51. Surprise

'I ran in front of Sirius, giggling.
"Lyra! Sirius! Wait up!" Regulus cried from behind us.
"Run faster then!" Sirius shouted back.
"You two are so slow!" I said over my shoulder. I stopped running at the top of the hill and looked out in the lake. There was a tree hanging over the enormous lake, on the other side there was a forest. The lake was still and calm, the sun reflected on water, like a sheet of silver.
"Blimme, you're fast," Sirius said as he stopped next to me.
"You're just slow," I retorted, regulus joined us looking over the lake. After a while of quiet Regulus says,
"Ok, whose going in first?"
"Youngest goes first," Sirius said.
"Ugh, fine, but you two will have difficulty," Regulus responded, pulling his top and trousers off, his swimming trunks underneath. He ran to the tree and dived into the water, making a giant splash, he resurfaced grinning.
"Right, now, who was born first?" Sirius said to me.
"Umm, I'm not sure," I replied, as we walked to the tree.
"Well, you know hat they say," Sirius said, as we took out clothes off, leaving us in our swimming costumes.
"What?" I asked, look over the edge of the tree.
"Ladies first," Sirius shouted, pushing me off the tree into the lake, it made a splash. I could hear my brothers laughing, I resurfaced and splashed Regulus.
"Oi! It wasn't me!" He said, shielding himself.
"Yeah, you're right," I said, turning to Sirius.
"Come on then," he said, smirking. I ran out of the lake and back to the tree, but he dived off the end before I could get to him.
"Hey!" I shouted, but before he said anything else a huge wave engulfed him. Me and Regulus stared laughing, as he resurfaced spitting water out.
"Finally, your first sign of magic," a voice behind me said, I spun around, our father was walking towards me.
"I, er, yeah I guess," I replied, sheepishly.
"Come on, Lyra, you must start your training," my father said, grabbing my arm and disaperating."

Remus POV
Lyra fell asleep in my arms, I gently moved round her and finished her homework. I saw she still had about ten more homeworks to finish, I shifted and let her sleep on a cushion. I went up to my dorm to get James.
"Prongs, hey get up," I whispered, he mumbled something and turned over.
"Fine, we'll do it the hard way then," I muttered, "aguarmenti." Water poured out of my wand onto James' face.
"Merlin's beard!" He yelled, swinging his arm and hitting me in the face. I stumbled back and fell into Sirius, who was sound asleep.
"Don't touch my cookies!" He shouted, I jumped up, clutching my bleeding nose.
"Moony, what the hell are you doing?" Peter said.
"I was trying to wake Prongs up, but it didn't go so well," I replied, tilting my head back.
"Well you could've just shook me awake," James interjected.
"Do you knot think I tried?" I said, stuffing tissues on my nose, "Padfoot, what were you dreaming about?"
"I er, nothing," he muttered.
"Who was touching your cookies?" Peter said, smirking.
"Shut up," Sirius muttered.
"Anyway, Prongs I need some help getting into the girl's dorm," I said.
"Oh? Why's that?" James smirked.
"It's not like that!" I almost yelled, "I wanted to put Greypaws to bed."
"Oh, really? Well I'll help, let's go," he said, smirking. I carried Lyra and James muttered a spell that made the slide disappear, we climbed the stairs and James opened the 6th year door.
"Wait, Prong you might want to-"
"JAMES POTTER! WHAT IN MERLINS BEARD ARE YOU DOING?"
"No, it's not what it- ouch! Hey!"
"Go back to your dorm before I transfigured you into a horse!" James backed away, shielding his face from Lily, who was pointing her wand menacingly.
"Wait! Lily! It's me I've got Lyra!" I said, before she actually caused James harm. She spotted me with Lyra in arms, somehow she was still asleep.
"Lily, we just wanted to put her to bed," I said.
"Why, didn't you just knock?" She said.
"Yeah, Prongs, why didn't you just knock?" I said.
"I, didn't think," he muttered.
"That's obvious," I replied.
"Ugh, I'm sorry, Lily," he said.
"Aw, don't worry, Jamie," she grinned pinching his cheek. She let us in and I put Lyra on her bed. Me, James and Lily left and went to the common room to tidy up Lyra's stuff. It was now 2am, Lily took Lyra's stuff to her dorm and we all went to sleep.

As I was falling asleep all I could think of how much Lyra meant to me.

(I'm so sorry it's 2 mounts, I just don't have any ideas,please msg me if you have some I need help with this story, I can think of stuff after Lyra leaves Hogwarts but not in the years before)
