Warriors- Flood Water

Chapter Four

  A Thunderclan patrol sat patiently, waiting for them. Rockpaw scanned the patrol, five cats, two equal patrols. Two warriors, Rockpaw recognized one from a gathering, the black tom, Nightclaw and the other warrior was a bracken colored she cat. The two warriors brought along their apprentices, whose names Rockpaw forgot. The whole patrol was led by a large russet she cat with a small bobbed tail. "Good afternoon, Salmonfur." Ratnose greeted the she cat. "Nice to see you, Ratnose." The two cats both seemed to have such an urge to pounce. Way to go Thunderclan and Shadowclan make the two most fight-thirsty cats lead a patrol to talk to each other. Rockpaw sighed as the two continued their conversation. "You know why we're here? Don't you?" Ratnose sat down and wrapped his thick tail over his paws. "No idea, what did we do?" Salmonfur meowed sarcastically. "Salmonfur, we don't want a fight! Provoking them isn't going to help the situation!" The bracken she cat meowed, her voice was filled with worry, she clearly didn't want to fight either. "Keep your mouth shut Mothfoot, you are not to interfere!" Mothfoot, stood her ground, her voice was more confident now. "You are not leader, you are not deputy, you are not my mentor, thus you have no say over anything I do! What will starting a fight accomplish? We won't be able to get the territory we so desperately need if we just destroy the cats who claim it!" Ratnose flicked his tail, "If you are done interrupting, I would like to say something." Snowdew stepped back as Ratnose crouched down in a pouncing position. Rockpaw wanted to jump in and stop him but it was too late, "If it's a fight she wants, it's a fight she gets!" Ratnose leaped into the air and landed on Salmonfur, "Ratnose! Stop! Stormstar said not to start a figh-" Before Snowdew could even finish her sentence, Nightclaw slammed into her, knocking her to the ground. Tendrilfur and Doveclaw rushed over to help. The two apprentices each clawed at them as Nightclaw and Snowdew fought. Rockpaw backed up straight into Mothfoot. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry." Mothfoot pounced onto Rockpaw. Rockpaw clawed into her side and bit into a small area of skin. Mothfoot yowled and let her go. Rockpaw slid under her and clawed her back flank. The she cat stumbled back around and slammed her head into Rockpaw's side. She slid across the ground and pushed herself back up and leapt up at Mothfoot, clawing into the side of her face. The she cat threw her off and stood her ground. Regret filled her eyes and her breathing was rushed. Rockpaw hissed as the she cat ran away. "Coward!" Rockpaw turned around as Salmonfur yelled at the fleeing warrior. Rockpaw looked around, Salmonfur was struggling under Ratnose now, Tendrilfur and Doveclaw we're teamed up back to back fighting off the two apprentices. Nightclaw had Snowdew by the scruff, blood dripping down her white fur. Rockpaw's heart jumped, "Get off her!" She clawed up dirt and grass ass her paws hit the ground, she jumped up straight onto Nightclaws face and clawed at his eye. The black tom yowled in surprise and dropped Snowdew. Rockpaw bit hard onto his ear, she could feel the skin ripping apart as the bitter taste of blood filled her mouth. "Get off of me!" Nightclaw screeched. In an attempt to get the apprentice of his ear, Nightclaw dropped to the ground and began to roll around. Rockpaw was thrown off, she spit out a big clump of bloody black skin. Rockpaw's eyes widened as she looked back at Nightclaw. His ear! She had ripped almost the whole ear off. "You'll pay for this twerp!" Nightclaw ran off, he turned around for a split second, "Splashpaw! Oakpaw! C'mon!" The two apprentices hissed as the ran, following after Nightclaw. One of them was limping badly as they ran. Rockpaw rushed over to Snowdew. Doveclaw and Tendrilfur were already trying to help her back up. "Wait, where's Ratnose?" Rockpaw ran back to the border, Salmonfur and Ratnose were still fighting! "Salmonfur your patrol left! You've lost!" Rockpaw called out. Ratnose released the she cat and she ran off following the patrol. Ratnose stood up and puffed his chest out, a triumphant grin across his face. "Ratnose you mousebrain!" Tendrilfur spat as he confronted the large tabby. "Stormstar specifically said not to start a fight, Snowdew can't even get up because of you!" Ratnose bared his teeth. "It's not my fault you all were too weak! I knew Rockpaw should've just let me get the patrol. I know cats much stronger than any of you!" Rockpaw growled, why did he have to be so mouse-brained! "Is something wrong? Do you not approve my judgement?" Ratnose spat at his apprentice. "Ratnose you need to learn the the clans don't revolve around you! Sometimes you don't always get what you want!" Ratnose flicked his tail as his teeth tightened together. His claws tearing up the ground beneath him. "C-C'mon Rockpaw, let's go." Tendrilfur and Rockpaw padded away from the raging warrior. Rockpaw led them back to camp as Tendrilfur and Doveclaw helped Snowdew walk. Rockpaw noticed the big gash on her chest, just below her neck that was keeping her from moving. She was going to bleed to death if they didn't get her help. "I'm gonna run ahead to get help okay?" Rockpaw meowed to the toms as the rested Snowdew on the ground. "Be quick!" Rockpaw ran as fast as she could towards camp. She could see the camp entrance. Rushing in she yowled for help, "Berryheart! Berryheart, come quickly!" The sandy tabby tom rushed out from the elders den. His mouth was full of herbs that he was giving them. He dropped them and ran over to Rockpaw. "What is it?! Where is the rest of the patrol?" Rockpaw padded in place impatiently. "Snowdew's hurt badly! She got a big gash under her neck! She's gonna bleed to death!"
