Escaped Hunters

Chapter 6

Lainey Blake
The weather keeps getting worse and now its already raining heavily and the car drives to the visitor center. Tim and Lex lean on my shoulders and I hug them both to keep them both warm from the cold.

My phone vibrates on my lap and I use one of my hands and unlock it.

Dad
U okay in there w/ Lex, Tim and Gennaro?

Lainey
Yeah, we're okay in here.

I put my phone back on my lap near my camera and lean on the seat. "Who text you?" Lex ask. "My Dad. He just checking on us." I reply.

"So how old are you again and what school you went?" Tim ask. "15 and actually my Dad home schooled me so he can bring me everywhere and he can focus on his job." I answer.

"Wow." both of them said.

"I know and look the rain stop a little."

The vehicle still driving and drive near the T-Rex paddock and suddenly stops. "What did Alan do?" I mutter.
"He didn't do anything but the second car stops too." Lex look behind.

"Great so the power is off." I groan. I close my eyes a bit while Tim went to the back of the car and Lex fanning herself with her baseball cap.

30 minutes later...

We are still in the car not moving a muscle. My phone suddenly rings and I answer it without looking at the caller ID. "Hello?"
"Lainey? it's me Mr.Hammond and I'm so sorry but the power is shut down and I'm afraid you have to stay where you are."
"Already figure it out but Lex and Tim are fine. Did you call my Dad?"
"Already did and he is notified. Don't worry we'll bring back the power."
"Thanks Mr.Hammond." and Mr.Hammond hang up. Another ring by my phone and I answer again.
"Mr.Hammond?"

"Its me, Lainey. How you doing?"

"Hi Dad I'm doing fine but we have to stay here."

"Yeah,Mr.Hammond told me but be patience Lain, okay? I-I--"

"What did you say?"

"Lai-Lainey I-I c-can't-"and the line went dead.

"What the?" I raise my eyebrows, staring my phone dumbfounded. "Who is it?" Gennaro ask. "The first one is Mr.Hammond and he said we have to stay here until the power's back." which earn groans from everyone. "the second one is my Dad but the line went dead."

"Must be the weather." Gennaro concluded. I groan and shove my phone in my pocket and check out the pictures I took at my camera. Seconds later, Alan open our door, looking wet.

"Is the radio working?" he ask. Gennaro start testing it and shakes his head. "Alan can you give my camera to my Dad? Tell him to take care of it for me." I ask him. "Yeah, sure thing." he said, grabbing my camera from me and close our door.

I lean my head against the window as Lex continues to fan herself with her baseball cap and Tim still at the back.

"BOO!" Tim yells wearing some kind of goggles,startling both Lex and me. Tim laughs at our reaction and Gennaro looks at us. "Where did you found that, kid?"

"Under my seat."

"Is it heavy?"

"Yeah."

"Then its expensive, put it back."

Tim ignores Gennaro and wear the goggles. "Don't scare me!" Lex scolds him, hitting him with her baseball cap.

I lean back to the window,watching the rain drop slowly. "Cool night vision!" Tim said at the back. We ignore Tim, my eyes are closed. "You hear that?" Tim ask Lex. "What?" I ask him. "The water in the cups are rumbling." Lex said. I open my eyes and watch the cups. Lex is right. "Maybe its the power back on." Gennaro said. Tim went behind and I close my eyes again. "Where's the goat?" Tim ask. "What goat?" Lex ask.

"The goat in the T-Rex paddock."

I open my eyes and look at him. "Give me that." I said, climbing back to where Tim is. Tim give me the goggles and I wear it. Sure is, the goat is gone. "It's gone?" I said but it come out as a question.

"So where's the goat?" Lex ask, I put the goggles away. As soon as she said that, a bloody leg falls on top of our roof. "That's the goat." I barely whispers. Lex and Tim gasp and I went to my seat again, Lex backs up to me. I saw the T-Rex's hand on the fence as it threw its head back and swallow the goat.

"Oh God, oh God." Gennaro stutters, open his door and run away in the rain without looking back.

"He left us! He left us!" Lex exclaims, fear in her voice. "I'm here." I said to calm down Lex. The rain finally stop.

I saw the supposedly electrified fence's wires are going wild and I saw the T-Rex came out from its paddock and let out a loud roar.

"Dr.Grant." Lex whispers.

"Dad." I whisper.

Lex went back and start rummaging and found a flashlight. Lex went back to her seat and turn it on. I was so afraid that I can't remember anything what Dad taught me about the T-Rex.

Lex flash the flashlight to the second car but it turns out to attract the T-Rex's attention and it walk to our direction. And it click in my mind. "Lex turn it off! The T-Rex visions is base on movement!" I hiss but it was too late and the T-Rex is near our doors.

Tim went to Gennaro's seat quietly and close the door and the T-Rex's head snaps towards him. Tim and Lex's breathing are uneven. It stares and us one by one. The T-Rex stare at Lex and light which makes it roar in front of us. The three of us covers our ears.

The T-Rex hit its head lightly on the side of our doors, lifting the car a bit. Lex screams a bit and Tim went to our seat. "Turn it off!" Tim said. "I'm sorry." Lex keeps repeating and we struggle to turn the flashlight off. I look up at our roof. Tim and Lex follow my eyes. We all screamed our lungs out as the T-Rex's head hit our roof and we struggle to hold the glass with our hands and feet. The second time it hit the glass, the glass breaks, Tim screams and I shriek,"DAD!!"

The three of us whimpering in the car and the T-Rex hit its head again at the side of the doors but this time stronger until it flip our car. I have a feeling that it stands on the car with one leg and start biting on the car parts. I scream in pain when the broken glass slightly cut my forehead and the T-Rex crush us down and we all been drenched with mud. The three of us only manage to whimper, hopeless.

"HEYY!!" I heard Alan yell.
