Chapter 5

Lainey Blake
We walk back downstairs after lunch. "You will be spending some time with the target audience for the tour and be nice to them." Mr.Hammond said, carefully taking one step one at the time.

"GRANDPA!!" two kids yell excitedly when they saw Mr.Hammond.

"KIDS!!" Mr.Hammond yells back, spreading his arms wide as the two kids practically tackle Mr.Hammond on the stairs and hug him.

"We miss you." the girl said.

"Do you like my presents?" Mr.Hammond ask them.

"We love it Grandpa!" the little boy said, throwing his arms in the air.

Mr.Hammond chuckles and hugs both of them. Ellie looking rather shocked just giggle. Alan look very uninterested and cross his arm around his chest. Oh yeah! I forgot that he's not too keen with kids. Except me. Dad and I share a sad look as a memory came in my mind.

A memory of both me and Dad greet Mum when she came back from the Army. I was a kid back then so I just kept giggling and kiss Mum various times at her face until I'm satisfied. Mum would give in and manage to give Dad a side hug because of me and Dad would wrap his arms around us and we stay like that. Our little perfect family.

"Lainey?" Ian wave his hand in front of me. "Sorry I kinda zoned out for a bit." I shake my head a few times. "About?" Ian ask, both of us walk down the stairs and I finally realize the others are already outside. "My Mum. She died 10 years ago during her service for the U.S Army." I said quietly.

"Wow that's cool is she a soldier?"

"Uhh...no she's a combat paramedic."

"You and Shane miss her don't you?" I nod. "She died as a warrior Lainey and the country will remembered her service with the Army. She is proud of you even though she's not here but she's up there,watching you and your Dad. Remember that, kiddo." Ian said, patting my shoulder.

"Thanks Dr.Malcolm." I smile.

"Ian, call me Ian. I know we start off with a bad start so how about a truce?Friends?" Ian ask. "Friends." I grin and hug him.

"Oh I kinda want to hear your chaos theory."

"Yeah sure, while we're walking out." He chuckles.

As soon as he finishes,we already outside and there are two electric cars hearing from what Mr.Hammond said. I look at Ian.
"Have fun you hear that?"
I giggle and nod before walking to Dad. "Lainey! You okay? You zoned out a bit back there and Ian insisted to make sure you're fine, did he do anything?" Dad ask worried about me.

"Yeah I'm fine. I thought about our hugs to Mum when she came back from the Army and Ian give me good motivation and between me and him we're friends now."

"That's good. You want to join with us or do you want to join with the kids?" Dad ask.

"I think I'll join with the kids and Gennaro because I think Alan is kinda annoyed with the little boy and I don't trust Gennaro with the kids because all he thinks is money." I shrug.

"Well I think Gennaro is a bit of a scaredy cat." Dad chuckle.

We went to different ways. Me at the first car and Dad to the second car. I get in the car and sit beside the little boy. The little boy look at me, grinning widely.

"Hi,I'm Lainey Blake." I smile sweetly at the kids. "Hi I'm Lex." the girl said, smiling back to me. "Hi, I'm Tim. So you're Dr.Shane's daughter?" Tim ask.

"Yeah, I am and my Dad is also Alan Grant's best friend."

"Cool! it must be exciting digging bones right?" Tim ask. "Very." I nod and the car start moving. "Sorry if my little brother ask too many questions." Lex said."Oh no its fine I don't mind." I insist.

"So you guys are very lucky that you have a billionaire grandfather."

"We are. He always dreams big and I'm so surprised when he invited us to Jurassic Park with some experts." Lex said.

"He badly want this park to be successful and he want your opinions about it." I said.

"Look!" Tim said,pointing the big gates. "Whoa." I said when we went through the big gates. "This is so cool!It's gonna be the best weekend ever!" Tim cheers, Lex and I giggle.

"Now we are approaching the Dilophosaurus paddock." a computer voice said.

"Where?!" I press my face at the window with a camera in my hand, Tim and Lex following my move.

"This dinosaur may look beautiful but it spits venomous venom to its victim to weaken it before killing it."

"But where is it?" Tim ask, impatient.

We look through the window to find any signs of the dinosaur then slump back to our seat when there is nothing.

"Maybe its playing hide and seek." I joke, making Lex and Tim laugh.

We drive to another paddock, a bigger one this time.

"Now we are approaching the Tyrannosaurus Rex better known as T-Rex paddock one of our largest carnivores at Jurassic Park."

My eyes went wide and look at the window again.

"We're gonna feed it. Just watch." Mr.Arnold I think said at our radio.A goat suddenly appears, chained. "It's gonna eat the goat?!" Lex ask, looking nervous.
"Excellent." Tim turns around to me Gennaro.

"What's the matter kid? You never have lamb chops before?" Gennaro ask, looking at the paddock. "I happen to be a vegetarian." Lex said.

I let out a huff when the T-Rex never appear and the goat coolly sat down. "So much for a fun weekend." I shake my head.

"This is boring!" Tim groans. "The feeling is mutual." I raise my hand and Lex giggle. "We've been in the car for how long?" Lex wondered.

I stretch my arm as I stare at the window. Then I saw something that caught my eyes. "I'm getting out from this car." I announce. "You can't go out like that!" Gennaro objects but I open the door and walk towards it.

I saw Alan already in front of me so I run to him. "You saw it too?" I ask. Alan nod and I saw everyone get out of the car and Dad run up to me.

"How come your eyes like Alan?" Dad ask weirdly. "Dunno." I shrug then giggle when I saw Tim is talking to Alan. Well attempt to. Lex trying to catch up with us and when she did, she accidentally trip herself and Alan help her up. Lex kept her arms around Alan protectively.

The kids already like Alan even he didn't try to.

"Wait here." Alan said, walking ahead. Me and Tim follow him even when Ellie call us.

"Timmy!" I call him. I walk to where he stop and my eyes widening.

Alan is with the sick Triceratop. I walk to it and squat near its head. Everyone look shock. Dad squat down next to me. "Poor thing."

Ellie talks with the guy, Dr.Harding I think about the dinosaur.

"That's one big pile of-" Ian said and I nudge him. "Language." I warn him. Ellie pull her hands out from the pile of poop and mumbling to herself. "You do remember to wash your hands before you eat anything right?" Ian call out.

I just giggle and walk back to the sick Triceratop where everyone are.

Then a thunder strucks to earth loudly.

"Doctors I insisted that we should head back to our vehicle and head back to the visitor center." Gennaro said.

"You guys go ahead I'll stay here with Dr.Harding." Ellie said. "Yeah, I have my jeep here and I'll give Dr.Sattler a ride back to the visitor center." he said.

We all start walking back to our vehicle as more thunder can be heard.
