The Exodus Ship, which we were expecting to come down, had crushed down on Earth. A big explosion had destroyed it all. But the worst part is: Abby Griffin, Clarke's mother, was possibly on the ship. She had taken care of me as a sort of mother after my own died. Clarke and I grew up like sisters. I comforted Clarke in her tent yesterday, we talked about the times with Abby on the Ark, just like we did when Wells died (-"remember that time..."-). I guess it helped us searching the remains of the ship next day. Limbs and scorched skeletons were laying between big parts of the Exodus Ship. We searched with a group of delinquents.
"Stay sharp." Bell called at the crowd, "Grounder retaliation for the bridge is coming. Just a matter of when."
"You blame them?" Finn asked him.
"No, we're blaming you." I growled at Finn.
"Maybe, if you didn't bring guns-" Finn tried.
"If we didn't bring guns," Raven cut him off, "we all would've been killed."
"Why they're coming doesn't matter anymore," Bellamy said, "it's our job to be ready when they do. We're on our own now.""Clarke, stop!" Raven exclaimed suddenly and ran towards the blonde, followed by Bell, Finn and me.
"Rocket fuel?" Clarke asked as she took a step away.
"Hydrazine," Raven stated as she looked at the dripping pink liquid.
"Sounds like a good thing to me," I said, "we can blow up all the Grounders at once if this stuff meets fire." Raven dipped a stone in the hydrazine and threw it away while yelling: "fire in the hole!" It met a small fire, but the hydrazine made it a explosion. "Whoa!" Some of the delinquents shouted.
"We need to clear the area." Raven stated.
"Okay, then." Bellamy said. He called the delinquents and told them we need to get back before dark.As always the night came fast, but luckily we reached camp before it was fully dark. Monroe and I were talking somewhere in the back of the camp, as Harper listened amazed to Jasper's story about the bridge (-"pure animal instinct took over"-)
"I think someone needs attention." Monroe chuckled.
"Jasper?" I replied, "oh, yes. He-"
"I didn't mean Jasper." Monroe pointed at Bellamy, who walked in a fast pace towards us. A sort smirk played on his lips. Monroe moved her eyebrows up and down, as she walked away towards Harper. I chuckled and shot her a look that said act normal. Bell didn't say a thing, he simply kissed my cheek and pulled me towards our tent."Bellamy! Olivia!" A voice called from outside our tent, "you have to come, now. It's Murphy!" Bell and I exchanged a look and got up. We walked towards the Drop Ship, Clarke joined us when we walked in. The first thing I saw was Murphy, his hands tied up and there were cuts all over him. "Oh my god." I gasped and look around for a cloth to clean him up, "what the hell happened?"
"Everyone but Connor, Derek and Olivia out." Bellamy ordered, "now!"
"He claims he was with the Grounders," Connor told us, "we caught him trying to sneak back into camp."
"I wasn't sneaking." Murphy said slowly and weak, "I was running from the Grounders."
"Anyone see Grounders?" Bell asked, but both the boys shook their heads, "well, in that case..." he pointed his gun at Murphy.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Finn said and pushed the gun away. Apparently he and Clarke didn't leave on Bell's order.
"We knew what would happen if he returned."Bellamy told Finn.
"No!" Finn shouted and stood between Bell's gun and Murphy, "if he was with the Grounders, he knows thing that can help us."
"Help us? We hanged him, we banished him and now we're gonna kill him."
"Not this time, Bell." I said and made the three boys look at me, "have you even seen him? He is covered in blood, cuts everywhere and weak. It would be cruel to kill him now."
"Why is no one thinking about Charlotte?"
"I am," Clarke said and made her way towards Murphy, "but what happened to Charlotte was as much our fault as his."Clarke took a closer look at Murphy's hand, "his fingernails were torn off. He's tortured."
"You and the Grounders should compare notes." Finn said sarcastic to Bellamy.
"The Grounders know we're at war," Bell replied. "What did you tell them about us?"
"Everything." Murphy replied.A moment of silence followed. We shot looks at each other; worried and angry ones. If Murphy indeed told them everything, the Grounders would know a few weak spots in the camp and winning this war would become harder... even with guns.
"Once he's better," Clarke said to Bellamy, "we find out what he know, then he's out. Okay?"
"What if he refuses to leave?" Bell said angrily, "what then?" Clarke looked at Murphy before replying words I honestly didn't want to hear: "then we kill him." I sighed deeply as Clarke walked out.
"Queenie, you're on first Murphy-watch." Bell said as he and the other boys made their way out.
"Olivia, I-" Murphy tried, but I cut him off.
"That you were tortured by Grounders doesn't mean I forgive you for knocking me out or trying to kill Charlotte. She is dead and a part of that is your fault."
"I-I understand." He whispered and looked down. After a minute or two he started coughing. It went worse and worse. I looked at him, Murphy sat on his knees as he coughed up blood. "Murphy?!" I yelled in horror and ran out, "Clarke?! Bellamy?!" I found Clarke with Raven, blood was streaming out of her eyes, like tears.
"Olivia!" Clarke warned, "don't come any closer."Because I was with Murphy for a couple of minutes, Clarke had, on Bell's order, checked me a couple of times. There weren't any symptoms of this Grounder-Sickness, which Murphy had brought into camp without even knowing. "I didn't touch Murphy." I said to Clarke as she checked me for the third time in one hour.
"I believe you." Clarke said and stopped her routine, "you can go." I left the Drop Ship. Something was going wrong; delinquents were pointing their guns at others, sick ones. "Get away!" A girl was screaming at Fox, who had blood all over her mouth. "CALM DOWN!" Bellamy was yelling over and over again. I couldn't help Bell, who was in the middle of the crowd of chaos. People were screaming. I ran towards Harper, she had her gun aimed. I took it out of her hands and shot three times at the sky. All eyes were fixed on me. "Chaos is not gonna help." I stated, "so please shut up. All those with the fever into the Drop Ship. All those who think they have symptoms up the third level, Clarke will check you. The others stay here, outside." Some murmured other kept quiet watching what will happen, "what the hell are you waiting for? Now!"
"You were in there the hole time, Kane." A boy shouted and pointed his gun at me, "you must be sick too. Get back!" I took a step back and raised my hands. In a flash, Bellamy made his way towards the boy, hit him in his face and pushed him to the ground, while taking away his gun. "Do what Olivia said, now." Bellamy ordered. The delinquents started moving and did what I said. But at the same time Clarke collapsed. Finn caught her before she hit ground.
"Finn, don't touch her." I warned him.
"Let me go," Clarke said as Finn lifted her, "I'm okay."
"No, you're not." Finn replied.
"Octavia will come back with a cure."
"There is no cure," Octavia said suddenly as she ran into the camp, "but the Grounders don't use the sickness to kill."
"Really?" Bell said sarcastic, "tell that to them." He pointed at the Drop Ship.
"Oh, oh. Blake-sibling trouble." Raven whispered in my ear.
"I warned you about seeing that Grounder again." Bellamy said to Octavia.
"Yeah, well," Octavia said, "I have a warning for you too. The Grounders are coming... and they're attacking at first light." The crowd started gasping and murmuring. Octavia walked towards the Drop Ship, but Bellamy grabbed her wrist, which she pulled back roughly. Then She helped Finn with bringing Clarke into the Drop Ship.
"How many bullets can you make by first light?" Bell asked Raven.
"Dunno..." she replied, "but with some help..."
