Escaped Hunters

Chapter 11

Lex grabs my free hand and lead us to the kitchen.

We get in the kitchen, close the door and run at the one of the prep tables and hide. The three of us are breathing heavily, completely freak out in the inside. The adults went to find help. We're are alone in the kitchen with a raptor hunting us and no one will come out to rescue. We have to rescue ourselves.

A screech interrupt my thoughts. I peek a bit and saw the raptor's face on the glass, huffing. It let out another screech. Lex flinch. The raptor let out some calls.

"What is that thing?" Lex ask.

"A Velociraptor. The one that eats meat." Tim answer.

"What is that thing doing?" Lex whispers.

"Its calling." I whisper.

"For what?"

"Backup."

The colour from Lex's face is draining and she leans back. "How many are there?" I ask Lex. "From hearing it,I think its only one." She spoke way too soon. I heard another screech. "Two raptors. Two Velociraptors!" Tim whisper.

"They hunt in a pack. I should known." I groan quietly. I heard they play the door knob. It twisted and the raptors get in the kitchen. "They're inside with us!" Lex whisper yell. "Calm down. I'm here." I said.

"Just follow me." Lex said. Lex crawl first, I follow her from behind with Tim on my hands. We crawl near the kitchen appliance one of the raptors knock them over. Lex shriek a bit and quickly crawl in front at the other alley. Me and Tim being a little slow, we manage to hide behind where the cooks hang their kitchen utensils. I lean a bit and ladle accidentally drops on the floor making a loud 'clank'. The raptors' head perk up.

One of them walk near us, I crawl a bit further just in time as we saw the raptor sniffing the ladle and I hold Tim tight. Lex usher us to her direction from afar, both of us shake our heads furiously and the raptor is on top of us, still unaware of us.

I closed my eyes when the raptor's head is right next to me. Lex use a ladle and beat it on the floor,catching the raptors' attention. Lex hide in some sort of food storage and tried to close the door. I heard the raptor yelp and Lex's scream. In the end, I saw the raptor hit Lex's reflection instead of herself. Lex slip out and crawl to the other way.

Me and Tim look at each other, unsure what to do. I look up and the raptor's head is down. "On three, I run you hold on me tightly. "I whisper. Tim nod and wrap his arms around my neck.

"One." I whisper.

"Two." Tim whisper.

"Three."

I hold on the floor for support and limping away from the raptor. The raptor saw us and start chasing. Both me and Tim scream loudly. "Faster!" Tim said. I hold his legs tighter and ran straight to the freezer.

The raptor still on us but going way too fast and hit the frozen meat fall down, the floor of the freezer is slippery and I fell on my butt, Tim still in my arms. I hold on the nearest rack and adjusting my feet. I scream and run out from the freezer just in time. I close the door and the its claw on the door. "Push it!" I shriek. Tim and I push the door with all of our strength and close the door, leaving the raptor inside.

Lex locks the door with the key. I lean on an inventory rack, catching my breath while Tim lean his head on my shoulder, also catching his breath. Someone grab my hand and I gasped, afraid it might be the other raptor but turns out its only Lex. "We need to leave!"

Like earlier, she grabs my free hand and pull us out from the kitchen. Back in the dining room, I let out a relief sigh when I saw Alan and Dad with rifles on their hands also with Ellie. Lex run to Alan. I run to Ellie and give Tim to her before I collapsed on Dad's arms, him hugging me and kiss the top of my head. Lex points the kitchen direction. "In there." Alan aim the rifle at the kitchen direction. "Control room." Alan said, the rest of us backs up. Dad's left arm is around my waist and on his right, holding a rifle.He whisper a few comforting words to my ear.

At the control room, we all get in and Ellie went to a computer. "We need to reboot the system!" she said.Alan close the door.  "The door locks. Get the door locks!" he said, trying to lock it but stop when he heard a huff. Alan looks up at the glass and his eyes widening. The raptor huffs again and it twist the handle.

The raptor succeed but Alan push it and close the door again and struggling to hold the door. Ellie and Dad went to Alan and help him. "Get the door locks!" Alan said. "We can't leave you alone!" Ellie said.

Lex went to the computer. "This is UNIX system I know this!" Lex said. "I just to find the right file.

I heard the adults shouting at each other. "Grab my gun!" Alan said. "I can't reach it!" Ellie said. "Shane!Where's your gun!!" Alan yell." It's leaning on one of the chair!! I can't leave you two!"

"LEX, come on." I said. "I'm still finding it." Lex said in concentration. She click an icon and there's more file. She randomly clicks one, only to find the wrong file. "Come on!!" Tim hit the chair impatiently. Lex scroll again and again and she found the right icon and she found the 'visitor center' file and click it.

"I did it!! it works!" Lex squeals.I heard the door locks automatically and the adults were relief and went to us. "What work?"  Ellie ask. "Everything is working again." Lex said. Alan went to the telephone and dials a number.

"Mr.Hammond. The phones are working."

"The children are fine. Call the mainland. Tell them to send the damn helicopters."

"Its gonna come through the glass!" Ellie screams. Alan aim the rifle and fire three and left the phone hanging. I heard Mr.Hammond yelling.

"Grant? Grant!!"
