Viperstar lead the way as Stormstar followed. Rockpaw and her siblings weaved through cats following. The sat near the front, looking up at the four clan leaders. Stormstar jumped up to the bottom branch and groomed her fur down. Her green eyes blazed over all of them, examining the condition of them. Viperstar sat with his tail swishing slightly behind him. Thunderclans leader, Starlingstar sat where she was, her pale cream fur fluffed up as light rain plastered it. Windclan's leader, Gorsestar stood up from where he was sitting and began, "Thank you all for being patient and calm, we can begin now. I will go first if that is okay." His voice was loud and clear. Viperstar nodded his agreement as Gorsestar began to report. "As we all know, the rain has caused some slight flooding in some territories. I have made an agreement for Thunderclan to join together with Windclan. The prey is running well for such condition and everyone seems to be fed well and sheltered." Gorsestar sat back down on his branch and turned to Starlingstar, "Thank you Gorsestar. Thunderclan is truly grateful for .Windclan. As soon as the flood dries away we'll be out of your fur." Starlingstar nodded to Gorsestar as he whispered something silently to her. Stormstar swished her tail down and began her report. "Shadowclans camp is gone, we have little to no herbs or prey. I am not ashamed to say that we truly do need help. I have brought my whole clan today, from the smallest kit to the oldest elder. I wish to share the island with you Viperstar." Stormstar turned to Viperstar, her eyes had a sorry glow in them as if she wished she could find a better way to help her clan. Viperstar nodded then looked out at the cats "Your whole clan?" He asked her. Stormstar blinked at him, "They're all here." She looked over them all. Viperstar shook his head. "What happened? You used to have a large strong clan." Stormstar's neck fur stuck up, "They're still strong!" She meowed "I wouldn't doubt it, but what went down before the flood? Stormstar, you need to let us know. Was it a sickness? Were you attacked?" Stormstars eyes closed and she sighed. "Poison." She meowed. Rockpaw's paws felt heavy and her heart ached. Her siblings eyes were sad as they looked up at Stormstar. Their mother, Burrowheart had died because of the dreadful poison. "Towlegs did something to all the prey, anyone who ate a tainted piece of prey go seriously ill. Some cats didn't make it." Stormstar cleared her throat, "But that was in the past, the prey is clean now and no one should worry." Viperstar nodded, "Riverclan would be glad to have Shadowclan share the island with them. We still have plenty of fish and birds land on the island regularly. As long as we work together things should work out just fine. A fox did wander halfway across the log towards the island a few days ago but retreated back to mainland when it saw us." The leaders shared a few more words as Rockpaw shuffled her paws on the muddy ground. The cats all gathered around to say goodbye to each other as the gathering ended. Rockpaw weaved through the crowd of cats to see some of the other apprentices. Rockpaw found herself stuck behind a light reddish she cat. The she cat turned around and huffed at her. Rockpaw backed away as she starred at the large she cat, Salmonfur. Ratnose had beaten her on the border patrol. Rockpaw was the one to yell out that she had lost the fight. Not wanting any trouble, Rockpaw turned away from Salmonfur and nearly ran straight into the tall and thin black tom Nightclaw. She gazed up at him. His ear had healed well but would never be whole again. "I-I'm sorry about your ear." Rockpaw muffled under her breath. "Y-You just were about- um" Rockpaw lost her words as she stared down at her paws. "I was just looking out for my clanmate. Sh-She almost died because of you." Rockpaw looked behind her, Salmonfur had walked away as Nightclaw looked down at Rockpaw. "Calm down. I didn't mean to go so rough on your friend. I knew that she was off guard and I had an unfair advantage. You fought like a true warrior. I'll know to stay clear of you in the next battle." Rockpaw felt surprised. Nightclaw was a valuable warrior. "I-um thank you." Rockpaw meowed. Nightclaw shuffled his paws on the ground and shook of the mud. "I was hoping you could take me to the she cat I attacked. I would like to apologize for my unnecessary roughness." Rockpaw nodded her head and lead the tall warrior towards her clanmates. Doveclaw sat beside his sister chatting with another Windclan cat. "Snowdew? Nightclaw would like to talk with you." Snowdew turned around her sky blue eyes shining in the moonlight. "Oh, I uh. Hi..?" Snowdew meowed to Nightclaw, taking a step back from the black tom. "Snowdew, was it? I'd like t apoligize for the way I fought. It was unfair and I was much too rough on you. I'm just going through a tough time I didn't mean to hurt you like that." Snowdew blinked at him and let out a small giggle. "There is no need to apologize, I know you would never kill another cat." Rockpaw felt weird about how Snowdew felt so certain she knew who Nightclaw really was. The two cats chatted a bit and went separate ways as Thunderclan and Windclan left the island. All Rockpaw wanted to do was curl up and sleep.
