The Accident

"That's not reassuring honey"

Maríe's pov:
I quickly walk out of the room trying to keep myself from crying. Jake follows me quietly.

"Mar? Are you okay." He asks me.

"Yes." I say quietly.

"That's not reassuring honey." He says trying imitate my dad's accent.

I giggle.

"Okay okay I'm going to be fine." I say in mid giggles.

Jake pulls up a chair and sits down.

"So miss Mar I would love a massage." He says leaning back and closing his eyes.

"Well what is you're injury?" I ask.

"Broken hip." He says.

I get quiet trying to think of a response.

"Well I know exactly what to do." I say and then sit down on his legs and set my crutches on the ground carefully.

"Just what I needed." He says and then wraps his arms around my stomach.

I giggle and then he tickles me and I break out laughing. Im sure people can hear me but I don't care.

Emma's pov:
I watch them for a while and then see tears comming out of Maríe's eyes. I stand up quickly and everyone gets quiet.

Maríe's pov:
"Stop it." I say and grab my crutches and stand up. I look into the window quickly and see everyone watching me. My giggles immediately stop.

"Mar?" He says looking at me.

I turn around and open the door to my hospital room and walk in and pick up my phone. I type something in it and show my doctor. She reads it aloud.

"I will try and speak if you let me go outside of the hospital for some real fresh air." She reads.

"Okay but take Jake with you." She says to me with a small smile.

I nod my head and Jake brings my wheelchair over. I sit down and Jake takes my crutches and attaches them to the chair. He pushes me out of the room and out of the hospital. We stop at the little pond outside of the hospital. I stand up and he gives me my crutches.

"Can we go to the town?" I ask quietly.

"Are you sure Mar?" He asks me.

"Yep." I say. He walks me over to his car and helps me in and then drives me to the town that is five minutes away.

He walks over to my side of the door and opens it handing me my crutches. I take them from him and smile. I carefully get out and we make our way to granny's. It seems like it's busy. We walk over and Jake opens the door for me. I walk in and everyone turns. I see balloons everywhere and the name Jones on the walls.

I look around and it's all of my family. They all smile and walk over to me when they see me. Good thing I got changed and did my makeup and hair. I push my straightened hair behind my shoulders and smile shyly at everyone. I make my way over to the counter and sit down and Jake sits down next to me.

"What is this all about?" He asks.

"Emma's gender reveal." Says Lana.

My smile turns into a frown. I stand up and hug Lana and Regina and then take out my phone and hand it to Jake.

Jake's pov:
Emma: "Maríe?"

Jake: "Sorry not Maríe. We are at a party. You're missing it. Can you guess what it is?"

Emma: "Oh my God. And Maríe is there!"

Jake: "Well she just walked out but yes she was there."

Emma: "I will be there soon. I wish she would talk with me Jake."

Jake: "Well that's a big step. Do you need anything Emma?"

Emma: "I have one question... why does Maríe talk with you and not her parents and siblings?"

Jake: "Well that's complicated... and I'm actually not sure."

Emma: "Okay. Well I will be there soon keep her out of trouble." She says and then hangs up.

Maríe's pov:
I walk out of Granny's while Jake calls my mom about the party. I walk on the side walk and I hear a car speeding down the road. I don't know what happens to me but my whole body just starts to shake and I fall to the ground and hit my hip and head. Everything goes black.

I wake up in my hospital room. I look around and see my mom in the corner in my dad's arms. She is not facing me but my dad is. When he sees me he smiles and whispers something to my mom. She turns around and smiles brightly at me. Normally I would smile back but I just turn away and focus on the ceiling.

The door opens and I see Jake walk in. He comes and sits down next to me and my parents walk out.

"They're gone Mar. Can you tell me what happened?" He asks me.

I look away from him and shake my head.

Jake's pov:
I try and get her to tell me anything but she acts like how she acts to her parents and family and the doctors. What ever happened messed with her head.

I stand up and walk out of the room trying not to break into tears. Her parents are waiting with the doctor outside of the room. I walk out and force myself to look at them.

"So what's wrong?" Asks the doctor.

"I.... i.... I don't know.... she seems shaken up..... she won't tell me anything." I say and walk away.

Maríe's Pov:
Jake walks out of the room and tears spill out of my eyes. I wipe them away quickly and sit up and look at my phone. The news has pictures of me when I.... well when what ever happened. I look at them and then I noticed all of the blood around me.

"Mom!!" I yell.

My mom runs in.

"Mom what happened?" I ask tears threatening to fall.

"I don't know Maríe... we were hoping you would tell us." She says sitting carefully down next to me.

"I... i...i... I don't know.... what happened.... why is there blood everywhere in this picture?" I ask her.

She looks at the picture and frowns.

"Maríe-Belle. When you fell you hit you're head and you're hip and you're hip gave out..." She sniffles.

"Mom?"

"They are not sure you will be able to walk Maríe." She says quietly.

My heart starts to beat super fast and my hand starts to shake and then I remember the noise of the car when it hit me. My whole body starts to shake and then I feel and see nothing.
