We got back home and sat in the car for a second, not doing or saying anything. "You ready?" Mason asked after a while. I nodded my head and we got out of the car. He helped me walk up the steps to the Thorton's house and in the door. We walked in, "Guys were back!" Mason yelled. I felt something hit my leg and I stepped back and if Mason hadn't caught me, I would have fallen over. "What was that?" I asked. "Oh that is Dylan's dog, Hound." Mason explained. "I didn't know Dylan had a dog." I said. "Hey Faith," Navvy said. One at a time they all came in and said, 'Hi' to me and hugged me and then we all sat on the couch and talked for a while. "What kind of dog is Hound?" I asked Dylan. Hound was sitting on my lap and I was petting him. "He is a husky," Dylan told me. "Well he is real soft, and real big." I smiled.
All of us went to MT's for dinner that night, it was weird being there but not seeing anything. "Hey Faith, good to see ya." Marty said. "Hey, Marty it's been a while," I tried to face in his general direction but it is kinda hard to know where someone is without seeing them. "Yea it has, almost a month or so." He said. I felt kinda weird having sunglasses on inside, but I guess it is better than everyone staring at me. "I heard you got home today, but I couldn't get away from work it has been pretty busy, lately." Marty told me. "I heard you refused to hire anyone else for my job." I said. "No one can sing as good as you can," He told me and I could tell he was smiling. I just shook my head.
It was a week later and I still hadn't gotten my eye sight back. It was early in the morning, I could tell because I woke Mason up for a second to ask the time and he said it was 7:30 a.m. then he went back to bed.
I was sitting on the floor against the couch when I heard someone come out of the bathroom in the hallway and I looked up. "Faith your awake," Navvy said. "Did I wake you up when I started the shower a while ago?" He asked. "Oh no, I didn't even know the shower turned on." I told him. "The police came by last night, when Mason, HiJack and I came back from MT's. They said that I needed to go to court..." I got out before Navvy started to talk. "I know HiJack told me. Something about Ruth and Harold though, not about what you did." Navvy said. "So I aint go'n to jail yet," I tried to smile. "You aint go'n nowhere." Navvy told me.
"If this is about Ruth and Harold that means I might have to go live in a foster home." I explained. "I have done it a million times. They don't like me, we go to court, I get put in a group home 'til someone else comes and gets me." I continued. "Faith, you know that we won't let you leave," He assured me. I didn't say anything for a while, "Thanks, Navvy." "You better get to bed or Mason may just kill me." Navvy laughed. "I bet he would." I smiled and got back on the couch and went to bed.
The next day Navvy, Cash and Ty went to work, and Mason and Dylan went out, it took Dylan forever to convince Mason to leave me at the house with HiJack for an hour. Finally, Mason was convinced and they left. "I heard you got hauled in." I said to HiJack as Mason and Dylan drove away. "Oh...Yea," He mumbled shyly. "Why?" I asked even though I already knew. He didn't say anything, he opened his mouth a couple times like he was going to say something, but didn't. "Don't worry, Navvy already told me why." I started. "I meant, why did you do it?" "I know that they were still abusive when I left, and I was supposed to protect you, but I didn't, so I felt like I kinda owed it to you." He told me. "Well, thank you." I smiled and started walking out of the kitchen by feeling my way around the wall. Suddenly I got really dizzy, "Whoa?" I whispered. "You alright?" He asked. "Yea, I'm fine." I shook my head and kept walking.
HiJack heard something in the main room and went out there to see me laying on the floor not moving. "Faith!" He ran over to me and made sure I was still breathing and went to call Ty.
"Hey Ty, it's HiJack, something is wrong with Faith."
"What do you mean something is wrong with Faith?" Ty asked
