A few weeks had pasted and lessons had started, me, Lily, James and Remus were having detentions every night at 8 doing lines, cleaning or helping teachers, this meant quidditch practice had to be on weekends in the day, so with homework on top I didn't have much spare time, neither did the others as James had quidditch too and Remus and Lily had prefect duties.

One night when I was doing my potions essay, James and Peter burst through the portrait hole.
"We got them!" James said when he was out of earshot of everyone else in the room, "four mandrake leaves."
"That's great!" I whispered.
"Why have you got four?" Remus said suspiciously.
"Umm, well," James stammered.
"No! Didn't we say Lyra isn't doing it," Sirius said.
"Not this again," I moaned, "I've already said you can't stop me."
"Sirius, I think she should decide for herself," Remus said.
"What?!" Sirius said outraged but Remus gave him a meaningful look. I didn't care if they were planning something they couldn't stop me.
"Right that's settled," I said, "when should we do it?"
"I was thinking tonight," James mused.
"Why so soon?" I said.
"Well there's no point in planning anything, what's there to plan?" He replied and I nodded.
"Ok?" He asked the others.
"Yeah, lets meet in the common room at 1," Sirius said, I eyed him suspiciously.
"Yeah, James bring the cloak, I'll get the map and meet here, make sure no one follows us," Remus said.
"Ok let's get some sleep," Peter said.
"You go I've still got my potions essay to finish," I groan with tiredness.
"Ok, see you later," James said and they went to bed.
I was going to stay there all night, just in case they try and leave without me, so I carried on with my essay.

The common room emptied slowly as people went to bed,  it I stayed there writing my potions essay, then starting my muggle studies. My suspicions turned out to be correct, at about midnight I heard James and Remus arguing,
"We cant do that to her."
"I'm not putting her in danger."
"It's not fair."
"It's not your decision, James."
"It's not yours either," I said standing up making them jump, "I can't believe you tried to go without me."
"Sorry," James said and Remus looked sheepish.
"Let's go, shall we?" I said. We set off for the prefects bathroom, we had to move slowly as there were five of us and we had to keep stoping to check the map, but luckily we met no one.
"Mint fresh," Remus muttered when we got to the bathroom. When we entered James slipped the cloak off us and I stared around, it was beautiful, it was made of marble with a stain glass windows, statutes and mirrors.
"Come on, let's get started," Peter said and we all sat in a corner of the room.
"Right, Moony you'll have to make the potion as we'll have leafs in our mouths," James said.
"Moony?" I said laughing.
"Well now you're in on the secret we can call him his nickname," James said.
"How long has this been going on?" I asked.
"Since third year," Remus said.
"Ok, Moony," I said and he grinned at me.
"Right, start the potion then we'll dip the leafs in," Peter said taking the leafs out of his pocket and Remus started to mix the potion. The others got up and went to the bath and started to splash each other, and I went to sit next to Remus.
"Hey," I said resting my chin on his shoulder.
"Hey," he replied, adding things to the mixture. "You know I won't be able to kiss you for a month?" He whispered so the others couldn't hear.
"Aww, are you gonna miss it?" I said, grinning.
"Well I just thought I'd say," he replied.
"Come here," I said and I kissed him lightly, he smiled and mixed the potion again.
"Thanks," he said, "I guess that'll have to do for a month."
"Yeah, I'm sorry," I said smirking.
"Come on its ready!" He said to the others and we all picked up a leaf.
"Right remember that it's a challenge, who can keep quiet the longest," Remus said.
"Wait how are we meant to eat?" I suddenly said.
"We starve," Sirius said sarcastically.
"Oh haha," I said.
"We can eat, just don't swallow the leaf," James said.
"Ok, but I think we should end at different times," I said, they all stared at me.
"Why?" Peter asked.
"Well if we all stop at the same time it will look suspicious," I said.
"Oh yeah," Remus said, "in that case Sirius should stop first."
"Hey what's that meant to mean?"
"Then James," Remus said ignoring him.
"That's just rude."
"Then Lyra," he said again ignoring them.
"Oi!"
"Then Peter," he finished.
"Ok, be about a week apart or a few days," I said dipping my leaf into the potion.
"Ready?" Peter said.
"Yeah."
"Ready."
"Let's do this." And we all put the lead in our mouths and instantly made faces as it was incredibly sour. Remus grinned and handed us chalk boards.
"You can use these to communicate if I'm not there," he said. I took the board and used my wand to write the words 'ok'.

"Well that's gonna be a change," Professor Mcgonagal said when Remus explained to her about being silent, "the three most chatty students in the school being silent, I'll tell you what, who ever wins will get some chocolate from me." We grinned at each other, the sour taste had worn off but now it tasted like all the vegetables in the world. Lots of our teachers kept making the prize bigger as they added potions, no homework and no detentions to the list. Most people in the school had heard the news and were making bets with each other.
