Escaped Hunters

Chapter 12

Lainey Blake
Alan grabs a ladder. We climb on the ladder and enter the air vent. Alan kick the ladder so the raptors won't climb on.

Alan lead the group to go deeper in the air vents, I was behind Alan and Dad behind me when suddenly I was lifted into the air by a raptor. I scream and Alan kick the raptor's face and it fall, I grab on the side in the nick of time or I will fall right to the raptors. I hold on the sides, my legs are dangling. Dad, Alan and Ellie help me before the raptor tried to bite my leg.

"Move! move!" Dad said. "Tim move!" Alan said to him. 

We get out from the air vent and step on the platform. I realize that we're on the top, where the bones are hanging. As if it wasn't enough, the raptor met us again and let out a growling sound at us. "Jump to the bones!" Dad yell. Lex and Dad jump to the head and neck part, me, Tim and Alan jump on the ribcage part. Tim hold on to me like in the kitchen and I hold Alan's hand and the raptor is with us. Ellie jump to the tail part. When the raptor jumps, the bone break in three parts.

We hold on the bones spinning around. Alan looks at me. "Lainey, let go." Tim hold me tightly and I let go of his hand and both of us scream and fell on the ground with a 'thump'.

"Timmy, you okay?"I ask him. "Yeah, I'm fine." he smiles at me. I saw Ellie fell and cover herself from the bones falling on top of her. I saw Lex and Dad fall together. I look up and saw Alan falling the other direction while the bone we were holding on just now, is falling on top of us.

I scream with Tim and cover our heads.bI feel the tip of the bone is barely touching my hair. Alan grab my hand and met with Dad and Lex as we back up from the raptor. We back up until a growl startle us and the other raptor in front. I look behind and the raptor is sneering at me.

WE WERE SURROUNDED!

Dad hold my hands and I grip it more tightly. The raptor is in attack position. This is it. This is the end of Lainey Blake. I close my eyes and hide my face at Dad. I heard the raptor pounce when I heard another deep roar. The roar from the T-Rex itself. I open my eyes and saw the T-Rex easily eat the raptor. The T-Rex save us.

The six of us hide behind a rock and the other raptor is pouncing towards the T-Rex. The T-Rex fight with it and we exit the visitor center. Ellie carry Timmy, Dad put his arm around my shoulders and I limp away from the place.

Mr.Hammond arrives in a jeep with the injured Ian. Ellie, Lex and Tim get in first, Dad pull me into his lap and Alan jump to the front seat.

"Mr.Hammond, after careful considerations I've decided to not endorsed your park."

"So have I." Mr.Hammond reply. He drives away from the visitor center and the last thing I heard in there is a loud roar from the T-Rex.

The helicopter is here to pick us up. I sat on the floor next to Ian. I brought my knees to my chest. "I thought you were dead, Malcolm." I mutter. "I thought you were dead too, Lainey."

"Well I'm still here. Is this are part of your chaos theory?"

Ian chuckle. "Part of it. I didn't expected it but yeah, it happened."

"Come on Ian, I'll help you go in the helicopter." Ellie made Ian stand up help him go in. Dad pulls me up and I lean on him. "I'm glad we made it alive." I smile. "Me too Dad."

Alan and Ellie walk to us. Ellie hug me tightly. "I heard you were electrocuted! Are you okay?! Don't you ever do crazy things again!" She nags me. "I can't promise that but I never ever gonna climb on electrified fence again."
"Good."

I saw Mr.Hammond staring at his destroyed dreams. The four of us look at each other with worried looks. I put my hand on his shoulder. He tense a bit but then relax when he saw me. "Are you okay, Mr.Hammond?"

"John. Call me John."

"Oh...um are you okay John?"

"To be honest, I thought I was so close opening this park. A park that no one never think about it before. Because I hired the wrong guy, everything went chaos and few people die along the way."

"John, humans always make mistake. From that mistake, we learn from it.We are not perfect."

"Shane really taught you a lot huh?Like father, like daughter. You're a smart girl."

I blush. "Thank you."

The adults went to us. "Mr.Hammond, we need to leave." Alan said quietly, Ellie and Dad nod their heads. Mr.Hammond sigh before take one last look at his park and Ellie and Alan help him in. I limp in the helicopter, sitting next to Dad. It feels like when we arrive here for the first time.

The helicopter start flying away from the island. I lean on Dad's shoulder. "Oh,wait I forgot! Lainey, I found this after you escape from the T-Rex." Ellie said, giving me back my camera.

My eyes widen and my lips curl into a smile. "This baby is a survivor. I really forgot about it!"I said. Dad slap his forehead. "Oh,yeah! You gave me your camera to me after we found the sick Triceratop! I must've left it when I got out when the T-Rex attack you, Lex and Tim."

"Well at least I've some good memories in this camera." I put my camera on my lap. I saw Lex and Tim leaning on Alan and he didn't resist it. I guess he finally like kids. Ellie saw it too and we both grin at each other.

I lean on Dad's shoulder and close my eyes. Finally, we got out from the island. We're going back home. "Dad?"I ask him,s till closing my eyes. "Yeah,honey?"

"Where are we going after this?"

"Back where we come from and no working."
