Nadine's pov

I opened my eyes to white ceilings. I blinked, taking in my surroundings. White walls and IV pole stand next came into view. Familiar weird smell was clear in the air. Its a mix of disinfectants, cleaning agents and blood. Sterile, sad and sick.

What did i do so bad that i ended up here?

I didn't remember i did something stupid nor was i hit by car.

Or was i ill?

To answer those questions, i forced myself to sit up and checked out my own figure. I looked... fine. I mean, no wound, no injury. I wasn't hooked up to several different machines. I even was still in my own clothes from last night.

Last night?

Wait. How long had i been out for?

I managed to jump out of the bed, stumbling a little bit in the process. "Whoa," i grabbed a hold of the edge of the bed to steady myself.

Once i gained my balance back, i started walking toward the door. But before i made it there, the door swung open, revealing a very panicked Brandon Flynn.

The look of horror flashed on his face. He looked like he was about to piss in his pants. His chest rose and fell rapidly, his breathing was erratic as if he'd just run a marathon. His whole body tensed and went rigid.

"Brandon?"

"Nadine!"

We both choked out each other's names at the same time.

"Nadine!" Brandon repeated, slightly out of breath. "We need to get out of this hospital right now."

"Im not complaining. That's what I've been planning to do before you barged in," i smirked.

"Nadine, this is serious. We have to leave as quick as we can," he told me, giving me a stern look.

My smirk fell immediately, replaced by a frown. "What happened?"

But my question went unanswered because Brandon drew closer, gripping and yanking on my wrist.

He bolted out of the room with me struggling to catch a step behind him. I tried to wriggle my wrist out of his grip but no luck, he wrapped his hand around it very tightly. There was no way he was going to let me go anytime soon.

We were now sprinting our way down the hallway. Brandon was still being quiet, didn't bother to explain as to why he was dragging me like this. The silence that surrounded us grew even more uncomfortable. And eerie. I could even listen to the sound of my heart thumping against my ribcage.

Now that we were almost at the end of this hallway, i started to realize that this hospital was empty. At least at this floor where we were. There was no sign of anyone on this floor. Not a tad bit. I shuddered.

I started to question about so many things in my head. I need explanation. So to get that, i tugged on my hand abruptly, making Brandon stumble backward, almost tripping but he managed to stand on where he was. Our running came to a halt immediately.
