It was Friday, and we all went to MT's for dinner. "Hope you get better soon, Faith, so I can get my singer back." Marty joked. "Same here," I laughed. "So when is the trial?" He asked me. "On Wednesday," I told him. "Well I wish you luck," He said when we all got up to leave. "Thanks," I smiled as we left.
It was around eight when we got back home. "Well I'm tired, so I am going to go to bed." I told them plopping down on the couch. I was real tired and I went right to bed, but I am sure everyone was still there for two more hours. I didn't wake up that night, it seemed like I had just blinked and it was morning.
When I woke up that morning, I was still tired and I put my feet down, and I accidently kicked someone. I opened my eyes and saw something blue. At first I thought it was just a dream or something and it was just my brain play'n tricks on me. I got up and walked over to the window, and opened the blinds. I saw the light and the trucks outside and it hurt my eyes to see the light, it surprised me to see things again and I stepped backward and accidentally made the coat rack fall over. Mason was the one I kicked, and he woke up when the rack hit the floor.
"Faith?" He said groggily. I walked over to him and we both stood there for a short second before I broke the silence. "Did I ever tell you how cute you are?" I asked and smiled. He didn't say anything for a second and just looked at me and I looked up in his eyes. Then he leaned in and we kissed, for a long while until everyone else came in. "Woah!" Cash exclaimed. We stopped kissing and looked over at the hall way where they were all standing, and we just smiled. "Wait," Navvy said and looked at me and I slightly nodded my head. Then he came over and hugged me, everyone else didn't really understand what was going on until I looked up at them and that is when they realized that I could see again. "How did you...?" Dylan started to ask. "I don't know, I just woke up and looked out the window and I could see. I mean everything is still a little blurry, but I can see again." I smiled. "It looks like I am looking through water or something." I said.
"Do y'all wanna go to MT's for dinner tonight?" Ty asked. "Yea, Faith you still have your job." Cash reminded me. "I have been wanting to get back to work for a while." I told them. "Then let's do it," Dylan decided. "Well, hopefully my voice is the same." I smiled. "Eh you'll do great." Mason said, playfully punching me. I kept blinking, it was so different seeing light and color, everything was so bright. "Are you okay?" HiJack asked, noticing that I was blinking more than I should. "Yea I'm fine, why?" I was confused at first about what he was talking about. "Well, you are blinking an awful lot," He explained to me. "Oh, yea, it's just real bright and everything's real colorful." I explained to them.
Mason and I went outside to go for a walk, we walked past Ruth and Harold's house. The door swung open and Harold and Ruth came out. Harold was real angry and he was mumbling something fierce, I couldn't understand what he was saying. I could understand more as he got closer. "You little brat you know what this will look like on our records?!" He yelled. Mason put his arm in front of me and moved me back behind him. "Let me at 'er!" Ruth yelled coming closer to us. "We gave you a home and food and this is how you repay us!" Harold yelled. "Woah, take it easy," Mason said, putting his hands up. "No, you take it easy!" Harold yelled, he clenched his fists and took a swing at Mason. Harold hit Mason right in the mouth and he stumbled a little. "Mason!" I exclaimed, I looked up and saw Harold standing right in front of me, staring at me with his dark, cold eyes. I froze, I couldn't move. He took a swing at me too, but I leaned back and dodged it. Ruth was standing in the back-round watching, she had never been one for skin on skin fights. Mason stood back up and stood in-between me and Harold, just as Harold was going to take another swing at me. Mason stopped Harold's arm just as it was coming down. Mason took his arm, spun him around and tripped him, so he fell to the ground. "I just bruised your pride this time, but next time you won't be so lucky." Mason told him and dropped his arm. He turned around, grabbed my arm and we ran back to the Thorton's.
