stopped not completing his sentence and I sighed, my head was starting to hurt and I felt dizzy. I definitely hadn't mentally prepared myself for seeing him. "Well you don't have to worry about me anymore" I smiled before beginning to walk off. He stepped in front of me stopping me and I placed my fingers on my temples, my head was really starting to pound. "I was going to call you after my exams, I thought you needed space." I sighed not knowing what to say. "How is he?" I watched him confused. "Who?" He raised his brow yet again. "Your ex, is he keeping well?" I saw his jaw clench and I smirked, he's still jealous I see. "He's dying, he hasn't got long left. I've got to go. Good luck in your last exam tomorrow." With that I walked off and this time he didn't stop me.

Jordell

It felt like forever since I had seen or spoken to Lisa and she didn't look so good today. "Jordell are you on it?" I looked up snapping form my thoughts to see Sam waving her phone in my face. "Huh?" I questioned. "This party. Tomorrow night to celebrate end of our exams. Are you going to go?" I shrugged. "Maybe, I don't know." I pondered. " Just come, everyone is going" She smiled and I stood up from her couch. "I'll see. I have to go" She hugged me and nodded before I left getting into my car and heading to Lisa's. I parked and rang her door bell waiting for her to answer. "Lisa!" No answer. "Just open so we can talk." I rang the bell again and got no response. Taking out my phone I called her phone and heard it ring from the inside. "Don't ignore me, I just want to talk." There was no sound coming from the other side so I decided to go towards the back. Lucky enough her back door was open, I got in and walked towards the living room. "Lisa?!" She wasn't there but her phone was on the table. I could hear water running upstairs so I headed there, she was probably in the shower. The bathroom was empty but the shower was running. I turned off the water and headed to her bedroom to find her on the floor in a pool of blood. "LISA!" Rushing to her I felt for a pulse and thankfully there was one. Taking out my phone I phoned for an ambulance and waited with her till they arrived. In no time they were there taking her out of my arms. "Do you know what happened?" I shook my head and gulped as they put her in a stretcher taking her downstairs. "How do you know Miss Valentino?" My mind was blank for a moment before I answered. "She's my teacher, I um came over to ask for some last minute help for my exam tomorrow and saw the door was open slightly. I heard water running and walked in to see if everything was fine, she wasn't picking up my calls and that's not like her, we'd agreed I'd come over today for revision, she tutors me at times." I don't think I've ever lied so good. I got into the ambulance with her till we got to the hospital where they made me wait whilst they ran checks on her.

Lisa

"Miss Valentino" I opened my eyes slightly to see a man standing in front of me. "It's okay, I'm Dr. Smith, you're in a hospital, how are you feeling?" I blinked a few times before feeling the pounding thud in my head. "My head." I held my temples and he smiled warmly at me. "That's down to your lack of fluid, you're really dehydrated. Here drink this and a nurse will be back with some food" I sipped the water and thanked him. "Miss Valentino do you recall what happened?" Erm.. "Um, I remember running my shower then walking into my room." "Right okay that's fine, you haven't suffered any major injuries but there's something I need to ask you, are y-" Just before he could finish, a loud noise was heard. "JUST LET ME IN" We both turned to the door to see Jordell walk in with a nurse by his side. What was he doing here?! "Dr. I told him he wasn't to come in." The nurse spoke whilst Jordell walked towards me. "Sir, can you please wait in the waiting room whilst I speak to Miss Valentino, you'll be able to see her right after." "Are you okay?" He grabbed my face and hugged me. "Please, sir." The doctor spoke once again. "Jordell wait outside please" I spoke quietly before he nodded and walked out slowly. "Caring student you have there. If he hadn't turned up for your tutoring session you'd have been laying there for a while" I gulped confused as to what he was talking about. "What were you going to ask me before he walked in?" I asked referring to our previous conversation. "Ah yes, are you aware that you were pregnant?" My heart jumped and I looked at him in shock. "Wh-what?!" "Miss Valentino you were a month pregnant, your lack of food and water really took a toll on your body, that explains you fainting and your fatigue. Have you been under any stress recently?" My head started spinning and I felt sick. "Pregnant?" I said more to myself than him. "Miss Valentino.. have you been under any stress recently?" I gulped and nodded. "I'm sorry to say.. you miscarried. I know this is a hard thing to hear all to quickly but we'll need to keep you in for a day or two whilst we run more tests." He smiled sympathetically and I felt myself begin to cry. "I c-cant.. miscarried.. wh-" My head was thumping. "I'll tell your student to come visit another day, is there anyone you'd like me to call?" I shook my head and thought about Jordell whilst tears continued to fall. "L-let him in, I'm fine" I wiped my tears forcefully and sniffed before he hesitantly walked out. Not long after Jordell walked in. "Lisa are you okay, what happened, I told them I was at your place because you were going to tutor me for the exam tomorrow." I started crying again and felt his arms around me. "Lisa what's happened?" He pulled away and watched me. "I- .. we. I miscarried" His brow rose as realization hit him. "What do you mean miscarried?" He sat on the seat beside my bed waiting for an answer. "I was pregnant.. I didn't even know.. I could have taken better care of myself.. my baby" I placed my hands on my stomach as I continued to cry. "You were carrying my child?" I saw his jaw clench as his eyes went red from holding back his tears. "I was going to be a dad?" He stood up and grabbed my hand before hugging me and kissing my forehead. "I love you" he spoke and our eyes met and for the first time, I saw Jordell shed a tear.
