Chapter 6: The interview...

Finally, we arrive at the school, and I completely forgot that Sydney is at school today! ‘Oh no! What if I over do it, what if I look like a try hard?’ I ask myself. I try not to make eye contact with anyone, but there was this one boy who caught my eye. I stared at him and he looked back at me smiling. I couldn’t stop smiling now that I had seen him. I went to the interview and the principle was so sweet. I did really well and he congratulated me on my talent of singing! I am normally an A student so he was also very pleased with my work ethic. The principal shook my hand and said to me; “I look forward to seeing you again Angel.” He smiled and guided us out of his office. As I left the office and once again entered the school grounds, lunchtime was still going and mum needed to use the bathroom, so she told me to wait there. So I sat down on a chair by my self-trying not to look at anyone. I got out my phone and started texting Ally. Then all of a sudden, I felt someone come and stand next to me. It was a very pretty girl who looked to be in grade 9, but I wasn’t quite sure. I looked up at her and she came and sat next to me. She smiled at me and asked “are you new here today?” I replied with a smile, “No, I just came for my interview today.” “Oh okay, do you want to sing for me?” she asked politely. “Um,” I started with a confused tone in my voice, “I’m not very good and I need a guitar or something.” I replied nervously.  “Jai!” She turned around and yelled at the boy who I was staring at. “Pass me your guitar! This is girl is going to sing for me!” Jai runs over and hands me his guitar with a smile. They both stand there, smiling at me waiting for me to start. “Oh sorry!” The girl says, “how rude of me! My name is Kate, and this is Jai.” “Oh hey!” I say with a nervous smile, “my name is Angel.” “Well hello angel,” they both say giggling. The whole group that Jai and Kate had come from was staring at us, whispering between themselves. “Don’t worry about them,” says Jai smiling at me, not losing eye contact. I smile back and start playing the guitar and singing. I finish singing and look up at them, waiting for a response. “Oh my god!” says Kate stunned. “You are amazing!” “Wow, you are really good Angel!” Says Jai also stunned. “Well thank you.” I say smiling at them both. “Can I hear one of you guys sing?” I ask smiling at them. “Well sure!” Kate starts, “Jai is going on x factor this year, so it will be good for him.” She finished shoving Jai onto the seat next to me. He starts blushing as I pass him his guitar and he starts playing. In my head all I could do was stare at him in amazement. He finishes and stares at me waiting for me to say something. “Do you mind if I get a photo with you guys?” I ask still in amazement. “Um sure?” says Kate and Jai confused. “May I ask why?” says Kate. “Well, I would like a photo with you guys before you become famous!” I say. Jai giggles nervously while Kate just smiles. We all take a picture just in time for mum to come back. “Hello,” says mum. “Have we met some friends Angel?” “Yeah! Mum, this is Kate and Jai.” I say smiling. “Jai is an amazing singer! He is going on x factor this year!” “Well congratulations Jai, I wish you the best of luck.” Says mum smiling at Jai. “Thank you!” he replies. “That means a lot.” “And well Kate” I begin, “I haven’t heard her sing yet.” I say smiling at her. Kate laughs and says “yeah, maybe soon.” “Okay, well we better get going! You will see them in a week Angel.” Says mum smiling at me. “Are you serious?! I got in!!” I say excitedly. Kate runs up and gives me a hug and jai just stands there looking down at the ground. Kate looks at him and smiles and gives me a go-give-him-a-hug look. So I run up and give jai a hug. It was magical, I got butterflies. I think im in love. “I will see you guys soon then!” I call out as we walk out of the school. “Well Jai is cute.” Says mum giving me a nudge. “Omg mum, don’t say that.” I say with a disgusted look on my face. She just laughs and ignores me. “Im so excited!” I say with a huge smile on my face. “Well we have to go and try on your uniform now! Come on.” Says mum trying to be serious. We both walked down to the uniform shop at the back of the school. No one was in there so I was happy. All of a sudden I heard a bell ring and assumed it was the bell for the end of lunch. The uniform was a white button up shirt with a red shirt. It was very different to America, we didn’t wear a uniform, we just wore what we wanted to wear. I like wearing a uniform because people don’t get judged on what they wear, or how they look. We ordered the uniform and everything that came with it and took everything home. When we got home mum washed, ironed and folded everything so I was ready for Monday. In the mean time, we finished unpacking boxes for everything was done. It was Thursday today, so I still had 3 days to finish and do last minute things. The day went really quick and at 7:00pm, the whole family sat down and watched a movie in the media room and fell asleep.
