Kylie hadn't gotten much sleep that night. Thoughts of her verbally abusive partner came flooding through her mind repeatedly.

"Bakit sa lahat ng lalaki, siya pa yung magiging ama ng anak ko?" She thought. "Why did I allow him to take over the decisions I was making for myself and the baby? Why did I allow him to take over my life?"

Regret was what Kylie felt right now. If only she could turn back time, she never would've gotten back with Aljur. She could've just listened to what her friends said, to what her Papa said, that he would cause her harm.. that instead of being a blessing, she would eventually wish that they had never met in the first place.

A few minutes passed 7 in the morning, it was the smell of freshly-cooked bacon and sunny side up eggs that woke Kylie up. She knew that Ruru had stayed true to what he had told her yesterday night that he was going to prepare breakfast for the both of them.

The simple gesture was enough to make Kylie want to get out of bed, to face another day. Something that Aljur never did when they lived under one roof.

"Gising ka na pala." Ruru said, as soon as he noticed Kylie standing by the doorway.

Despite the fact that her baby bump was very obvious under the baggy shirt that he had lent her the night before, Ruru still found Kylie breathtakingly gorgeous. Well, ever since he first laid his eyes on her, he always did, and that never ever changed.

"Um.." he said, as soon as he realized that he was staring at her a lot longer than usual. "Nakatulog ka ba ng maayos? Sorry kung hindi ganun ka kumportable yung kama ko. Wala na kasi akong time na bumili ng bago eh. Masyadong busy sa taping." He added.

"Wag kang mag-alala. I got the rest that my body needed." Kylie answered as she slowly approached the dining table. "Ikaw yung dapat na tinatanong ko kung nakatulog ka ba ng maayos. Mukha kasing.. stiff.. yung couch mo eh." She admitted, making Ruru smile.

"Ayos lang ako. Promise." He assured her.

"Alam mo, masarap kumain lalong lalo na kung mainit pa yung handa. Kaya sige na, kumain ka na." Ruru said, pulling the chair out for her.

"Thank you," Kylie responded. "Samahan mo na rin ako."

As soon as the both of them were settled, they began to eat as if it was something that they were used to doing.. together.

Everything just felt so natural. The way Kylie placed food on Ruru's plate first, their conversations about Encantadia's storyline, and what was next for their showbiz careers.

Kylie knew that, for now, her career was over. She had to focus on her son, and she was alright with it, because she loved him beyond compare.

Ruru was just focused on Encantadia. When the show would finally wrap up, that would be the time that he'd start going through other projects.

"Um, Ruru.." Kylie said, when silence fell upon them. "About last night. Thank you.. so so much." She added.

"As much as I want to tell you what really happened, hindi pa ako kumportable. I mean, it's not because I don't trust you. It's just that.. andaming nangyayari sa buhay ko ngayon, and everything's just going downhill for me." She admitted.

"For one, I thought that this was going to be a happy pregnancy, but clearly, it isn't and I have no one to blame but myself."

"Ky, wag kang magsalita ng ganyan." Ruru said, his voice as gentle as ever. "Lahat ng nangyayari sa buhay ng isang tao, may dahilan. Hindi mo man maintindihan ngayon, pero maniwala ka, baka ito yung makakabuti sa'yo at sa baby mo."

"Ilang buwan nalang, manganganak ka na." Ruru smiled, though deep inside, it tore him apart. "Kahit na masakit yung pinagdadaanan mo ngayon, yung anak mo nalang yung isipin mo. Na ang lahat ng ginagawa mo ngayon ay para sa kanya. Sigurado akong, kahit konti, gagaan ang loob mo."

As these words escaped Ruru's mouth, Kylie couldn't help but tear up. Why hadn't she realized sooner how good of a man he was? Why hadn't she realized that maybe if she chose to open her heart to him, things would've been different?

Even if she was sitting there, carrying another man's baby, Ruru still cared. He cared enough to take her in, to assure her that there was a rainbow after the rain.

Kylie stood up gently, immediately went to his side and gave him the sweetest side hug with their cheeks pressed against each other.

"Avisala eshma.. Ybrahim." She jokingly said, despite the tear that was slowly rolling down her face.

"Walang anuman, mahal kong.. Amihan." He responded, gently squeezing her arms that were wrapped around him. "Bumalik ka na sa Encantadia please."

And for the first time in a long time, Kylie let out a hearty laugh and this was music to Ruru's ears. Something he wouldn't mind listening to.. forever.
