Cherri's P.O.V.
“Hey Angel..” he smiled
He was wearing a long purple shirt with sleek, smooth, black trousers and a matching jacket underneath his winter coat. His Rolex was sparkling underneath my hall lights.
“Hi,” I grinned, “We could stay here if you like... you look frozen!”
It was lightly snowing outside and very cold. His nose was slightly red and he was rubbing his hands together, trying to keep them warm.
“Come in!” I pushed him inside taking his coat.
“Are you sure?”
“Of course I’m sure, Rudolph!” I teased, touching his red nose.
We paused for a few moments, just staring at each other...
He shook his hair, getting rid of the excess snow and I brushed down his jacket.
He laughed, “So take out then?”
“Sure!” I smiled, “Is Chinese okay?”
“I’ll have a chicken chow mein.” He handed me a twenty dollar bill
“Nate! I can’t take this! You’ve already been so generous, with the necklace and all.” I smiled
“Shhhh! Please,” he smiled, kissing my cheek, “My treat.”
After ordering the Chinese, for Nate, my mom, my dad and myself, I sat down next to Nate by the fire.
“Is this okay?” I asked nervously
He kissed the top of my head and I leaned it against his chest, “This is perfect.”
“Tell me about yourself Nate.” I enquired
“What’s there to tell?” he smirked, “Moved here a few weeks ago with my Dad. Mom died when I was 13. Dad got out of the slammer when I was 7, we had some good times, some bad times. That’s it really. Not much.”
“I’m sorry about your mom.” I smiled sympathetically
“It’s okay,” he smiled, “I’m sure she would have loved you.”
He kissed me quickly before drawing away and grinning.
There were loud laughs from upstairs, my parents. Oh God, they were so embarrassing...
I glanced up at Nate giving him a sorry look. He rolled his eyes and smiled. Oh God, he was so cute!
“MOM, DAD! We have a guest!”
The laughing stopped and a few minutes later my mom came downstairs in one of Dad’s shirts rolled up at the sleeves and a black skirt.
My dad followed her a few minutes later in a smart casual blue shirt and trousers.
Mom’s face was all flushed, and what was that mark on her neck?
Ew! Gross! I knew my parents.... well, you know, but I never thought Dad would give her a love bite? I pursed my lips and nodded my head towards the mark on Mom’s neck. Mom’s face went red and Dad looked away.
“Cherri!” Mom blushed, fanning herself with the Chinese menu, “You didn’t tell me we would have a guest tonight!”
“Sorry Mom, this is Nate, I mean Nathan, my friend from school. We... have a chemistry assignment...”
“Oh do you now?” my dad placed one hand around Mom’s waist.
“I hope you don’t mind Dad, I ordered takeout, Chinese.”
