Chapter 3

After the incredible moment watching the Brachiosaurus, we drive to what I see a visitor centre. Mr.Hammond lead the way, opening the huge doors and we are welcome with dinosaur skeletons hanging on top of us with a banner 'When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth'.

As we walk up to the stairs, I take pictures of the skeletons and Mr.Hammond explains to us about the park.

"That is one of our attractions we done. Like any theme park we also have rides but we have one advantage. We have real life dinosaurs." Mr.Hammond explains.

"Wait so what are we seeing just now is really real?" I ask.

"Yes, Lainey. I know this is mind blowing and we have more dinosaurs to show at tour." Mr.Hammond said.

"Awesome." I grin.

We enter some kind of a theatre and Alan, Ellie and Ian sit in the front while me and Dad sit behind them with Mr.Hammond and Gennaro. Mr.Hammond walk to the big screen, only to meet himself on the screen. "Everyone say hello to me."

We said our hellos to the screen and Mr.Hammond start talking to...well himself and then all of a sudden they are about7 John Hammond on the screen. A cartoon image of a DNA who's name is Mr.DNA pops out from behind at one of the the John Hammond.

Mr.DNA then start explaining to us how scientists clone the dinosaurs at the park from what I learn using a fossilized mosquito still have the dinosaur's blood from amber. To fill in the gene sequence gap of the dinosaurs genome, they use frog DNAs.

Interesting.

"And then, dinosaurs are born." I watch the screen as the dinosaur hatch from an egg and grows up to an adult dinosaur. "We are still working on sound effects to entertain the kids. "Mr.Hammond said, making sound effects.

Then, the rails went down to our laps like on a rollercoaster and starts moving to a lab and we saw scientists working but my blue eyes saw something else. "Is that dinosaur eggs?" I look at Mr.Hammond.

"Yes it is, Lainey."

"Oh,can we see the unfertilized eggs?" Ellie ask, turning around to face Mr.Hammond. "Well I'm afraid this is some kind of a ride so we may not be stopping." Mr.Hammond said.

"On the count of three lift this thing." Alan said, Ellie and Ian nod their heads.

"One...two...three."
The three of them lift it up and get up on their feet.

"Dad." I look at him,grinning. Dad smiles cheekily and nod, understanding my silent language. Both of us lift the rails, Dad grabs my hand and follow Alan and Ellie. I heard Mr.Hammond chuckles. That's a good sign of him not mad at our eagerness.

We manage to catch up with the three of them as we enter the lab. Mr.Hammond chat with Dr.Wu and I saw a moving egg. I approach the nest. "It's going to hatch!" I squeal, everyone watch the egg. "I was hoping I get to see one before I went to the boat." Dr.Wu said. "Henry, I thought I've already told you that I insisted to be here when it hatch." Mr.Hammond said to Dr.Wu, wearing disposable gloves.

I stand next to Mr.Hammond, I watch the egg closely. "Dear make sure your flashes are off." Dad squeeze my shoulder. I nod as I position the camera to the right angle and snap it when I saw the head. "Come on little one. Come on. You're almost there." Mr.Hammond encourages the baby dinosaur.

When the baby already out from the eggshell, Mr.Hammond hold it and caress it. I took the opportunity to take the moment. "Nice angle, Lainey." Mr.Hammond compliments me as I smile at him.

"How did they breed?" Dad ask Dr.Wu. "Well here in Jurassic Park we control how they breed and they're all female." Dr.Wu explains. "You can't do that. I'm sure that they can breed on their own." Ian said. "So what are you trying to say is, that they will mating even though they're all female?" Dr.Wu raise an eyebrow. "No what I'm saying is life uh...life will find a way." Ian said, sitting at one of the stools.

"What is this species?" Alan ask, holding the baby dinosaur. Dr.Wu looks up from his clipboard. "Oh, that's a velociraptor."
"You breed raptors?" Alan ask, surprised.

SCREECH!!

I jump a bit when the raptors made that sound. Alan squeeze my shoulders in attempt to calm me down. I follow Alan to the raptors paddock when he discover that they breed raptors. "I can't believe they breed raptors."
Alan looks down at me. "Me too, Lainey. Me too."

"Dr.Grant! Lainey! My chef Alejandro had prepare lunch for us." Mr.Hammond said, walking to us followed by the others. Both Alan and I ignore him as we watch the workers lower down a cow. "What are they doing?" Alan ask, ignoring what Mr.Hammond said just now. "Feeding them. Now Alejandro cook us Chilean sea bass and I guarantee you will like it." Still ignoring Mr.Hammond, we watch the workers lower down the cow until we barely see it anymore. Then we heard the raptors let out a growling sound as they gobble up the cow through the bushes and make it moving.

Dad hugs me tightly, slightly stroke my cheek. When the sound deadening, I heard someone coming to our way. "They should all be extinct." he said. "This is Robert Muldoon, our game warden from Kenya." Mr.Hammond introduce him to us. Alan rapidly ask him questions about the raptors. I heard him mention about, 'fast like a cheetah' and they use to be eight but then the bigger one kill the others'.

I look at Dad and he hugs me tightly, meaning he heard about that conversation too. Me and Dad watch the workers pulled up the harness that is now completely destroyed, looks like shredded cloth,with blood on it. Me and Dad turn away from the paddock and join the group again.

"Now, who's hungry?" Mr.Hammond ask.

I am not sure if I'm hungry anymore. I just witness how the raptors eat their prey for goodness sake!
