31. I'm home

Me and James played chess for a while, Sirius had gone to meet a girl, or two.
"Yes!" I shouted as my queen smashed James's king to pieces, just then Peter came into the compartment. "Alright, Wormtail, where've you been?" I asked.
"I couldn't fine the compartment," Peter replied sitting next to James.
"Ok, want to play some chess? I've beaten James like ten times already," I said, repairing my chess set.
"It was not ten!" James complained, "it was maybe like eight." I laughed as he gave me a jealous look. The trolley came past and me and James bought loads of snacks and sweets, we were a quarter of the way through the pile when Remus and Lily came back in, looking very tired.
"There were five third years throwing biting boomerangs down the corridor," Lily said slumping down next to the door. Remus picked up a chocolate frog and sat down next to me, and bit it's head off.
"A fourth year tried to jynx me," he sighed.
"Awww, is my Moony tired?" I said brushing his hair out of his eyes.
"Yeah, riiiight," he replied sarcastically.
"Where's Sirius?" Lily said, looking round.
"Gone girl hunting," James yawned, then looking shocked, "did I just say that?"
"Yes, you prat, you did," I said throwing my cloak at him. We were all talking and laughing for a while, when I noticed something on my shoulder. I turned my head to see Remus asleep on my shoulder, I brushed the hair away from his face.
"It must be the f-" James said but I cut him off.
"Shut up!" I said quickly, glancing at Lily, she was looking from me, to Remus then to James curiously. I pulled out my necklace, it was almost silver, I had enchanted it to change colours depending on how close the full moon was, blue meant it's just happened and it's not for another month and silver meant it was going out to happened that night, it was a bluey-silver so I guessed Remus had about a week. I shove it back down my top and nodded discreetly at James.
"Well he did stay up late last night," James said, quickly.
"Yeah, I'm tired too," I said pretending to yawn and I rested my head on Remus'. I didn't hear what was being said, as I actually did fall asleep.

I was woken by quiet talking, from the others.
"They look so cute."
"Look, Moony is smiling." I didn't know what they meant or who they were, I just wanted to go back to sleep when I heard a clicking sound. And my head jolted up right and so did Remus, I looked at the others, my vision slightly blurred.
"Wt's gonin on?" I mumbled.
"You and Remus fell asleep and you looked so cute, Peter took a picture," Lily said.
"Oh, right," I replied. "How long till we're at Hogwarts?"
"About fifteen minutes," Sirius said, they were already in their school robes. I used my wand to swap my clothes without taking them off. Remus had taken his top off and I stared at him, before catching Sirius' eye and hurriedly looking away.
"Look!" Peter said, pointing out the window, we all looked at the window, Hogwarts was just behind the trees. I'm home, thought.
"How long were we asleep for?" I asked turning round, Remus had changed now.
"About and hour," James replied, unwrapping a liquorice wand.
"Ok," I said.
"You two looked so cute together!" Lily squealed again, "you were just sleeping."
"Well, naahh," I said sarcastically.
"Come on let's get our stuff," Remus said standing up.
"Yeah, lets go," James said.
"Here," Remus said, passing me my cloak.
"Thanks," I said as I threw it round my shoulders. He smiled at me, then pulled his own round himself. I stuffed my muggle clothes into my bag and put my wand in my pocket. The train stopped and everyone started to spill out of the train.
"Come on, Remus we have to watch over this," Lily said.
"I can't, not tonight, I'm too tired," he replied, she shrugged and disappeared into the crowd of people.

We all got into the same carriage, pulled by the thestrals, I sat next to Remus, near the gate.
"Look," James said pointing at the castle, "we're finally home."
"Yeah," we all said. I was home after a long time away I was finally home, the first place I'd had friends apart from Sirius, the first place I'd found someone that loves me more that Sirius. I rested my head on Remus' shoulder, and inhaled the smell of chocolate, he snaked his arm round my shoulders and I felt Sirius glance at me. Suddenly the carriage stopped and we all got out, I jumped down and offered my hand to Remus in mock politeness, he laughed and took it, Professor Flitwick was waiting at the gates again.
"Names?" He squeaked.
"Again, five years," I said, "you know who we are Professor."
"No exceptions Black!" He said sternly. I rolled my eyes, "I saw that."
"Sorry sir, Lyra Black,"
"Thank you, next,"
"Remus Lupin."
"Sirius Black."
"James Potter."
"Lily Evans."
"Peter Pettigrew."
"Very well off you go," he said, and we walked up towards the castle.
"Do you think Voldemort will become strong?" I said to Remus.
"Maybe," he said, holding my hand, "but I won't let anyone harm you."
"Sure thing, Moony," I said as we walked through the oak doors. I was home.
