Her Safe Haven, Her Knight in Shining Armor

When Aljur left that afternoon, Ruru was oddly quiet. He didn't know what to say nor what to feel after seeing the love of his life being embraced by someone else. It hurt too much, even if it wasn't supposed to... even if he was supposed to be assured of Kylie's love for him.

When they sat on the couch to talk about "their plans", Ruru went inside his room and closed the door behind him. He couldn't stand being in the same room as them, and more importantly, he couldn't understand why Kylie was even talking to Aljur in the first place.

What he did to her was unforgivable, and if Ruru was in her shoes, the mere idea of reconciliation would never cross his mind, because Aljur was never worth it. He will never be worth it.

As Ruru stood in the balcony to clear his mind, he felt Kylie wrap her arms around the low of his waist from behind.

She slowly leaned on his left arm and sighed.

"Ru, I'm sorry sa nangyari kanina. You didn't have to see all that." Kylie said.

"Ano ba talaga ang gusto mong mangyari, Ky?" Ruru asked as he breathed heavily. "Nandito naman ako, pero bakit parang nararamdaman ko na mas gusto mong bumalik kay Aljur? Na mas gusto mong mabuo ang pamilya niyo kahit alam mo namang hindi ka niya trinatrato ng tama." He added.

"Hey, that's not true." Kylie said as she let go of her grasp on Ruru's waist in order to stand beside him. "Sino bang nagsabing gusto ko yang mangyari? Ru, it's you that I want. Not him. Don't you trust me?" She added as she looked into his deep, brown eyes, seeking for an answer to her question.

"Pinagkakatiwalaan naman kita, pero..." Ruru answered, the hesitation evident in his voice. "Natatakot ako na baka dumating ang araw na magigising ka, tapos ma-rerealize mo na mas matimbang pa rin si Aljur sa puso mo... na mas marami at mas malalim pa rin ang pinagsamahan niyo kaysa sa atin." He added.

"Sa totoo lang, Ky, natatakot lang naman akong mawala ka sa akin eh. Ngayon lang talaga ako nagmahal ng ganito." Ruru admitted. "Yung sa amin ni Gabbi noon, wala pa 'yun. Puppy love lang na alam kong wala namang patutunguhan. Pero nang makilala kita, nag-iba ang lahat. Parang nawalan ako ng oras sa pagpapaligoy-ligoy, dahil sa'yo lang ako natutong magseryoso sa pag-ibig. Oo, cheesy pagkinggan, pero yun ang totoo."

Kylie smiled gently as she cupped Ruru's face in her hands.

"Wala ka namang dapat ikatakot dahil today, tomorrow and for the rest of my life, it's you that I'll choose. Only you." She said.

"Yung nangyari kanina, between Aljur and I, we just simply laid out the set up for when our son would come out. Oo, maaaring hindi kami okay, but I want my son to have a good relationship with his father, and with that being said, I'm willing to make both ends meet kahit mahirap." Kylie explained.

"Ginagawa ko lang ang lahat ng 'to para sa anak ko, Ru. And don't worry... walang balikan na mangyayari. I don't want to make the same, stupid mistake the second time. Kaya... smile ka na, please? Alam mo, mas gwapo ka kapag nakangiti."

Ruru smiled faintly, slowly giving in to Kylie's sweetness and her irresistible charms.

Assurance was all he needed. Assurance that he was the one she loved and that there was no one who could replace him in her life.

"Ayan... ang gwapo ng rama ng Sapiro oh. Bagay na bagay para sa hara durie ng Lireo." Kylie joked as she gently pinched Ruru's cheek. "I love you... so so much. So please," She said, caressing his face. "Trust me. Trust us. Everything's going to be alright."

Ruru nodded in reply as he planted a soft kiss on Kylie's lips, before finally embracing her.

As they stood there, wrapped in each others' arms, feeling the warmth of their skin and the coolness of the evening breeze, Kylie wished that she and Ruru would always be like this. That at the end of each tiring and challenging day, they'd always have each other run to.

Ruru wished for the same thing as well, as he kissed her on the forehead, his arms still wrapped comfortably around her. He wanted Kylie so bad, and he was willing to do everything in his power to make this relationship work.

If Ybrahim wasn't able to rescue Amihan from the turmoil she was in, which had eventually caused her to lose her life, Ruru was different. He was going to be Kylie's safe haven, her knight in shining armor and he was going to keep it that way... forever.
