"Rockpaw! Toadpaw! Wake up!" Rockpaw yawned, "What is it, Tanglepaw?" Tanglepaw stood all the way up as Toadpaw sat up. "It's still raining!" Toadpaw shrugged his shoulders, "And you had to wake us up for that?" Tanglepaw rolled her eyes. "Whatever, I thought it was weird that he rain lasted this long." Rockpaw got up and headed out, the rain was gentler than before and hit her pelt like normal. Rockpaw scanned the area, it was like any other normal day, just raining. Antpelt sat at the edge of the elders den the three legged she cat seemed frustrated as Frizfur meowed endlessly to her about the rain. "Poor Antpelt." Meowed Rockpaw to her siblings, "We should bring her something." Tanglepaw came up besides her, "Like what?" Toadpaw yawned and spit out rain water. Rockpaw laughed. "Let's go hunting." Tanglepaw suggested. "Lets ask what her favorite prey is." Rockpaw added. The three apprentices dashed across the muddy ground over to her. "And here come the trouble makers, gonna destroy the clan with their evil ways, plotting their plans at night while they walk with the dark forest together in their dreams!" Frizfur hissed at the them as they padded over to the elders den. Toadpaw clawed the ground "Why you little-" Tanglepaw flicked Toadpaw with her tail, "Shut up!" Antpelt stretched. "Frizfur, leave them alone, what did they ever do to you?" Frizfur hissed "Existed!" Rockpaw shrugged her shoulders. "Kinda harsh!" She meowed. Frizfur slumped to the back of the den and cured up with his back facing them. "Now what do you three want?" Antpelt meowed. "We noticed how much you're going through, and wanted to do something nice." Antpelt narrowed her eyes and let out a small chuckle, "Like what?" Tanglepaw shifted her paws around on the muddy, wet ground. "We wanted to ask what your favorite prey is." Antpelt smirked "How about rabbit?" The three cats blinked in confusion. "We would need to hunt in Windclan's territory to do that!" Toadpaw meowed "I know, I know. It was just a joke." Antpelt meowed "But really, vole is my favorite, it be nice to have some real food instead of frogs everyday." Tanglepaw stuck her tongue out "Ugh, gross!" Rockpaw rolled her eyes. "Alright! We'll be back soon!" Antpelt nodded as the three ran off. "Oh and Frizfur likes frogs!" She meowed as the dashed out of camp. The pine trees didn't give much cover as they hunted. "This rain! I can't find anything! Not even frogs!" Toadpaw dug his claws into the ground, frustrated. Tanglepaw dashed over to him, holding a frog "Good catch!" Meowed Rockpaw. "We should try somewhere cats haven't been hunting lately and see if we can find more." Toadpaw shook his thick fur "Like where?" Rockpaw thought for a second. "How 'bout near the towleg object? No cat has gone there lately." The three cats nodded in agreement, Tanglepaw burried her frog and they went off towards the border. The trees began to thin out as they reached the border near the thunderpath. The strange object sat where it was, grass began growing through it. Up close, Rockpaw began to examine the towleg thing. She knew what it was! "Guys! This is a monster paw!" Toadpaw and Tanglepaw sniffed around it, curling their noses up as the smell of the thunderpath found its way through the rain. "Yeah, it is." Meowed Tanglepaw. "Now is not the time, guys. C'mon I hear something in those bushes." Toadpaw flicked his tail toward a large bush. Rockpaw didn't try and smell what was there, knowing that she would just get rain water in her nose and mouth. "The bush is up against a tree, so one of us could take each side. Toadpaw, you go on this side." Rockpaw flicked her tail towards the side next to the tree. "I'll take the opposite side of you, and Tanglepaw you take the one straight forward." They all quietly got into their spots, positioning themselves to pounce. "Toadpaw, try jumping into the bush to scare the prey." Toadpaw nodded and pounced onto a branch, shaking the bush. A giant blackbird shot straight out, nearly hitting Tanglepaw. Tanglepaw swiped her paw at it throwing it straight back into the bush, Toadpaw pushed on the branch again as the bird shot back out, right above Rockpaw's head. Rockpaw used her quick thinking and jumped straight up into the air and caught the birds wing. It fell to the ground. Rockpaw tried to hold it down, Pushing its wing down with her paw and holding onto its neck. The bird screeched and struggled, Rockpaw bit down as hard as she could on it's neck. Toadpaw and Tanglepaw both rushed over as Rockpaw bit down, killing the bird. She dropped it and sat back, breathing heavily. "Dear Starclan! This bird is as big as us! It could have carried us away with ease!" Tanglepaw meowed. "That was a great catch!" Meowed Toadpaw "It was a great strategy!" Rockpaw nodded, "Let's take what we have back to camp." Rockpaw propped the bird up on her back. Along their way back to camp Toadpaw caught a frog and Tanglepaw caught the vole, Antpelt had asked for. "Eww!! I can't believe I caught it! So gross." Tanglepaw carried the two frogs while Toadpaw carried the vole. The rain was gentler, like a slight drizzle as they entered camp. Tanglepaw came in first, followed by Toadpaw and Rockpaw. The clan was moving along as usual Sandtail rushed over to her apprentice, "Toadpaw! Where were you? We were supposed to battle train this morning, remember?" Toadpaw dropped the vole, "I completely forgot!" Sandtail sighed, "Take care of that and come see me, we can train while the rain is still light." Before Sandtail walked away she noticed Rockpaw's catch, "Dear Starclan! Did you catch that?!" Before Rockpaw could speak, Ratnose padded in, "Catch what?" Sandtail blinked at the large tabby, "Your apprentice is a natural hunter! She's got some skills there, I would embrace them if I were you!" Toadpaw grabbed the vole and ran off to the elders den. Tanglepaw looked at Rockpaw than back at Toadpaw and chased after him. "How did you catch that?" Ratnose questioned. "It was in a bush and we all cornered it. It flew out and I pulled it down and managed to catch it just in time." Ratnose nodded and headed off towards Stormstar's den. Rockpaw sat where she was, the giant bird at her paws. Other cats began to come by and compliment her. Ratnose pushed through his clanmates as Stormstar followed. "Pretty impressive, huh?" He meowed to Stormstar. Rockpaw couldn't believe it! He was proud of her! So proud he wanted to show Stormstar herself! She purred as pride and happiness flowed through her. "Good job, you have the right to be proud of your apprentice, she's doing great with her training." Stormstar meowed to Ratnose, "But I'm still upset with you Ratnose, you're still being punished for what happened at the border." Stormstar padded up to Rockpaw and puled her off to the side as Ratnose slugged his shoulders. "Don't let him get to you, sometimes life gets rough but you just have to pull through." Rockpaw opened her mouth to respond but Stormstar flicked her tail over her mouth, "I know hes' a pain, just keep doing what you're doing." Rockpaw giggled as Stormstar padded back to her den, she turned around and winked at Rockpaw. Rockpaw grabbed her bird and placed it in the fresh kill pile. Shaking some of the rain off her pelt as Toadpaw rushed past her. "Woah, where you going?" Toadpaw skidded to a stop, "Training! Remember!" Toadpaw rushed out of camp after Sandtail.
