Nadine's pov
"Where are you going to take me?" I asked Brandon.
In no time, a smile was curved on his lips. "To the airport." He said, didn't bother to turn to me because he was focusing on the road. Yes, he was the one who was driving now.
So, yesterday was spent with me teaching him how to drive a car. Its basically the same as when he drives back there in New York. But since the driver's seat position and the road are different, it took time for him to adjust. That was normal, the same happened to me when i first learned how to drive a car here years ago.
I rented a car yesterday, and we were supposed to go to a lake. But he insisted that he wanted to drive so we spent a whole day on the road, letting him adapt with the car and the road. And today, he was the one who rented a car. He said he will drive me anywhere i want to, just tell him where to go and the direction and he promised me i'll get there safe and sound.
This time he was using a gps to show him the way to the airport.
"Do you intend to pick someone up?"
"Um, yes."
"Who?"
Dammit, Nadine, you need to stop asking questions.
He spared two seconds to look at me and smiled. "Its a surprise." He answered.
"As enchant as that might sound, but surprise is surprise and i hate that."
"No no, you'll love this one. I promise."
"We'll see."
He smiled. "Yeah."
Then came the silence between us. We barely spoke for minutes and i just stared at the road ahead of us. Yet also, i felt Brandon split his glance at me every once or twice, making a rush of bloods up to my cheeks. But in fact, its hard for other people to catch me blushing, i don't know why so, but the heat rising up my cheeks was covered by the shield or something under my cheeks. Or lets just make it simple, my skin was probably so thick that other people wont see my face turns red.
"The road needs to be paid attention more than me," i chuckled, breaking the silence. I didn't mind if we kept on being in that no speaking-term. Because that was not an awkward silence. But the way he stared at me was. I just, don't like it if someone was checking me out every now and then, even creepily, staring at me.
"Sorry, i can't help it." He said, glancing at the road then back at me. He didn't deny it. He didn't deny that he's looking at me, opposite to what he did at the beach when we first hung out.
"You're so beautiful." He shot me with a tantalizing smile. Oh my god. Why that smile had so much effect on me?
"You need to be reminded how beautiful you are everyday."
If it was possible then i'd melt right away on my seat.
Cool, Nadine, cool.
I gave him an 'are you serious' look. "Are you trying to sweet talk me, Brands?" I let out a nervous chuckle.
"The fact is i am not." He slightly shook his head, now he's fully concentrating on the road. "I know this might be very personal but i really wanted to ask this question since the first time we hung out." He rambled.
