The next morning, I awoke to the smell of bacon, eggs and coffee. ‘Mum never makes breakfast?’ I thought to myself. I quickly threw on some old clothes and ran downstairs to see what was happening. Mum was cooking breakfast and singing a song to herself, while smiling and dancing around the kitchen. “um, good morning mum”, I said while managing a confused smile. “Oh! Good morning Angel”, she says, as she is dancing past me, giving me a quick peck on the fore head. “You hungry?” she adds, “you have a big day ahead of you!” “Um sure” I say still confused, while she hands me a plate of bacon and eggs. As I head to the dining table to sit down and eat, I ask, “Why, what’s happening today?” “Don’t you remember, I told you when we were driving in the car?” She says. I give her a confused look. “Oh well, you’re having your interview for school today! Isn’t that exciting!” She says, smiling at me. I look down at my plate, oh yeah I forgot about that. “Well, what school is it mum?” I question. “Well,” she starts as she turns off the stove and walks over with a plate of bacon and eggs in her hand to join me. “Seeing as though you enjoy singing and acting, I picked a school that is just right for you!” she finishes as she sits down beside me and puts her plate in front of her on the table. I keep staring at her waiting for her to tell me the name of the school. “What?” she says as she puts a piece of bacon in her mouth. “The name of the school mum!” I yell, getting inpatient. “Okay, okay.” She puts down her knife and fork. I am just hoping that it is Campbell town performing arts high school! I have wanted to go there since I started high school. It is the school of my dreams! “You’re going to Campbell Town performing arts high school.” She says with a serious look on her face, managing to break into a smile. “Oh my gosh mum! Are you serious!!” I say yelling with excitement. “Well yes,” she says cutting another piece of bacon. “You don’t like it?” she says with a concerned look on her face. “What! Are you kidding! I love you! I have wanted to go to that school forever!” I scream with a massive smile on my face. “Well that’s good then Angel. See I told we would have a lot of fun here.” She reassures me. I smile and ask, “Well what time is my interview?” Mum looks up from her plate at me and says “12:30, so hurry up and finish that and get ready!” I looked at the clock that read 10:30am, and quickly finished breakfast, and run upstairs to get ready. I ran into my bathroom, turned on my curling iron, got out my makeup, picked a floral dress to wear and started to get ready. By now it was 11:00, and my brother had just gotten up and was walking down stairs. I met him at the stairs and greeted him with a huge smile and a good morning. Nothing could ruin my mood today! I finished curling my hair, and brushing my teeth, so I began to do my makeup. Everything had to be perfect today! As I was applying my mascara, Jade walked into my room and asked me if I could curl her hair. Of course I was in a panic, and my sisters interview wasn’t until next week so I said “no, get mum to do it! I need to get ready!” Campbell town was only 10 minutes away so I wasn’t in a huge hurry. “Oh, okay.” She said as she walked out of the room with her head down. “I’m sorry Jade!” I yelled as she left the room. “I promise I will do it for the day of your interview!” I added. By now it was 11:30, so I quickly got dressed, put on the finishing touches and headed down stairs with my phone in my hand. “Well don’t you look beautiful Angel,” Mum said with a smile on her face. ‘Aw thanks mum!” I said smiling back at her as she was dishing Jade out some breakfast. “Where’s dad?” said Jade. “He is unpacking some stuff in the media room,” replied mum. “We have a media room?” Said Jake in disbelief. “Yeah!” said mum “I thought you saw it?” she questioned. “No?” said Jake with a suspicious look on his face. “Well, once dad finished hooking up the TV, you might be able to watch a movie in there later!” suggested mum. I sat on the lounge texting Ally and telling her about my interview and stuff. She was really happy for me and wished me luck today. “Okay Angel! In the car please!” shouted mum from upstairs. “Okay!” I yelled back to her, and ran to the car in excitement. A couple of minutes later she joined me in the car and we started to head off. “I think you need this,” she said to me, not making eye contact. “What is it?” I ask. She places something in my hand. I slowly open my hand to see what is inside. It was the necklace from Ally. “Oh thank you so much mum!” I say smiling at her. “You left it at the dining table this morning” she said smiling. “Oh, whoops” I say putting the necklace on. “Just be yourself today Angel,” says mum “do your best and remember your manners.” “I promise” I reply giggling
