The next morning, Gordon stood at attention in front of Brandt's desk in the embassy. Brandt's cold blue eyes surveyed Gordon as he delivered his report from the previous day. "So basically, my daughter is involved with every man in the palace?" the ambassador asked with thinly veiled contempt.

"According to The King's Driver. But I think the rumor that is true is the one that she is involved, quite intimately, with Bucky Barnes. I'm not sure how intimate their relationship is, but it sounds like it extends beyond the normal parameters of a friendship."

"Oh?" Brandt asked, his interest clearly piqued.

"Yes, sir. The King's Driver says nine times out of ten, she'll be seen with Bucky around the palace and its grounds." Gordon replied.

"What would you tell me if I told you I knew all this, or had guessed it pretty accurately after the ball?" Gordon, fought back a flinch. It would not do to show weakness right now.

"It appears, sir, that their relationship has progressed to a more physical type." Brandt's eyes hardened. "I'm not saying that they are having a physical relationship, sir. I'm saying that they have been seen kissing. And she was sent for to help calm him down the other night. Apparently he wouldn't let anyone else near him."

At that, Brandt sat up and leaned forward, he smiled widely. The smile was not at all reassuring, Gordon decided. "Good." Brandt murmured, more to himself than to Gordon. Then he waved his hand in dismissal and Gordon left the office as quickly as he could without seeming disrespectful.

Gordon returned to his office in the garage. The two Wakandan drivers looked up at him as he entered the garage. "What did the ambassador want?" The taller of the two asked.

"Just wanted to know where I take my car." Gordon shrugged.

"Does he often check that?" Asked the shorter one.

"No, this is the first time he's checked me." Gordon replied. "If Miss Brandt comes to the garage, just let me take her where she wants to go." Gordon told them, he didn't want them to get mixed up in this. Their loyalty to their king and country would probably cause some conflict with Brandt's orders and end up with them losing their jobs. These men had families, Gordon didn't. The only result of him being fired would be him being stuck in Wakanda without the funds to get back to America.

The other two looked at him, but shrugged. "Very well," The taller said, turning back to the car he was doing a tune-up on. Gordon continued on to his office at the back of the garage. He closed the door and sat behind his desk, breathing deeply. He knew following his orders was going to cost Louise. He felt terrible. He felt sick. But there was nothing for it.

He turned to a pile of paper work on his desk. Hopefully going over the order forms for the cars and garage would help soothe his conscience. Balancing the garage's expense books would also help. He pulled out a pen and grabbed the top sheet of paper.
