"Hey Rockpaw!" Rockpaw turned her head towards the leader's den, Sunbreeze jerked her head toward Stormstar. Rockpaw felt like there was a stone in her stomach. She hadn't done anything wrong, had she? Or was this about Ratnose? Had he already managed to tell them about her outbursts? "Calm down Rockpaw, if your eyes get any wider they'll pop right out of your head!" Sunbreeze meowed. Rockpaw let out a sigh of relief, she wasn't in trouble. "Rockpaw, I was going to have Ratnose do this but he's off on his independent hunting trips again, huh?" Stormstar's voice was calm and sweet as always, Rockpaw seemed surprised every time she talked, such a ruff- furred scarred up cat with a voice that could serenade a kit to sleep in one word. "I need you to go ahead and find some cats free for the patrol to talk with Thunderclan." Stormstar meowed calmly, "What? But isn't Sunbreeze supposed to organize patrols?" Rockpaw mewed. "I've got things to discuss with Stormstar, just ask cats if they're busy and if not ask them if they'll join the patrol." Rockpaw nodded her head as Sunbreeze spoke, "How many cats should I ask?" Stromstar padded into her den, Sunbreeze stood up, "About five, maybe?" The two she cats padded back into the den and left Rockpaw with her own little mission. Rockpaw padded over to a group of warriors, sunning their fur, or at least trying, "Not getting much sun with all those storm clouds, huh?" Rockpaw meowed as the cats stretched. "What's up, Rockpaw?" mewed a crystal white she cat, Snowdew. "Stormstar and Sunbreeze wanted me to get a patrol together to go confront Thunderclan, are any of you free?" Snowdew stood up and padded towards her, yeah, I'm free, and I know for sure that Doveclaw is free." Doveclaw flicked his tail, "Thanks for ratting me out, I didn't want to do anything today." The gray tabby yawned and reluctantly got up. "Awesome, Snowdew, Doveclaw, Ratnose an me, one more cat ought to complete this patrol." Scanning the area, Rockpaw's eyes met the light tan and gray tabby, Tendrilfur, his long wavy fur blowing slightly in the wind. Perfect! The young cat had become a warrior no more than three moons ago, it would be nice to have a younger cat alongside Rockpaw. "Tendrilfur!" She called him over, "You up for a patrol?" The long furred tabby raced over to them, "Sure, where we headed?" Before Rockpaw could say anything her mentor, Ratnose came in through the entrance and padded over to them, "We're going on a patrol to confront Thunderclan, and none of you are going, I'm about to gather the real patrol now." Rockpaw scampered up and blocked his way, "Ratnose this is the patrol, Stormstar and Sunbreeze both asked me to gather a small patrol because you weren't here." Ratnose grunted, "I don't believe you." Rockpaw dug her claws into the ground, why did Ratnose have to be so stubborn?! "Is there a problem?" Rockpaw gasped and quickly straightened herself up as Stormstar padded up to them, "Stromstar, did you let my apprentice gather a patrol? You know how clumsy and mouse-brained she is, look at this weak patrol she has! There is no way I'm taking them into battle." Stormstar shook her head, "You're right, you can't take these cats into battle." She paused "Because there will be no battle." Ratnose let his tail fall as he took a step closer, "Stormstar? What do you mean? They're trying to steal our territory!" Stormstar flashed an angered glance at the large warrior, "Ratnose, all you have to do is talk to them and report what they said back to me! If a battle does break out and any of these cats get hurt, I'm blaming you. Now go!" Stormstar's voice didn't sound as calm as before, a harsh tone and impatient flicking of her tail told Ratnose that she wasn't in the mood for a quarrel. Ratnose gathered the cats and the headed off towards the border. Ratnose took the lead followed by Snowdew and Doveclaw, Rockpaw Stayed to the back with Tendrilfur. She wanted to stay as far away as she could from her mentor after being told off by Stormstar. "I've never seen Stromstar act like that before, she was ticked!" Rockpaw nodded as Tendrilfur spoke, "Yeah, but Ratnose was being ignorant, she was losing her patience is all." Rockpaw kept her voice low, so that her mentor couldn't hear her talking bad about his temper. Rockpaw regretted asking Snowdew and Doveclaw to join, the littermates wouldn't shut up, talking about their favorite prey, or what they caught yesterday. Rockpaw wanted to shove all the moss she could find in her ears. Or maybe their mouths. "Shut your blabbering, we're almost there. The patrol went quiet as the reached the border.
