"M.M. How nice of you to join us." Gaeran said, letting go of my hand.
"Training? What training?" Sadie was the one confused now.
"Yeah, and saving the world?" Alasne asked.
"Well, if you don't want the world to die, you need training to help us." M.M. replied
"Yup. Let's teach you how to use your magic." Gaeran said, leading us into a garden. A few minutes later, we were listening on how to do a spell. "To cast a force spell, your right hand has to be in front of your left hand. Pretend you're grabbing a rope. Pull it toward you with your right hand. Bring your let hand in front, and in the same motion. Quickly bring your left hand back in a fist, and at the same time pretend you're pushing something forward with your right hand. Like this." He demonstrated.
I did exactly what he said twice, no force. The third time I did it, a stream of water shot at Alasne, who was in front of me.
"Layren...." she started. She spun around quickly, very angry. She quickly did the mechanism and froze my hand.
"I guess I deserved that." I said sheepishly.
Sadie was watching and giggled. "You sure did," was all she said.
The four of us were out practicing different spells until dusk. We were too tired to walk up the stairs by the time we came back, so we flopped on the couches. We were fast asleep as soon as our head hit the pillow.I was the first one up, so I sleepily walked over to the granite kitchen. M.M. was already making tea for all of us.
"Good morning, Miss Layren." He said, not looking up. "Orange pekoe tea is already ready for you."
"Thank you." I said, taking the piping hot mug of tea. "What are we going to fight?" I asked.
"A fierce being from the dark dimension." He replied. "I'm worried you're not strong enough."
"What's up?" Gaeran asked as he came down the stairs.
"I'm the only one up." I said, a-matter-of-factly.
"I'm usually the only one up," He replied, trying to lighten the mood. "Well, other than when you were here.
"Will you two keep it down! SOME people are trying to SLEEP." Sadie said, as tired as ever.
"Sadie, quit being grouchy. It's ten o'clock in the morning!" I exclaimed.
"Okay, okay. Alasne, you have to wake up. I'm not letting you sleep in if I have to get up." She replied.
"Oh, alright Sadie, don't be so bossy." Alasne said, rubbing her eyes.
Pretty soon we were all around the table drinking tea and eating eggs and bacon. An alarm sounded from the next room suddenly. Everyone except Gaeran dropped what they had in their hands and covered their ears.
"What is that?" Sadie yelled over the loud beeping noise.
"Something's not right." Gaeran replied, sounding anxious. He ran into the next room with the rest of us hot on his heels.
