Part 16 - The BIG Plan

Kaden’s POV

4.15 P.M, these guys are always late. I am supposed to meet Nate, Adam and Mase at our usual pizza place but they suck at being on time.

After knowing that Marissa was actually the devil, we started to plan something so that we can win against her and that is why we’re meeting here today. To discuss the so ‘big plan’. I still don’t understand why she would hurt Iris like this. From what I heard, she’s basically flawless, and I actually like her because she looks very down to earth and easy going.

“Hey” Nate was the first to come

“Sup’” Nate told me that Marissa probably likes me because from what he heard, she wants Iris to lose trust in me and make Iris feel betrayed by me.

“Are you still shocked about what happened?” Nate was the only person who realise that I was denying the fact that Marissa was such a devil although I was agreeing with everyone, a part of me was actually still processing all the information

“Yeah. I mean, she was nice to me and I was obviously nice to her. Why hate on Iris? We’re only friends” I feel sorry for Iris if this situation happened was because of me

“Kade, anything can happen when you like someone. It’s the nature; it takes one’s mind and emotion to how they’re going deal and control it” there goes the philosophy Nate, always know what to say.

“Thanks for the word of wisdom?” I said sarcastically.

“Look, I’m just saying that, sure, Marissa is, well, could probably be a goddess but she could turn out to be a devil too. Am I right or am I right?”

“Do I really have to answer that?” obviously he wants me to say he’s right and of course I won’t be saying he is.  

“So what are the plan guys?” Adam and Mase joins in before we could even finish our conversation

“So here’s what I have in mind” Adam started talking and you know Adam, he makes sure everything was perfectly puts in place? Maybe because he’s a lawyer to be or something

“It’s perfect isn’t it?”

“Earth to Kaden” then I realise that all eyes are on me, like asking me if I’m okay with the plan but I wasn’t listening, my bad.

“Huh?” is the only word I could produce

“Hmph. Concentrate here Kade. Look into my eyes and concentrate” Adam said while gesturing his fingers from his eyes to my eyes.

“Whaa? Do I really need to look into your eyes? Will that make me concentrate?”

“Ashley said so. I always looked into her eyes to make sure I won’t miss a thing she said” oh god, I really need to have some talk with Ashley.

“That’s your girlfriend dude, of course you have to do that” sometimes Adam can be stupid. He thinks everything is relatable with everything. Weird guy.

“Okay, so, as I was saying” he purposely look at me to as a sign like ‘concentrate dude’ “I think that it’s best that if Kaden starts being really, really nice to Marissa”

“What?! Why would I be nice to her now?” I would love to be nice if she wasn’t so bad

“Calm down. The plan is you be nice to her, flirt with her make her tell you stuff or you dig some stuff. Depends and boom! Settled. You get to prove to Iris what actually happened and who actually did it and you get to at least spend time with our high school queen bee while she’s still a goddess. It’s like killing two birds with one stone. Amazing right? I know, I know” well, what Adam said make sense and he was actually right.

“So, are you saying that Kaden needs to kill a bird or two?” Mason suddenly spoke out of the blue

We were so dumbfounded by his sudden stupid question. Like out of this world stupid. I wonder what he learned in class every day, especially in English.

“Mason you dumb ass. Killing two birds with one stone is an idiom. Where have you been in this world before?” Nate was obviously furious. Mason is funny like he’s the clown man of the school, but sometimes he’s retarded

“Oh, no wonder I’ve heard of it before! Thanks Nate!” I just had to laugh. He was really so oblivious.

“Okay, enough. Back to what’s important”

“Sure. I’ll do it. I mean I just have to be nice right? I am an expert at being nice” girls dig me, what can I say?

“But, there’s one problem” Nate said

“What is it?”

“You have to ignore Iris” he said boldly

“Ignore Iris?! You kidding?! I can’t do that. I was just beginning to be friends with her, I can’t lose the chance. No, just no”

“But Nate’s right” oh, now everyone’s backing Nate “think about it Kaden, Marissa hates Iris and likes you and you’re about to be a ‘spy’. If she sees you with Iris all friendly and stuff she probably won’t like it but, that does not mean you can’t smile to Iris or something. We’re not asking you to treat her bad, just like ignore her in the best way possible, only just for a while”  

“But on one condition”

“What?”

“This operation only begins after we finished our drama” they all nodded in agreement.

“I hope this pays off. I’m going to be extremely mad if this plan fails” they all smile sheepishly at me like ‘don’t worry man, everything’s going to be good’
