After two days, Kylie was discharged from the hospital when her doctor had affirmed that she and her baby were fine. He had simple advised her to stay away from stress to prevent her from bleeding again, which was likely to be more dangerous since she was in her final month of pregnancy.
"Grabe, parang kailan lang, ang liit pa ng tiyan ko. Ngayon, isang buwan nalang ang hihintayin ko para makita ko ang anak ko." Kylie said, as she sat on one of the chairs at the dining room of Ruru's condo.
He was busy whipping something up for them to eat.
"Oo nga eh. Ang bilis talaga ng panahon." Ruru said, as he glanced at Kylie. "Sigurado naman akong excited ka nang makita siya. Ikaw pa." He added.
"Well, I am, but... ninenerbyos din ako." Kylie admitted. "I've been dreaming about giving birth lately. At aaminin ko, natatakot ako na something might go wrong."
Ruru paused from his current kitchen duty to look at Kylie, her beautiful face coated with worry and anxiety. She was fidgeting in her seat, convinced that something bad was going to happen on her day of labor and he knew that he had to assure that everything was going to be alright... like he always did.
"Ky," Ruru said as he took the seat next to her. "Magiging okay ang lahat. Wag kang masyadong ma-praning." He added, tucking a stray strand of her hair behind her ear.
"Kung gusto mo, kakausapin ko si mama. Tatanungin ko siya kung ano ang mga pwede mong gawin para maging safe yung delivery mo."
Kylie smiled gently in reply.
"Thanks, Ru. Na-prapraning lang talaga ako because it's my first time at alam kong masakit siya." She said. "How I wish pwede akong mag-Amihan mode while in labor. Yung parang, effortless lang ang paglabas ng baby... maganda ka pa rin." She joked.
"Alam mo, kahit punong puno ka pa ng pawis at napaka-haggard, magagandahan pa rin ako sa'yo. Hinding hindi talaga 'yun magbabago." Ruru said, looking into her eyes.
It was the truth, anyway. Kylie could wear a black, trash bag and Ruru would still think that she was the most beautiful girl in the entire universe.
"Kahit mabaho pa ako? Kahit kung ano ano pa ang lumalabas sa katawan ko?" Kylie asked.
"Kahit mabaho ka pa. Kahit kung ano ano pa ang lumabas sa katawan mo." Ruru repeated, caressing the latter's face gently.
Suddenly, they looked into each other's eyes and felt nothing but love, the one that was enough to sweep you off your feet and assure you that it was the good kind, leaving you happy and fulfilled deep inside.
Ruru leaned in for a kiss. A short, but sweet one supposedly, but he was quite surprised when Kylie held unto his face, signaling that she wanted something more than just a peck. She wanted a long, passionate and fiery one, much like the kiss Amihan and Ybrahim shared during the former's emotional goodbye to her lover.
As they kissed, their lips moved in an incredible synchronization, both meeting and parting when they needed. They could taste each other, and the combination of both love and lust was so close to driving them insane.
Ruru could tell that Kylie had more "experience" in this field. With every kiss, every bite and every touch, he could feel that she was definitely luring him towards her and that he was slowly giving in.
But Ruru wasn't going to allow Kylie to dominate though, so he gently pulled her close and started leaving a trail of kisses from her jaw down to her neck.
As Kylie felt Ruru's soft lips on her neck, she couldn't help but feel a bit awkward at the mere fact that she was making out with him while she was pregnant, but she couldn't help it. Her hormones were crazy and she wanted him. She wanted him really, really bad.
Just when she was about to slowly tug on Ruru's shirt, the doorbell of the latter's condo rang, causing the both of them to stop abruptly.
"May tao." Kylie said.
"Hindi, may hayop." Ruru joked.
The former smiled as she playfully hit his shoulder in reply.
"Grabe yung timing. Ayos talaga." Ruru said as he slowly lifted his face from Kylie's neck.
"Don't worry, we'll pick up where we left off as soon as that visitor goes away. I promise." Kylie said, gently caressing Ruru's face.
The latter responded with a smile, his signature be-dimpled smile and walked towards the door to see who the "guest" was... the guest with the oh so perfect timing.
As soon as Ruru opened the door, the blood flowing through his system immediately boiled. The guest standing right before him was someone he didn't want to see, someone he had long wanted to get rid of.
"Anung ginagawa mo dito?" He asked, the tone of his voice slowly shifting into an angry one.
"Nandito ako para kausapin si Kylie. Nandito ako para kunin ang mag-ina ko." A much sober Aljur said, as he stood by the doorway thinking that Ruru was going to let him in.
"Sa tingin mo ba papayag ako? Pagkatapos ng lahat ng ginawa mo sa baby shower ni Kylie?" Ruru said.
"Hindi ko sinasadya ang mga nangyari. Lasing ako." Aljur explained. "Pero ngayon, nasa tamang pag-iisip na 'ko kaya papasukin mo ko kung ayaw mong magkagulo ulit dito."
Ruru scoffed in reply.
"Minsan na kitang natalo sa bugbugan, Aljur, kaya hindi mo ko matatakot sa pinagsasabi mong walang kwenta." He added.
Noticing that Ruru had taken quite some time just answering the door, Kylie decided to stand and check if he was okay. It was then that she and her despised ex-fiancée had made eye contact, causing him to notice her from afar.
"Ky, please... mag-usap tayo. Ayokong papasukin ng tarantadong 'to." Aljur said, thinking that the pleading tone in his voice would cause Kylie to feel pity for him.
"Mahal, let's fix our relationship. Let's fix our family. I know kaya pa natin. Pinagsisihan ko na ang lahat ng ginawa ko sa'yo. Please."
As Aljur begged for Kylie to hear him out, Ruru looked at her and saw that despite the anger she felt for him, she still cared and she did want to listen to his reasons no matter how irrational they were.
At the end of the day, Ruru knew that nothing was going to change the fact that Aljur was still the father of her baby and not him, so even if it pained him to do so, he moved aside and gave Aljur some space to get inside his condo.
Almost immediately, Aljur walked towards Kylie and pulled her into a embrace.
"Mahal, I'm sorry. Please... patawarin mo na ko." He uttered as he continued to hug her.
Ruru could not bear to look at such a sight, so he looked away in an attempt to spare himself from the pain.
Despite Aljur's tall frame, Kylie saw this and undeniably felt a pain in her chest as she realized that the man she loved was in deep pain because of her. She could see it in his body language, and the fact that he couldn't stare at them while this was all happening.
"I'm sorry, Ru." She thought, her eyes not leaving him. "But please... just trust me on this. Just trust me."
